Granite Point is a remote haven located on Resurrection Bay, just 12 miles from Seward, Alaska. Accessible only by boat or helicopter, the property features four private cabins and one larger lodge, all perched on a dramatic cliffside. This unique location offers unparalleled views of Resurrection Bay and the surrounding mountains.
For adventurers, Granite Point is a dream come true. Enjoy direct access to our private beach, hiking trails, and complimentary use of paddleboards and kayaks. Steps from your door, find world-class paddling—explore alongside humpback whales, sea lions, and porpoises while birdwatching, fishing, or simply soaking in the magic of the fjords.
Please note, this is a remote setting. To reach your cabin, guests will ascend four steep staircases and traverse a short 30-yard trail. As such, travelers should be self-reliant, in good physical condition, and prepared for a bit of adventure. We recommend backpack-style packing, as suitcases can be difficult to manage on the stairs. Be sure to bring gear suited to your activities, including sturdy hiking boots, full rain gear, and warm synthetic layers. Additionally, guests should plan to bring their own food and ice for coolers. Bathrooms provided are outhouses or composting toilets
Please note, the Wolf Ridge Cabin is reached by another trail climbing through the rainforest another 500 feet above the bay, so please keep this in mind for packing and access.

Great adventure!
This property is all that it is advertised to be and more! The trek up the hill is a challenge, but fun at the same time. The weather wasn't particularly cooperative, but we were quite happy just hanging out at this lovely cabin with an extraordinary view.

Cabin in paradise
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Jeff's cabin. The location is second to none and the Alpine trail that Jeff maintains was icing on the cake. The cabin has everything you need to cook off-grid, including an oven that we used to make brownies. Jeff has 2 outdoor fire pits you can choose from, offering a forest or bay view - both fantastic! We hope to return sometime soon!

Wow! What a view!
The hike up was grueling. Going down wasn't much better. But the view is 100% worth it! It rained for our day on the ridge so we stayed inside playing games. Well stocked rustic cabin with comfy mattresses. Even the loo has a view. :)

Peaceful & Serene
We enjoyed our 5 year anniversary at the Wolf Lodge after honeymooning at the Fox Den in 2019. My husband and I cannot say enough great things about the cabins. It’s all the peace and quiet we need. You meet people from around the world and there’s opportunity for outdoor activities. Want to stay in? Download some movies BEFORE you go. Sometimes you get a rainy day. Thank you Jeff for everything!

Amazing!
This is an amazing place! My husband and I really enjoyed it so much! It is so peaceful and serene. The sun set every night right in front of us! The host was SO helpful! Be aware that it quite the hike up to the cabin. Pack as light as you can. It took us two arduous trips each up the hill to the cabin. It was tough but worth it!! We stayed three nights and hiked the ridge above one day which was absolutely beautiful and then kayaked the next day to beautiful coves around us on the right and left. Got to see a black bear come to the cove and catch a fish while in the kayak. ❤️ Thank you so much.

Cute cabin, read the suggestions
The cabin was beautiful. Well stocked with pots, pans, dinning wear, etc. Beds were comfortable and the cabin was the perfect retreat in rainy weather.
Here are a few suggestions if you are planning on booking this cabin and it has been recently (or is) raining:
1. Waterproof boots are a must. The trail leading up is not for the faint of heart and expect your feet to sink into several inches of mud in some places.
2. Have good balance. The trail up and the one to the outhouse is treacherous in some places (have gloves to go up and down for the ropes).
3. Bring materials for fire starting (newspaper and dry kindling), there was firewood on site. Stove is quite short and fits half-size logs.
4. There is clear fresh water available for treating on the beach and a creek and pond above the cabin.

Must Read Details
Overall, this experience was both a success and a vacation of a lifetime. Our travel crew was myself, my husband and our two adult children. We managed the climb to the cabin, gear in tow, without incident, but it is not for the faint hearted. Once of the best tips I read was to bring a pair of leather work gloves for the climb. While the rest of the family climbed bare-handed. I found it very useful when navigating the ropes. There was some precipitation every day, so the ropes were wet.We sat on the deck, looking out at the water through the trees and were greeted by two bald eagles on our 1st morning. It was a lovely adventure and an experience/place we will speak lovingly of for years to come.My two primary criticisms are:(1) While our only criteria in choosing a place to stay was that it had enough beds and two toilets, this property DOES NOT have 1.5 baths as represented in the description. It is a single outhouse, nothing else - don't plan on showering during your stay.(2) The host could not articulate what the cabin had in the way of kitchen supplies, so planning meals was a bit like throwing darts at a wall. Oh - and hopefully they have replaced the French press before you arrive. It was broken when we got there, and even if it was fully intact, I think it's an inferior product (plastic, and really only works if you make a full pot of coffee - so if you brought just enough coffee to last for your stay, you are probably screwed on your caffeine intake).

Beautiful, Alaska Wilderness Experience
I loved staying at Jeff's Wolf Ridge Cabin. Being there at one with the Alaska Wilderness was among the most memorable adventures of my lifetime. Jeff's Wolf Ridge Cabin provides the Alaska Wilderness experience.
Levi was waiting at the beach when I arrived, he was very helpful in helping me navigate the trail up to Jeff's Cabin. And when it was time for me to check out, he was very helpful at helping me navigate back down the trail. The trail has a rope to help you pull yourself up the hill and back down and you will need to hold on to this rope. I would give the trail a rating of strenuous (e.g. not easy and not moderate - but strenuous).
Be prepared:
1) Again, this is a Basic Cabin in the Alaska Wilderness; but it also provides a $1,000,000 view; and you will have to work for it.
2) I traversed the hill on a couple of separate occasions while I was there, by myself. It took me about 45 minutes to ascend and about 30 minutes to descend.
3) I knew beforehand that all of my belongings - and food - for several days - would all need to fit into a single 80L backpack. I brought one 80L backpack (for up to 5 days stay) and hiking poles. For food, I brought 5 days worth of the 'Backpackers Pantry' meals. 4) Go light on dirtying up the dishes. I boiled rainwater to wash the dishes. Boiling water consumes resources. So go easy on burning through the propane.
5) I boiled water for all of my french press coffee and I boiled water for all of my 'Backpackers Pantry' meals. In 4 days I only used 1 propane canister.
6) Bring the battery bricks for charging your smartphone. I brought 2 of them and I never had to conserve the battery on my smartphone, although I did keep it in airplane mode (just to maximize battery conservation).
7) They have a cell phone boost antenna at the cabin if you need to make a call with your cell phone. You will need to run the generator to generate electricity in order to do this.
8) Go easy on running the generator and don't burn through all of the gas. In my 4 days, I never ran the generator out of gas. The generator was easy to start, like pull starting a lawnmower. It usually starts on the 1st or second pull.
9) With the cell boost, I was able to call my family (my wife, and my mother) every day to let them know how my adventure was going.
10) Again, you will want to be able to bring all of your belongings in one trip up the hill, in one 80l backpack - per person.

Breathtaking views, peaceful, adventure!
This was an experience of a lifetime for our family (ages 12, 15 , adult). The hike to wolf ridge cabin and surrounds are for the adventurous and it’s physically demanding. We absolutely loved every detail. We had mixed weather and that will change the experience in terms of views and ease. We greatly appreciated Jeff’s communication to help us prepare, and also on site manager Levi is a gem who encouraged us to go to top of alpine trail (exceptional full day experience), helped us w sea kayaking, and set up our son with fishing gear. Thank you!

Coming back!
We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be coming back. The dogs had a blast and the blueberries were EVERYWHERE. Water was a bit choppy for kayaking, but we took full advantage of hiking, enjoying the scenery, lounging by the fire and berry picking. Kitchen was plenty stocked for cooking, plenty of fire wood, propane for the stove and gas for the generator. Come prepared with food and water. The rain water collection was perfect for washing dishes. Bed and bedding were perfect.

Great stay 'off the grid'
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin. What a unique property with a great setting. While there we utilized the kayaks to explore the bay as well as the alpine trail in the back for hiking. Transport in and out was easy (we had a fun boat ride and helicopter ride on our way in and out). Thank you for the great stay!

AMAZING
Wow...this place was amazing! The views are great, breathless and the cabin was clean and comfortable. The surrounding hikes and beach were incredible. The hike up was challenging but we did it up and down at least one everyday we were there. We kayaked, ished, hiked, caught fish and made the fish to eat at the cabin. Having a fire outside was fun. Would recommend to all who are in for an off the grid, beautiful, relaxing and amazing experience. Thank you!!

Great cabin - read before you go
We loved staying at this cabin and would definitely do so again. If you're looking to experience 'real Alaska', this is the place. It's inaccessible by road and you'll be isolated to an idyllic location on Resurrection Bay where you can have a beach day, kayak, paddleboard, or hike to a glacier, or just enjoy your patio view of the bay.
You should know: The hike to the cabin is not easy. It's very steep and through slipper terrain up a steep grade. Jeff placed ropes there that helped us out a ton, but we were commenting that a few of our guy friends back in Chicago would not have made that hike, and you have to make it every day to leave your cabin. So word would be: pack lightly, pack in a single backpack type of bag (you literally can't carry multiple bags on this hike), and wear good shoes. Bring your bug repellent. Know that there's plenty of firewood there and you can make clean water by boiling the rainwater collection system he's created, so you don't have to bring a TON.
The glacier hike is not marked super well towards the top, which we didn't mind. This was the 'wildest' Alaska hike we've been on since the trail really isn't there, it's just a suggestion of where to hike with a lot of roots and brush in the way. Our bear country hike method was to carry a portable speaker, and it worked wonderfully. The hike is advanced. There is a rock slide with medium/large boulders and you need to know where to step (and where not to). The top of the mountain is sort of a knife's edge view of the glacier, but we had lunch there and loved it.
The beach: Loved it! Great kayaks, too. I would highly recommend packing an inflatable beach lounge/sofa for yourself and whoever's in your party. These are cheap and we used ours since the beach is rocky and loved it. They doubled as 'rafts' in shallow water, too. If you're into trying out Alaska cannabis, this was a great place to experience it!
In summary, loved the place, plan to visit again, and is probably as close to 'real alaska' as you can get. I think the price of the cabin is probably somewhat tied to the publicity of the show for Building Alaska, but not a bad deal nonetheless. We've also rented dry cabins on Kenai Lake.

All around amazing!
My husband and I came to Alaska for our honeymoon. We had heard about these cabin rentals from a coworker of mine and knew we had to stay here.
I am so happy we booked Wolf Ridge!! The water taxi to the cabin was a great addition to the trip (you do have to book this service separately, but so worth it).
Once you get to the beach there is a bit of a hike to all the other cabins and lodge. Wolf Ridge is a bit longer hike than the others. The description: 20 minute, grueling hike is so accurate! It is a trek to Wolf Ridge but for us, this is exactly what we wanted. Once you get to the cabin the view is unlike any other. The cabin had everything we needed. We were able to pack everything (food, drinks, clothes) in our two backpacks for the two nights and it was just enough.
When we come back to Alaska, we will definitely be staying here again.
Thanks Jeff!!
