This cabin is NOT Pet-friendly. Four of our other cabins are, however, Cabins 3,4, 6 and 8.

Mountain Canyon Cabin is adjacent to the Little Salmon River in central Idaho near Riggins, the whitewater rafting capital of Idaho. Fishing, boating, rafting, hiking, skiing, OUTDOOR PARADISE!

Please note that if this cabin is reserved for the date you want, we have six other cabins. Message us to find out more.

Come get away from it all and get comfortable in our cozy 3-bedroom cabin on the river. This cozy cabin has a full kitchen along with the 3 Bedrooms. Cell service is unreliable here, and WiFi is available but minimal, So plan for peace and quiet.
The place is supplied with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and all the linens you need. Beds are made and ready to roll into. Towels hanging in the bathroom.

Cute Cabin

What a cute little cabin located on the river. Keith was very responsive and a great host. The unit was very clean and was very well supplied. Cabin is located within the Pinehurst Resort, which if we had know that prior to arrival, would have helped us locate the unit easier, also might have been easier to find in the day light. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely stay here again, next time we're in the area!

Beautiful setting on the Little Salmon River

Beautiful location and clean, comfortable cabin with everything you need included. Owners were very responsive to my questions and accepted a package of items I had forgotten that I needed to be mailed to me. Lots to do for families but also enough quiet for relaxing on your own. Tip, though, if you’re going to the Hells Canyon National Park in Oregon, if your GPS says to take Hess Road, don’t do it unless you have AWD equipped with tires suited to major off roading!! I spent my day in Oregon getting a new tire as my vehicle is AWD, but my tires are not. 😊

A cozy stay

We rented cabin 4 but there might be a glitch in the system because they initially had a smaller cabin down for us. When I called to verify the facts they took care of it and were very kind. We loved being on the river and the cabin over met our expectations. We had a cozy stay!

Great little cabin!

This was perfect for our crew to ski Brundage for the weekend. Simple, nice, little cabin. The old double bed made for a slightly rough nights rest, but overall it was a delightful experience.

Beautiful Property, highly recommend- but call first

The stay was great! It was like taking a much needed step back into simpler times, with no service, wifi, or tvs. There are a ton of board games, card games & books to be borrowed during your stay-- I LOVED this. The property was amazing, the river noise is peaceful & there are many spots along to sit and enjoy the view. Fire pits & wood on site for purchase as well. I recommend calling ahead before booking to get specifics on cabins as they all vary a bit & there are 8 cabins I believe. Not all cabins have kitchens. & cabin 7 & 8 are roadside instead of riverside. There was a bit of misinformation on the owners part and lack of understanding on my part about which cabin we would be in. We were expecting to stay in cabin 2 (Kitchen & riverside) as the reservation stated- this was all I could see without service and access to the emails with owners. Upon arrival the owners were not on site but their daughter was and she was very helpful. We were given cabin 5 (riverside but no kitchen) and ended up in 8 ( roadside with a kitchen- no oven, not sure if any have ovens), Once I had phone service & reread the messages with owners I saw our reservations stated Cabin 2 but they instructed us to check into 4 which is riverside but I am unsure if it has a kitchen. Thisis the only reason I did not give 5 stars on the check in, accuracy & communication. We only brought food needing to be cooked otherwise I would have been fine in 5 or any cabin---Cabin 5 is quaint with three twin beds, a mini fridge and a microwave. The owners were amazing & worked with us through the confusion & helped us out as much as they could in order to make us as comfortable as possible, which was amazing considering the property was almost 100% booked. My only other recommendation for travelers is to buy/bring a dish sponge & give the dishes a good rinse/wash before use. The owners do a lot to maintain this beautiful property & they ask that guests leave kitchens clean, as they find them, but not everyone has the same standard of clean as the next & most dishes are stacked in the cabins, so not noticeable until pulling them all out. Giving the dishes you use a thorough scrub before you take off is highly recommended for the longevity of the cabins! Everything else in the cabin was very clean & we highly recommend staying! The beds were also very comfortable

Great place to stay

The property was beautiful. We stayed in cottage #4 instead of #2. There was a double booking but we were able to stay at the end of the week so everything worked out. Really enjoyed the whole property, watching the river flow. Ready to go back.

Rustic Cabins

The cabin that is available will not necessarily be the one in picture and description on VRBO. Refrigerator was not plugged in when we arrived with our food needing storage. Cabins are right off the highway so there is some road noise. RVs also parked on property. Adequate.

Perfect little place!

Stayed here after a half day rafting trip in Riggins. Owners were gracious hosts and easy to work with. Cabin is just what we needed - only wish we'd brought our fishing poles! Enjoyed having coffee on the steps down by the river in the morning.

Rest and Relax in the most soothing setting

We had a wonderful week on the river. Vicki and Keith could not have been more inviting. We will certainly return. Gave it 5 stars because 10 was not available. Thank you so much Towle Family 😃

It was a dream for Keith and Vicki to own and run a campground for years and the dream was realized when they bought Pinehurst in 2017! They are constantly looking for ways to improve the guest experience and welcome feedback. Hospitality is what they love and it’s reflected in their slogan “You’re only a stranger once”.

Pinehurst is a small boutique resort with 7 cabins and 7 RV spaces as well as 2 parked RV rentals. Our resort is right along the Little Salmon River, 12 miles south of Riggins, Idaho and 21 miles north of New Meadows, Idaho on HWY 95. We are uniquely located in a canyon which is one of the deepest gorges in North America. The area is known as “Idaho’s Whitewater Capital” with multiple companies offering river trips and excursions in the nearby Salmon River and Snake River.

WIFI – WIFI is available at no charge to our guests. Please note that on certain days during peak usage it is possible the WIFI may not work as well.

CELL SERVICE – We’re sorry but most cell phones will not work. You may able to make calls using various WIFI options. If there is an emergency we have a landline phone in the office you may use.

MICROWAVE, FRIDGE, COFFEE MAKER - All cabins have coffee makers, microwaves and mini-fridges while some of our larger cabins have full kitchens and kitchenettes. Cabins with kitchens are supplied with dishes and cookware.

BEDROOM COMFORTS - All cabins have extra pillows and blankets. During the winter we use cozy flannel sheets. All cabins have extra heaters to stay toasty in the winter and AC to stay cool in the summer

FISHING - All registered guests may fish in the Little Salmon River bordering Pinehurst.

ONSITE LEISURE ACTIVITIES - Our resort has a volleyball area, horseshoes and corn hole for your outdoor enjoyment. We also provide board games in each cabin and loan additional games from the office for when you’d rather stay indoors.

BARBECUING & CAMPFIRES - Each guest has access to a fire ring for campfires and outdoor grill for barbecuing.

FIREWOOD – Firewood for use in fire pits is available for $7 per bundle. Ask us at the office.

NEARBY SHOPPING – Please note that the store next door is no longer in business. Your best bet for grocery shopping will be in either Riggins (14 miles away) or New Meadows (22 miles away)
