FABULOUS VIEW OF LAKE
This was small town living at its best! From the cows mooing to the 6am and 8am church bells tolling. The perfect alarm clock for urban people.
Brett introduced himself the first day and offered any help we needed. The grill had two full tanks of LP gas. There was plenty of TP and paper towels, plus other sundries you forget to purchase at the store. The beds were comfortable. The only downfall was the fishing. The biggest we caught was a 3" perch!
We had the perfect family reunion there. Thank you Brett!!!!!!!
Oh, the view!
This was a super clean house and was as described. The view of the lake was AMAZING! Brett was kindly waiting for us outside the property to help us find it at a dark 10 pm at night. He responded quickly to a request we had. The hill down to the pier is a little steep. However, there is a public landing VERY close that people with challenges could wait at and be picked up by one of the water craft available to you. Nice place to stay!
Avoid - extremely dissatisfied - will NOT return. Who treats guests like this?
I am probably out of touch with the realities of long-distance travels since I usually drive my own car and stay in motels. But I have never had a motel or a VRBO property owner ring the doorbell of the home / room I'm staying in to ask how many people are inside the property. My 20-something son and daughter and I turned in for the night around 10:30 PM on 5/26. On my way around from the backyard where we had been sitting and listening to baseball games to the front door of the home, my son and I unexpectedly met the property owner standing on the sidewalk of the front yard. Pleasantries were exchanged, and the questions asked by the owner at the time involved how we found the place and if we had any questions. Since we were turning in for the night in order to make an early breakfast the next morning, we said goodnight and went to our rooms. At 11:13 PM, the doorbell rings, according to my kids (I was sound asleep and did not here the first instance, so they came to my room to wake me up and tell me there was someone at the front door) and then shortly thereafter it rings again. I get to the door and it is the property owner asking "How many people are in there?" I responded, "3". The owner stated that it was important that I make the change on the reservation to reflect this "for insurance purposes" and could I please take care of that tomorrow. I indicated I would and said good night again. The next morning, called VRBO customer service for help, as I could not find on line where I could make the requested change "for insurance purposes". VRBO escalated my ticket, and the response I got from level 2 was that there is not a way for a guest to do what the owner was asking, and that any changes to the guest count needed to be done from the owner side of things. The CSR telephoned the owner while I was on hold to explain this, and a few minutes later I got a VRBO-email that the owner had authorized the CSR to maee the changes on his behalf. When I looked in my email to confirm, that's also when I noticed that the owner had also sent me an email around 10PM the previous night asking how many were staying, and he also sent a text around the same time asking the same question. My phone is set to "do not disturb" in the evenings, so I didn't see that the owner was also trying to contact me prior to ringing the doorbell. Waking guests after lights out to personally ask questions "for insurance purposes" is why we cannot recommend this place.
On Sunday, May 26, 2019, Memorial Day Weekend, I returned home from a business trip and drove to my property to make certain that my guests were comfortable and to answer any questions they might have. I had a short cordial meeting with the renter and his son; everything was fine. Only 2 guests were registered. Certain observations made me believe there were more than 2 people there. It was not communicated to me that there would be more than 2 guests staying. So I sent a message to my guest, but there was no reply. For safety reasons, I truly believed this to be important given the circumstances. So I rang the doorbell, spoke to the renter who told me yes, indeed, there were 3 people. The renter stated and confirmed knowing there were 2 registered. Therefore, I asked him to contact VRBO to inform them there was a 3rd person.
Everything was perfect. Comfy bed and furniture. Gorgeous view of lake. Had everything we needed and more. Clean and cozy!
We greatly appreciate your visit to our community. Glad you were able to enjoy the view of the Lake. Thank you for leaving everything in excellent, five-star condition. You are more than welcome to stay again.
