Good but on the edge towards 'ok'.
Doubting between 3 and 4 stars (wanted 3,5) but the kindness of the staff and the good hub to explore the area brought me to 4 but I do hope my recommendations re. the room are followed up.
We stayed in a studio with a family of 4 including 2 teenagers aged 17 and 14. The studio looked nice but the sofa bed was of a rather bad quality whereas the 2 single beds were great. The shower was a stand alone not in great shape cabin in the bathroom and a little bit unstable (it could use a fixation and some repairs ). The Wifi you can forget, but thanks to the changed EU terms for roaming we could use our own 'bundle' as the speed and availability of the wifi was terrible at Artina.
Location is great for exploring the area and there're lots of restaurants, most of them the type "grab the tourist to get in' but a bit away from these 'proppers' you will find Riki as a great restaurant with a nice atmosphere and sunset. Pool at the hotel very good and as said before extremely pleasant staff at the property. Breakfast ok, daily cleaning of the studio. Nice beaches in the area
Beautiful hotel in nice area with friendly staff
This was really one of the better hotels we ever had in Greece. We went for the first time to the Messinia region and stayed for one week in a 2-room appartment. The hotel is runned by a friendly, cordial and hospitable family and it has a competent and helpful staf. Room service is excellent, the pool is clean and well kept and the atmosphere is comfortable and quiet. There are a lot of possibilities to explore the region. Lovers of Greek history find their way in places as e.g. Pylos or Chora. Nature lovers can admire the beautiful waterfalls of Polylimnio or become overwhelmed by the view on the Voidokilia beach from above at the Paleokastro. After each trip it is a pleasure to come back home at the hotel and to enjoy a drink at the lovely pool or have a dinner at a terrace of one of the many taverna’s at the seaside. We can definitely recommend this hotel for everyone who likes contact withe the real Greek life. Therefore we give a deserved maximal score!
Greek hospitality and nice surroundings
Greek hospitality and kindness is what we will remember of our stay at the hotel and the village of Marathopoli. All the staff is very helpful to let you enjoy your holiday and help you to learn the Greek way of living.
We went all along the beautiful coast to visit places like Olympia and Methoni, but when coming "home" in Marathopoli it was really coming home.
We've been a week at Artina Nuovo and we loved every second of it. Babis, the son of the owner, is the best host we've ever met. He gave us nice suggestions to go to places and we had a lot of pleasant talks. It's a quiet, friendly village, Marathopoli. So if you want to relax en see a beautiful part of Greece, this is for sure a chance to take!

Séjour reposant et cadre magnifique
Séjour très agréable. Excellent accueil que ce soit tard lors de notre arrivée ou les jours suivants. Dommage qu'il n'était pas précisé que la piscine était vide à cette période.
We had a great two week holiday at Artina Nouvo. Exceptionally friendly and serviceminded family runs this lovely Hotel with seaview. We overslept one morning and they fixed a private breakfast just for us! Thanks so much!
Great service with toasts, coffee and club sandwich at the pool if you want. Would Love to go again.
In the city where the resort is located, there are many small and cozy tavernas and cafes, shops on food.
The area offers some of the best sandy beaches in Greece, there are beaches both south and north of the property, a good selection. One of these sites has a dive school. There may snorkelling are many places in the area, for example, you can take a trip by boat to the island which is located right next to the apartment, here are both the beach and rocks.
To the south you can visit Pilo -Methoni - Koroni all exciting cities with castles that can be seen. To the north is Olympia a great place and the area it to see and feel where the Olympic Games were held from 776 f. Kr. Here is also a very large museum.
Taking the east is Kalamata also an exciting city known for its olives. There is an old town, with the Latin Quarter and museum, also the newer district with many fashion boutiques.
There is also a historic area fair - east of the apartment, an excavated city with many archaeological finds and its museum. Driving time to do so about 1 hour.
