Perfect place for a relaxing holiday

We greatly enjoyed our stay at house Sangens. Quiet location, wonderful swimming pool, great view from the huge well-maintained garden and the house has all you need. Bedrooms are spacious with high ceilings and modern bathrooms.

Lovely secluded holiday home

Beautiful secluded holiday home in the mountains with wonderful views. No neighbors and lots of peace. 20 minutes drive to the next big town (Ponte de Lima).

A hidden oasis surrounded by nature

We truly enjoyed our stay in this magical property. Behind the doors, you will find a hidden oasis with a lush garden and breathtaking views surrounded by nature. The house itself has everything you need, and we especially enjoyed the swimming pool during warm days. Thank you, Rui and Madalena we can't wait to visit again hopefully soon :)

Beautiful location and house. Pictures don't do it justice

The owners were very friendly. The house had lovely big modern bedrooms and bathrooms with loads of space downstairs. Everything was lovely and clean and well kept. The views were amazing and the small village very picturesque.

Lovely house

Madalena and Rui have received us warmly. They are very hospitable and responded promptly to a request from our side. Casa de Sangens is an ideal place for a peaceful holiday. We enjoyed the large garden and the beautiful, lovingly furnished house. The only thing out of character was the cheap plastic garden furniture. Hopefully, this will soon be replaced by furniture as on the pictures on the website.

Thank you very much for your kind words and we're glad that you and your family enjoyed the stay. Regarding the garden furniture, we place the plastic one by default since storing the wooden and fabric chairs everynight is required to protect the fabric from getting wet as the irrigation starts automatically. Most guests prefer the plastic solution seeing that in the case of forgetting to store them they would dry in time for breakfast, as opposed the fabric chairs. However, the picture's furniture is available. We apologize because we should have asked you for your preference.

Beautiful house, in a gorgeous location

Amazing house, with far stretching views. Pool was a blessing in the heat; my childrens favourite feature by far. We loved the classical style house, which featured sympathetic furniture and everything we needed for our 2 week stay. It was a wonderful place to stop and spend quality time as a family. The road/lane up is narrow - we have a large suv which we used daily. It was a squeeze but if taken slowly is do-able. As Rui said the more you drive it, the easier it gets; so true. A car is a must though for thia location. Madalena was so helpful and understanding; her local knowledge was invaluable. Thank you for letting us stay in your house and make so many new family memories.

Romantic bliss at the end of the road

Casa San Gens is a wildly romantic property, literally where the road ends in the forgotten Hamlet of San Gens. It is the creation of two intellectual people, Madalena and Rui. It is a house way more beautiful than its pictures portray it. The views from the pool towards the mountains and foothills that surround it are quite simply magical. The garden is a wonder of simplistic elegance. The pool luxuriously cool and refreshing. Absolutely nobody is there to disturb you. The house itself is cool with high ceilings, adequate furniture and a good selection of Nobel prize winner authors. The bedrooms are all on the second storey. The morning light illuminating the corridor is another example of simple magic, as are the views from the master bedroom. The bathrooms are very well executed. The road to the house does not cater for a wide saloon car. There are lovely walks right out of the front door of the house. This is a property to fall in love with.

Ein kleines Paradies in den Bergen Nord Portugals

Unsere Erwartungen wurden noch übertroffen. Ein so geschmackvoll eingerichtetes, großräumiges Haus mit allem, was man sich zur Erholung im Urlaub wünscht. Der Garten ist liebevoll gepflegt und großartig, die Aussicht wundervoll, der Pool mit einem gigantischen Blick über das ganze Tal. Die Bäder sind auf höchstem Standard modern und großräumig. Der Gastgeber, der uns persönlich begrüßte und empfing, war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt eine Traumwoche für uns und unsere Kinder. Ein Tipp: Auto dringend erforderlich!

We loved that nice little village with the stone houses. Also the calm area, the open structure of your house, the garden with the view in the mountains. It was the perfect place to calm down. It s now on our list for places to come back.

A casa é tal como se vê no anuncio: rodeada de natureza, silencio e tranquilidade; uma boa piscina e um bom jardim para os mais novos correrem e brincarem, e um óptimo espaço para uns almoços na "esplanada". A casa é bonita e tem tudo o que é necessário, a cozinha é boa e esta bem equipada. A casa esta preparada para receber crianças em segurança. Mountaintop Getaway

This beautiful property sits at the end of a mountain road and overlooks the lush wine valleys below. An updated stone farmhouse with a galley kitchen, well laid out space and a pool within 20 mins on Ponte de Lima. Rui and Madalena were very responsive. A peaceful respite from the noise of the world.

Idyllic Retreat. When you go through the Red Door, you enter another world! The Casa Sagens is perfect in its simplicity, situation, and amenities. We spent days visiting towns in the area and rushing home to be at Casa Sangens. Rui and Magdalena were exceptional hosts. Could not recommend more highly. Lord willing, we will return!!

Erholung pur!

Man betritt das Grundstück durch ein großes Tor und befindet sich in einem kleinen Paradies. Eine wunderbare Außenanlage, großzügig gestaltet mit einem weitem Blick, welche vielfältige Möglichkeiten zum relaxen, aktiv sein (inkl. der Möglichkeit eines Pools) und dem gemeinsamen genießen von Mahlzeiten bietet. Egal, ob in der Sonne oder auch mal im Schatten. Die Sonnenuntergänge sind jedes mal anders und ein Erlebnis. Die letzten 300 m zum Haus sind für den Fahrer tatsächlich etwas anspruchsvoller, da der Weg ein holpriger Feldweg ist. Das Haus war super sauber, sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet und bot für uns 5 erwachsene Personen durchaus auch einen Ort, wo man sich zurückziehen konnte. Die Betten waren groß genug und bequem und die beiden Bäder bestens ausgestattet. Wer, wie wir, gerne gute Mahlzeiten bereitet, brauchte auf nichts zu verzichten. Die Küche war gut und reichlich mit allem ausgestattet. Die Vermieter waren sehr besorgt und immer ansprechbar über Internet, sobald Fragen aufkamen. Alles in allem war die Abwicklung sehr unkompliziert. Sehr empfehlenswert! Wir planen eine Wiederholung.

Am Ende der Straße, steht ein Haus.

Meine Familie und ich haben hier einen wunderschönen Urlaub verbracht, das Haus ist traumhaft schön. Allein der sehr gepflegte, und schön angelegte Garten ist ein Traum. Das Haus mit den Natursteinen passt sich Perfekt in die Landschaft ein, am oberen Bereich befindet sich der schöne große Pool. Mit der Vermieterin hatten wir einen sehr netten Kontakt. Das Haus befindet sich in einem kleinen ruhigen Dorf, die Zufahrt zum Haus ist etwas schwer zu erreichen. Aber dennoch Lohnenswert! Am Ende der Straße, steht ein Haus. Fam. Nunes
