We were in the area for a wedding and stayed 3 nights. We all enjoyed the beautiful location and wished we could stay longer. Additionally, the beds and pillows were clean and comfortable which is very important to us. We really had no complaints! It was a lovely stay.
It was so good to come “home” to the River House each day of our week long stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. We cooked most breakfasts and some dinners and were happy to find the kitchen wrll equipped. These hists are A++
My husband and I rented this place to spend time with his family that live in Oregon. It was perfect. Conveniently located and such a peaceful place to relax. We will be back for sure!
This is a really terrific property, completely outfitted for family fun! The river access is good, and the hosts provide a lot of fun toys. The beds are comfortable and the kitchens are well-equipped. Hank and Laurie and really attentive and caring hosts. You can't go wrong with this rental!! We will definitely go back!

Thank you so much, we are so glad you had a good time. Thank you also for taking such good care of the cabins, you are welcome back anytime!
Although it was a very rainy stay, it was very relaxing. The two houses were perfect for our family. We enjoyed breaks in the weather to see people out kayaking the river. The river is very close and it was very interesting to see how much it raises with the amount of rain that we had. Very enjoyable stay and I can see why this is probably a very popular spot in the summer.
The properties were outstanding!
Views of the river from every room.
Hank & Laurie were both so kind & helpful.
The cabin had so many unique features & it was so cozy! We were so grateful to have everything we needed right there in the cabin.
Thank you Hank & Laurie for making our first Vrbo experience one we'll never forget!
Our family loved the home and location! The kids enjoyed the river, the beach area and sauna very much and according to our youngest “This place will be in my heart forever!” Henry and Laurie were excellent host and thought of everything to make our stay fabulous by getting us a kid sized life jacket, extra tubes and water shoes as we couldn’t bring it with us since we were flying in. We recommend those staying here to check out Naked Falls past Doogan Falls as it had great rocks to jump in the waterfalls - another highlight for the family. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to PNW.

What a kind heart you youngest has, so glad you all had a good time and enjoyed the amenities. I haven't been to Naked Falls in years but now I cannot wait to return and explore it again. I forget to tell guests about all of the many wonders that this river has including agates right across the river. Thank you for leaving the cabins in such tip-top shape. You and your wonderful family are welcome anytime!
We celebrated my son's 18th birthday. He invited 2 friends and they had great time exploring the river with fish camera, using the sauna and plying games in their own basement sanctuary. The kitchen was will equipped. Lots of places to gather, chat and eat. I highly recommend.
A lovely property right on the Washougal river. The owner was very accommodating due to the (record?) high river level, offering a full refund if we were uncomfortable with the situation. We ended up staying and loving the rushing water and seeing the adventurous kayakers. The living quarters were cozy and warm, with a well appointed kitchen. Despite some internet limitations, we really enjoyed our stay and will be looking for another opportunity to stay when visiting the Portland area.
The entire experience of renting and staying at the river house was fantastic!! Hank met us right on time, showed us around the property, and later on when we called about internet hook up he was a tech wiz We are grandparents in town for first communion, our grandboys came to visit us and they never left They were busy with puzzles, games, watching the geese, wading in the river. We all had such a fun time it was very sad to leave for home and the racing of the rats.
My mom and I rented both cabins for a long weekend, and there was so much space for just the two of us! There were a multitude of decks with comfortable seating to choose from. It was perfectly set up for one or more families - enough seating/space for large groups, but lots of beautiful nooks for spending a quiet moment alone. Hank and Laurie were wonderful hosts, and it’s clear they’ve put a lot of love and care into making this a perfect family retreat. The beds in both cabins were incredibly comfortable, the AC worked really well, and there were tons of “extras” (like water shoes, nets, and rafts). The location was just right for exploring Portland and hiking waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge. But our favorite memories were made at the cabins themselves - especially morning coffees while overlooking the river, and the refreshing floats down the river. Thank you so much, Hank and Laurie, for an absolutely wonderful trip!

Thank you so much, we appreciate your kind words and for you choosing to stay at our little slice of paradise.
My wife and I stayed for a week with our adult son, daughter and son in law in this amazing cozy home right on the Washougal river. Such incredible views from every room, decks and outside seating all over at different levels, even right by the water, combining a rustic feel with great comfort and a multitude of entertainment opportunities. The two attached cabins have comfortable beds and bathrooms as well as well stocked kitchens. We used the sauna a couple of days, so wonderful when used with the attached shower and a dip in the river! There are plenty of floatation devices that can be used to float down the river. Even though the property is right by the road, you don’t see it and it feels very private. There are too many unique features of this property to mention in this review. Finally and importantly, Hank is an amazing host and owner! He’ll go out of his way to make sure that you’re happy and enjoy your stay, and he’s very easy to communicate with. Everyone in the group absolutely loved this vacation!
This was really an amazing weekend along the Washougal River. The house has direct access to the river, a private beach, sauna, fireplace, and was exactly what we had hoped for. Hank was super gracious, friendly, and available. We fished at the house, fished the Columbia River, ate in town, and cooked at the house. It was really a great weekend at a great house.
What a wonderful, relaxing time we had at this house on the river! House was great and the owner met us at the house to give us the run down of the property. We will be back for sure! So Beautiful!
Ideal location for everything we wanted to do. Slept with my window open listening to the stream all night. It was like being home.
Great hosts. Heartily recommend.
