About this property

1 Bed in St. Dominick (oc-h28184)

Embrace the delightful and cosy atmosphere of this country retreat offering a truly authentic ‘back to nature’ experience with fantastic views over Gooseford lakes and Dartmoor beyond. This charming shepherd’s hut is the perfect place for a cosy yet luxurious couple’s break to Cornwall, with walks aplenty from your doorstep. Located on the banks of the River Tamar, Cotehele Quay is a picturesque spot where you can take a walk along the riverbank, enjoy the view, and even take a boat trip. For beach days Whitsand Bay, Downderry and Seaton beaches are all within 11 miles and are popular choices. Local attractions include Adrenaline Quarry (10 miles) and the Eden Project (30 miles), or you could venture out to the coast and visit the popular fishing village of Looe (12 miles) with its bars and restaurants, local shops, and boat trips.

Stepping up into the characterful hut you will find yourself in the open-plan kitchen/dining/sleeping area. Tucked away at the far end under the curved ceiling is a double bed with a retro tubular frame. The galley kitchen allows for cooking simple meals, and there’s a dining set with a table and chairs. The shower room is small but beautifully formed with a walk-in shower. Meticulously designed to pay homage to its rural heritage, this charming hut is adorned with simple yet tasteful furnishings, a cosy electric fire, and a wall-mounted TV to catch up on favourite programmes from the two seater cushioned bench or the comfort of the bed, making it an ideal destination for a short stay to relax and rejuvenate. Open the doors and listen to the sound of the birds singing from the trees and have breakfast al fresco enjoying the views over the orchard and woodland below.

The outside area is peaceful and gorgeous with a private seating area in which to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings and spectacular views of the countryside. There is a fire pit for cooler nights looking at the stars.
