About this property

Le Vieux Logis, in the heart of a charming hamlet

The cottage is ideally located between the Dordogne valley and its many castles, and the country of Man with its prehistoric sites. For information, Sarlat is 20 minutes, Les Eyzies 5 minutes, Saint Cyprien with its market and all shops are 5 minutes, Lascaux 30 minutes and the most beautiful castles only 10 minutes.
Dating back to the 16th century, the house was renovated in 2017 to better accommodate its guests and offer them a pleasant stay. We have been classified 4 stars in Rural Cottage under the prefectural number 02401024-39617-0064.
The gîte, positioned in the center of a 5,000m² park, covers an area of approximately 150m², and is made up of:
  * upstairs: 3 beautiful bedrooms (21, 15 and 13m²) with large new 160x200 beds of very good quality, and 2 shower rooms (one with a 90x90 shower, a sink and a toilet; the other with a small 120cm bathtub and a sink); bed linen and towels are provided (one set per bed and one large towel per person);
  * on the ground floor: kitchen (equipped according to modern criteria with dishwasher and washing machine in particular, kitchen utensils and dishes in number are included), living-dining room with TV, a WC and an entrance allowing access to the Private parking.
WIFI is available but the internet speed is not broadband (we hope to have it soon !!).
A sheltered terrace offers a beautiful dining area directly adjacent to the kitchen and the garden.
To enhance your holidays, we have created an 8m by 4m swimming pool with a 75m² beach, which is sunny all day long.
For your stays or weekend in winter, the stove is at your disposal for beautiful outbreaks. The central heating is switched on when it starts to get cold. The additional cost is € 8 / day in addition to the rent.
The jaccuzi is no longer current, the swimming pool having supplanted it! We are thinking about maybe designing a new one in a dedicated space ... to follow!

Schönes renoviertes Bauernhaus

Wir verbrachten eine erholsame Woche in dem wunderschönen Ferienhaus, das sehr liebevoll eingerichtet ist. Das Haus ist von einer großen Wiese mit beheiztem pool umgeben. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Vivez le charme de la Dordogne

Une très jolie maison lumineuse et chic dans un hameau charmant. Les propriétaires très sympathiques, vivent à côté et nous ont partagé leurs bonnes adresses et conseils sur la région. La maison est ultra agréable, les chambres superbement décorées et les lits excellents. Animaux friendly. La piscine est à partager avec eux.

Traumhaftes Anwesen und sehr nette Gastgeber

Das 500 Jahre alten Haus ist sehr liebevoll restauriert worden und mit vielen schönen Details eingerichtet. Drei große Schlafzimmer, ein großer Wohn und Essbereich und eine sehr große Küche, die umfangreich ausgestattet ist, gestalten einem den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm. Sehr schön sind auch die Außenanlagen, Da man eine eigene überdachte Terrasse hat, sehr gepflegt Pool zur Verfügung steht und man sich auch einfach auf einer Sitzgruppe unter einem der vielen Bäume ausruhen kann. Bei Fragen, Anregungen und Tipps sind Eric und Manuel bereit und gestalten den Aufenthalt sehr angenehm.

A Perfect Stay

We recently stayed at Eric and Manuel’s Le Vieux Logis and had an amazing time. We selected their home after our intended accommodation had been booked up, and what a pleasant turn of circumstances! Our search criteria included: a historic property capable of accommodating two couples, swimming pool for warm Dordogne days, and a quiet, peaceful setting. Le Vieux Logis met all of these, and still was within a few minutes drive to historic sites and towns. Unfortunately, Europe’s warm summer changed the day of our arrival so we didn’t use the pool, but arrived to find a warm home with a fire burning in the fireplace-perfect! The home is very tastefully decorated and updated, while maintaining it’s history. It is located in a small hamlet of similar character homes and just steps from the GR36 hiking trail (for great walks to nearby hamlets and towns). The home is comfortable and makes a great base for daily sightseeing and hiking excursions. Eric and Manuel are friendly hosts, and great sources of local information. We would highly recommend Le Vieux Logis for small groups of friends, couples, and families.

Stayed there for 8 nights Had some very hot day which was great , however sleeping was very difficult as no fans or mosquito nets.. House is in a great location Really enjoyed the holiday , but sleeping was uncomfortable

Dear Angela We re really sorry for the inconvience you have experienced but we don't understand that you haven't told us anything about it as we met you every days! Also we re wondering why you did fire in the fireplace (without our agreement) if it was so hot... furthermore, you had the mosquitos nets on the windows, we provided citronella oil and also electric plug with anti mosquito liquid. As for the bed linen and the towels you left stained bleached , we haven t asked anything and didn t complain about it. We do hope you have spent good holidays in Le Vieux Logis and wish you all the best flying back to Singapore Eric & Manuel

Simply Stunning !

Le Vieux Logis is a little piece of paradise within the beautiful dordogne - the house was spacious, clean and full of character and the pool and gardens were stunning. Eric and Manue were wonderful hosts - nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel incredibly welcome - we enjoyed every minute of our two week holiday - it wasn’t long enough !

Fantastic house in peaceful surroundings

We had a wonderful stay with our two young children. The house was very comfortable with everything you need. During our stay it was extremely hot outside but the house stayed nicely cool. We especially enjoyed the garden, which was very large and well kept and had some big trees for shade, and the pool! The house is well located; there are many sights close by. Eric and Manuel are great hosts!

The Best!

Eric and Manuel are incredible hosts! Their home is gorgeous, tasteful and sparkling clean. Each room is beautifully decorated and the kitchen has everything you need, including a variety of coffee making options. The outside terrace is a lovely place for a meal. We arrived after a long drive from Paris and they were waiting with a fire in the hearth and a warm welcome. The area is fantastic .- close to so many sights. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you, Eric and Manuel!

Ein traumhaft schönes Fleckchen Erde - zum Wohlfühlen und Erholen

Das Haus ist wunderbar renoviert und atmet überall den Charme seiner Zeit. Alle Räume sind sehr einladend und auch die Wohnräume im Erdgeschoss sind sehr schön hell. Die Küche ist sehr gut eingerichtet. Angenehm ist die fest überdachte Terrasse, die sowohl bei heißem Wetter echten Schatten bietet wie auch bei kühleren Abenden die Kühle abhält. Das große Grundstück mit dem Pool ist wunderbar. Die nebenan wohnenden Vermieter sind sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich, ohne sich aufzudrängen. Es ist ein Ort, an dessen Ruhe man sich bestens erholen kann und sich direkt beim ersten Betreten des Hauses schon wohlfühlt - der Urlaub beginnt sofort. Wir möchten sehr gern wiederkommen, auch weil die Lage bei St. Cyprien und Sarlat perfekt ist und viele Spazier- und Laufwege in unmittelbarer Nähe das Übrige hinzutun.

A truly delightful experience.

Eric and Manuel are excellent hosts with great attention to detail. The house has been beautifully restored and offers 3 very good sized double bedrooms and extensive living space. The space outside allows you to sit in the sun or the shade with the added bonus of a jacuzzi and a brand new pool. The area around the gite is lovely with a large garden and many and varied walks. There are several active towns within easy reach as well as the charming town of Sarlat just a little further. Highly recommended.

La demeure, ancienne et décorée avec goût, a beaucoup de charme; elle se trouve au cœur d'un hameau très calme; elle est idéalement située à proximité des sites les plus beaux. Les propriétaires, qui habitent juste à côté et avec qui on partage le jardin, sont des hôtes discrets, mais attentifs à notre confort et très accueillants. mention spéciale pour le jacuzzi, très relaxant! Bref, une adresse que nous retenons pour de prochaines vacances.

Plus que parfait !

Une très belle maison pleine de charme, rénovée avec goût, très fonctionnelle et très propre. Le grand jardin parfaitement entretenu et le jacuzzi sont très appréciables. La propriété est au calme dans un petit hameau tout en étant idéalement située pour visiter les différents sites touristiques du Périgord noir. Eric et Manu sont charmants et très attentionnés. Nous avons passé une excellente semaine dans cette location et la recommandons chaudement à tous ceux qui souhaitent visiter cette très belle région. Raphaël, Annaïck, Tom et Julia.
