Oceanfront Condo with Balcony, Pool Beach Access

Shipwatch oceanfront condominiums, offered by Hodnett Cooper, have been a favorite family destination for many years. With just 52 residences, Shipwatch is a quiet community ideal for both weekend getaways and multiple month escapes.

Each residence features two bedrooms, two full baths, a combined living, dining, and kitchen area, and a private balcony.

Community amenities include boardwalk access to the heart of St. Simons sand beaches, a swimming pool, volleyball area, large grass lawn, outdoor grills and complimentary in-room high speed internet service.

Though this community is located directly on the ocean, individual residences, unless otherwise specified, do not offer ocean views.

Beach Gear Credit Now Included Hodnett Cooper has partnered with VayK Gear, a beach delivery service provider to offer beach gear rentals to Hodnett Cooper guests in participating properties. Confirm a new reservation with Hodnett Cooper Vacation Rentals at a participating property with length of stay between 2 – 14 nights, arriving March thru October, and receive a daily credit from VayK Gear towards beach gear rentals during the stay! Fun and relaxing

We had a great weekend get away. Our only complaint was that the bed was very uncomfortable and we didn't get much sleep, but we really enjoyed spending our day at the pool. We would definitely come again and just hope for a different bed.

Overpriced for what you get

Some attention to some minor things could make this place a lot nicer. The pitted toilet seat and rusting shower curtain rod make this place look run down. The shower in the master felt like you were going to fall through it. The fan (which I fixed) in the guest bathroom was so loud my children were afraid to use the bathroom. The property is old so the insulation is not so good so we heard everything the people above us were doing.

Slow paced & peaceful.

Island time is so wonderful. We rarely looked at a clock & sometimes didn't know what day it was. The accomodations were as described. The beach was wonderful. The island was very laid back culture, easy to navigate & very friendly atmosphere everywhere we went.

June get-away

We had a wonderful stay! Unit was well equipped, clean and stocked with items we might need. Our internet was strong enough to both be able to work during the day. Access to the beach from our unit was a beautiful little walk and the fact there was covered parking was delightful! We will be back-

Location is e everything!

Gated community with private access to beach...very worth it! The apartment is very well equipped. The kitchen is tiny and well stocked, and the appliances are full sized. The little washer and dryer are perfect and hard working. The complex is quiet, and pool is fantastic. We will probably stay in this spot again. Downsides: there really is no “out of hours” service from the property manager. From what I saw the office never looked occupied. If you have a genuine problem and call the number, they may not get to you until the next day. The unit we stayed in was good, but it very much needs repainting and a deep cleaning (piles of sand behind the doors, etc). The dishwasher is really, really loud, so running it at night wasn’t possible. A lot of the dishes were dirty when we went to use them, like they’d been rinsed off their last use and put away. It’s advertised as sleeping six, but you’d be really hard pressed to have six people staying there..! Overall, it’s a fantastic location and great for families. We would definitely stay there again..!

Not very comfortable sofa and rockers inside for seating. Outside chairs very comfortable and nice table there.

Comfortable and convenient

The location, the condo, and the area were great. The boardwalk to the beach was really convenient. The pool was nice to be able to relax in. The condo was clean and had everything that we needed. We would definitely consider staying here again.

Decent for the Price

We booked spur of the moment and this place was one of the ones left that would not break the bank. The property manager and location is on point. I would stay at Shipwatch again just not unit 110. The bathrooms need to be redone. The master bathroom shower was so difficult to turn on my husband had to help. The sliding glass doors to the balcony could use an update as well. Very hard to open and close. Otherwise this fit our needs. One other thing the women’s bathroom by the pool is nasty. Not sure how often it is checked but it may need to be checked more often. Luckily rooms aren’t too far from pool. Again price point and location to ocean is key. Plus everyone was super friendly.

Great condo

The property was as advertised the unit is very close to the elevators Very convenient for my elderly parents. The unit is a little dated and could use a paint job on the interior. The unit was clean and very well stocked with everything that the listing showed. Great beach condo for a getaway.

Refreshing and Comfortable

The rental was as described and everything was in working order. I found the decor beach appropriate and the furnishings comfortable and practical. Access to the beach was convenient and close enough to visit often. I would definitely stay here again.

Condo was adorable and just as pictured!

We had a great time! The condo was adorable and simple - just as we liked it. It was definitely clean. We loved the fact that we could bring our dogs and for that reason, I loved the fact that the floor was tiled. All the conveniences of home - we would definitely stay there again. The only halfway negative remark I could make is that the air conditioner did not seem to blow very cold air. Of course, we were in St. Simons in August so it was hot! We enjoyed the shops at St. Simons Pier and we loved Mullet Bay restaurant and Jonsey's Pizza. Overall the condo was perfect and with it having its own boardwalk access to the beach, we could not have asked for anything more. As a matter of fact, it was so awesome, we are talking about moving to St. Simons.
