Very good experience
The house was very well equiped with linens and kitchen needs. We appreciated the foods and snacks available for our use. We were unable to take advantage of the river due to the weather. Furniture was new and modern I didn't care for the wall paint color, but that's just my personal taste. Washer and dryer were full size and wonderful.
So my comments will echo the reviews I read before I rented the apartment. What a lovely living space and backyard view of the Willamette River! The hosts live next door and were very helpful and responded quickly to the few questions I had. I especially liked the full-size dryer (I didn't need the full-size washer) that I used to remove the wrinkles from my clothing after unpacking them. Not something you can typically do in a hotel. And the refrigerator, freezer and cabinets were stocked not just with coffee and snacks, but also other cooking incidentals such as plastic wrap, non-stick cooking spray and I am pretty sure spices as well (although I didn't use spices during my stay). I travel to Portland at least twice annually for long weekends, and I will absolutely make sure to check here first to see if the rental is available for my travel dates before checking elsewhere. Thanks Carol and Joseph for an awesome stay!
Great location by the river
We enjoyed this property and will certainly stay again. The location is a nice quiet neighborhood on the river. The front red door faces north (I think), so you're not looking at the river, but you only need to walk around the side of the house to sit on the riverfront and see the beautiful view. We loved how quiet the neighborhood is, and the property is easily accessible to public transit, freeways, restaurants and dining of all sorts. The property itself is a newly remodeled add-on to a larger home occupied by the owners. It's perfect for a couple or two couples if you don't mind sharing a bathroom. The kitchen, restroom and floors are all updated with new finishes. It's not super high end if that's what you're looking for, but it was just right for us. The owners are great landlords -- they provide a Bose stereo, very high quality towels, new bedding, lots of treats in the kitchen, and coffee (Nespresso). The big screen TV works great, and best of all, the WiFi works awesome. We recommend this property and will stay here again.
Comfortable, charming, and luxurious
This lovely guest house surpassed all of our expectations. It is well-appointed and thoughtfully & generously stocked with all manner of basic amenities and quite a few luxuries, from Dove chocolates to full laundry facilities and a riverside patio for relaxing. It provides a quiet retreat in natural surroundings from the city that is only 15 minutes away. Perfect balance for a visit to the Portland area if you want some quiet down time as well as urban culture. Carol was responsive without being at all intrusive.
Clean modern relaxing
Makes me want to move to Oregon
Beautiful river forest neighborhood, million dollar homes on the river. Portland has snow-skiing, beaches and gorgeous scenery all within a 1.5 hour drive or less.
