Come share in our dream! We want to show you the Starfish Inn, the cutest house in friendly Englewood just steps from a breathtaking beach. A few years ago we came to visit a family friend and fell in love...we think you will too!
This adorable, recently remodeled house is in Englewood, Florida, which is on the Gulf of Mexico on Florida's southwest coast between Sarasota and Fort Myers. It's a true old Florida charmer, built in 1962 and remodeled in 2014, located on Lemon Avenue, just one house from the corner of Manasota Beach Rd. Only 0.2 miles down the road is Manasota Beach, the best of Manasota Key's 3 beaches! Our house is also conveniently close to all the amenities- 1-15 minutes from multiple Gulf beaches, fine-dining restaurants, beach bars and restaurants, multiple state parks, nature preserves, walking & biking trails, boat tours, fishing trip, etc.
The oversized, fenced lot (pets welcome) is full of mature tropical landscaping providing an inviting yard complete with multiple outdoor gathering spaces. The huge screened 2 story lanai off the side of the house is perfect for early morning coffee and includes eating & lounging areas. The large raised backyard deck provides the perfect place for rinsing off in the outdoor shower after a day on the nearby beach. It’s also a great spot for grilling fresh seafood complete with grill, loungers for sunbathing, dining table and seating areas. Or spend quality time in the evening with your family around the beautifully landscaped fire pit under the stars. Last but not least is the adorable front porch built around palm trees with easy access to the quaint circle driveway off the shell road. And don’t forget the constant Gulf breeze that completes every Florida beach vacation!
Manasota Key is less than 1 minute away- on foot!! The road to the beach is a few feet away as our house is only 1 from the corner of Manasota Beach Rd. There are three major county park beaches at the north (Manasota Beach), middle (Blind Pass Beach) and south end (Englewood Beach) of the Key, as well as Stump Pass State Park which, at the very south end of the Key, offers absolutely stunning views and access to the bay, the pass and the Gulf. Englewood Beach, just down from Stump Pass, is adjacent to several interesting shops and good restaurants.
To the north, it is only 10 minutes to the town of Venice, with extensive shopping/dining, and only 40 minutes to Sarasota, with all of this and its additional cultural attractions.
Check-in is 4:00 pm and check-out is 11:00 am.
Only full month periods when booking December – March.
THIS IS A NON SMOKING UNIT.

About Ashley Cosby
After visiting friends in Englewood we fell in love with the area. We decided to leave the cold Kentucky winters for sunny Florida and still feel like we're on vacation!
Ashley Cosby purchased this House in 2018
Why Ashley Cosby chose Englewood
Englewood has so much to offer. The free, daily beach yoga, sea turtles that come year after year (including one under our porch!), local farmer's market from Oct-May, art classes on Dearborn St, Lemon Bay, great fishing and diving/snorkeling, proximity to so much (Sarasota, Punta Gorda, Tampa, Ft Myers, Orlando), the list never ends! Historic Dearborn Street is a must see. So many locally owned shops, bars and restaurants on Dearborn. And the street dead ends into Lemon Bay! Full of historic, old Florida charm and only 6 mi away.
What makes this House unique
So much charm and LOCATION!! This 1962 duplex beach house has original cabinets and hardwood floors that have been brought back to life. The 4 huge porches and giant, private lot so close to the ocean were all reasons we fell in love with this property. Being 0.15 miles to the beach is unbeatable, so close you can smell the salt and feel the beach breeze. The Starfish Inn offers something for everyone.

Adorable beach house
From the colors to the décor to the amenities this is the perfect beach house. All you need to bring is your swimsuit as the kitchen, baths and porch are stocked with necessities. We loved the short walk to the beach, the back patio and screened in porch. Clean and comfortable, we will definitely recommend to friends and be back!
Awesome space, comfy and cozy. Affordable and clean; all amenities of home.
Loved our stay, wish it went another week! Great for our family of 4. 2 bed/2 full baths. Great lanai , nice new gas grill , gas fire pit and great private back yard for games or hanging out . Guest care packages in the bath rooms means you only have to bring food and your clothes they have thought of everything. We would definitely stay here again !
A gem on Lemon Ave! Quaint, home away from home, full of hospitality!
Hi everyone! So we stayed at the Starfish Inn this past weekend. First time to Manasota Key, shark tooth capital of FL. We arrived early, did a quick drive by of the place and headed to the beach until checkin. Oh yeah and beach parking was free!! First let me say that the owners were so responsive and very helpful, offering help should the need arise. So like I said we went to the beach which was within walking distance from our rental. Location, location, location! Close, but tucked back in the palms making it peaceful. Key was easy to access. When we opened the door we loved it right from first sight. Clean, wonderfully decorated, but not in a way to make you feel like don’t touch! It was home for our get away. Walmart, Publix right up the road. Steaks on the grill and cocktails by the fire pit. Total beach setting. Owners have thought of everything! House is stocked with everything one needs, just bring your clothes and the people you love! Great beaches, boating, kayaking, fishing, sunsets, comfortable vacation home! Want to get back soon! A must for anyone thinking of visiting the area!
Great place to stay for a vacation at Manisota Key Beach!
Loved being so close to the beach in this comfortable and clean cottage. Great place to stay and take day trips to Siesta Key and downtown Venice. Hope to get back some day!
The property is absolutely charming.
We had a wonderful stay in this lovely beachy cottage. It has a very relaxing decor. . Very clean and has everything you would need from going to the beach to cooking dinner. Easy walk to the beach and the outdoor shower was wonderful.
We stayed at the Starfish Inn for the month of February 2018. It was a wonderful location, on a quiet street just a few minute walk to the beach. New owners of the property Ashley and Dave were great, and were improving the property with a brand new gas grill, new shark tooth sifters for the beach and more during our stay. Ashley had good tips for restaurants and activities. Great front porch and backyard patio!
Activities on site- beach, sand dollars, sharks teeth, dolphin, manatee and sea turtle watching, redfish, & snook fishing, and relaxing & unwinding with a good book. Nearby- in addition to the many Gulf and Bay beaches and boating access points which are within striking distance, there are multiple state parks, wilderness preserves, a wild flower and bird sanctuary and an extensive biking trail system, world class tarpon fishing, nature walks, kayaks, canoes, bicycles, wave runners, & boats of all kinds available to rent at nearby marinas, sightseeing boat tours. Historical downtown area with great shopping, Art galleries, Englewood Art Center with classes available, all on Dearborn St! Unlimited restaurants nearby - from the common to world class dining. Less than 10 miles south on Manasota Key is Stump Pass Beach State Park located at the southwest corner of Charlotte County, which boasts a mile of beach where seashells and shark teeth wash up, and anglers fish the surf for prize catches. Visitors can enjoy an excellent view of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as a stretch of undeveloped Florida coastline. Visitors come to this secluded beach to enjoy the year-round swimming and sunbathing; shelling is best during the winter months.
