Join us for the holidays at The Milford House!
This time of year is for celebrations and reflection.
There are so many things to do in the immediate area. There are historic celebrations at each of the river towns including Milford, Frenchtown, Lambertville, New Hope and many others. The reenactment of Washington crossing the Delaware is something not to be missed. Just a short distance from Milford is Peddlers Village where the entire village area and each of the shops are decorated for the Holidays.
Just a bit further is Doylestwon Boro and the Mercer Museum, Fonthill Castle, H Mercer’s Unique cast in place concrete home and the Moravian Tile Works all beautifully decorated for the Holidays.
While you are enjoying the holiday festivities you can dine at any one of the areas many 5 star restaurants and then take in a movie at the historic County Theatre.
This is a great time to visit The Milford House.
Fall color on the Delaware is beautiful especially if you are tubing or kayaking. You can experience the change of seasons from the River or sitting on the River porch.
The Winter season is one for Holiday celebrations or peaceful relaxation on the River.
Spring is one of the most beautiful along the River. With Spring comes the new life of flowers, trees and shrubs. Everything comes back to life and is a great time for personal rejuvenation.
The Summer brings both river activities and lazy relaxation. Whether you want to sit on the River porch during the day or have an evening dinner on the screen porch with family and friends the Milford House is the ideal place to have your vacation or a weekend getaway.
To provide our guests more time to enjoy their time at the Milford House Kathy and I are extending your stay. Check in time is now 2 pm and check out time is now 12:00 noon. If you need more flexibility just ask!
If you are looking for a quiet, restful escape, "The Milford House" is perfect for you. Sit on the River porch under the ceiling fans and enjoy the stunning, unobstructed, waterfront views of the Delaware River; or enjoy a family meal on the large, screened-in side-porch overlooking the large, fenced-in yard. Wildlife, including bald eagles, deer and geese are sure to visit in the evening. In the warmer months you can see the boaters and tubers enjoying the day, while in the cooler months, witness the fall colors and the unique image of a snowy river.
The Milford House was completely renovated in 2017/2018 by the owners, Don & Kathy. Old world charm and lots of attention to detail including exposed beams, bead-board ceilings with fans both inside and outside, beautiful landscaping, random width wood floors, double french doors, floor to ceiling windows, and a warm, gas stove make this house a unique experience for all our guests.
We provide all sheets, towels, and wash cloths. For this there is a small laundry charge in the fee schedule. Should you prefer to bring your own sheets, towels, and wash cloths, please let us know and we will edit the fee charges to delete the laundry fee.

Although our home has beautiful river views, the river bank is steep and access is only for the adventurous. Our grandchildren have negotiated the steep hill several times but it is challenging. There is a boat launch area right across the river on the PA side, just a few minutes away. But there are also numerous areas with river access on both the NJ and PA sides very close by.
There are railroad tracks that run up the river and in front of our home. These tracks are inactive and create a great walking path north and south along the river.
During your stay, if you feel you need to venture out of this quaint location, you can walk 5 minutes into town and dine at one of the local Milford restaurants. If you like Mexican food, try the Blue Corn Grill; for beer lovers you'll need to stop at new Jersey's first craft brewery, the Ship Inn; or have an elegant seafood dinner at the Milford House. For the more adventurous, you can continue to walk (or ride your bikes) across the bridge into Upper Black Eddy, PA and onto the canal path. This historical amenity is a leisurely, flat path that goes along the Delaware River through charming, little towns and next to places like the Homestead General Store where you can stop for unique sandwiches, rich coffee, or tasty ice cream.
