PRIVACY! This home is located on almost 6 acres of land. It has all the privacy, peace and wild beauty of an Alaskan vacation. The property is conveniently located in the city limits of Homer and is only 3 to 4 miles from the city center. The house is located on a bluff that overlooks emerald lakes and the beaches of Kachemak Bay just below.
You can hear the murmur of the ocean from the porch and watch eagles soaring on the updrafts overhead. Before you stretches the waters of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet, the mountains of the Kenai range and the volcanoes of the Alaska Range.
This well kept house has a wall of windows to take full advantage of the view and thoughtfully placed window treatments to shut out the midnight sun for those not used to long daylight hours at bedtime. There is an access ramp to the house and the entire lower floor is handicapped accessible. Spend the afternoon on the large deck and grill your fish for a fresh Alaskan dinner. This house is a comfortable residence stocked with all of the conveniences of home.

About Holly Van Pelt
We are both long time Alaskans who discovered the amazing things about Homer and have made it our home. We love to fish, hike, bird-watch and kayak. Living in Homer has made these activities available right out our door. We bought this house for the sole purpose of offering it as a vacation house for travelers. We have been hosting visitors to this location since 2003. It is our pleasure to share our local knowledge with you and share our love of Alaska.

Why Holly Van Pelt chose Homer
Some of the best things about this property is the privacy and the view. The most frequent comment I get from our guests is how greatly their expectations of the cottage were exceeded when they walk through the door.
What makes this House unique
My favorite feature of the house is watching the antics of the eagles and the acrobatic ravens playing stick-drop and aero-bomber with each other on breezy days. The long bayside porch is a perfect place to relax with a morning cup of coffee or s peaceful afternoon after a day's activities.

Fun trip during a quiet time of year
Beautiful view, lots of privacy. Very clean and comfortable! I strongly recommend staying with Holly and Rex.
We were so pleased with this private home, built on the bluff overlooking the Bay. The beds were very comfortable. Two full baths. Kitchen is fully stocked. The views are stunning!!
Great place. Wonderful views
Highly recommend this home. Close to town but very private. The views are fanastic.
Very clean and comfortable! Beautiful view
Peaceful, cozy cottage
We had a cozy, quiet stay in the cottage while spending 5 days in Homer. It was a short drive to Homer and the Spit but we loved the solitude on the bluff. We especially loved the mornings watching the birds and the stunning view. The cottage enabled us to have nice dinners as it was well-stocked. We very much appreciated the washer and dryer. Thank you, Holly, for sharing your cottage!
Great location, comfortable home with everything you need for a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Our second stay was as great as before!
ocean fishing charters, fly-in bear viewing, stream fishing, clamming, tide pooling, kayaking, hiking across the bay, The bird watching is especially good from the bayside deck.
