Very Enjoyable visit

Lovely for our introduction to Lisbon. Accurate description and helpful owners. Particularly appreciated the restaurant recommendations in the Welcome book and other useful information. We had a great time.

Nightmare of an experience

From the minute the taxi dropped us off we had nothing but a dreadful experience. Finding the place was like a scavenger hunt. No signage, many steep cobblestone alley ways with many, many stairs going up. Dirty surroundings and very noisy at night. Not recommended for young families or mature adults but party animals would be right at home. Musty smell and had to leave the windows open because no air conditioning. Only one fan for a two level accomodation with a leaky dehumidifier. We would not recommend this place.

Great location but…

The property was as described, in a perfect location in Alfama. We loved staying in the district. There were some issues: in particular a very smelly toilet upstairs, and no cleaning supplies except for laundry detergent and insecticide. We were instructed to keep the air management system plugged in, but when we had some questions about this (blowing hot air), the host gave us confusing information and did not respond further until checkout. Some of the plugs in the wall appeared unstable and unsafe. The sofa bed was not very comfortable and the bedding was substandard.

Great location

The appartement was on a Great location. We had everything we needed, including a washingmachine. Only we were not realy pleased with the cleanness of the appartement. Eventough the appartement was deffinitly cleaned, There appeared to be a humidity problem in the basement. The air in the appartement was very humid despite the climate controle. Also there was mold in the shower and in the badroom down stairs. To be fair we did not communicatie this to the owner because we suspected there was no Quick fix for the problem.

Small apartment in a nice quarter

The appartement is small, but cosy, and has everything you need for a city trip to Lisbon. It is a maisonette apartment, the living room is on street level, the sleeping room is located downstairs. As it is in Alfama, you can't access it directly by car and it can be noisy until late. Both things weren't a problem for us or our kids. But there is one thing we have to mention. The sleeping room seems to have a problem with humidity. When you enter the apartment, it smells musty. You have to open the windows and start the dehumidifier, then it gets better quickly. But you don't get the smell completely out of the room. As the apartement is pretty small, we won't recommend it with four adults, but for us, it was okay.

The Worst

My husband and his friend of 60 years took a reunion trip to Europe but I booked this for them. The following is in their words. We booked this unit for a four night stay in September, instead we stayed one night and that is because we had no choice. The unit was advertised as being in the heart of old town, however, the area had no restaurants, shops or charm. Unfortunately it did have the “inextricable” maze of dead ends, stairs and alleyways, noted in the ad. As no vehicles are allowed, getting to and from the unit was an major issue. We were led to believe that it was 5 minutes to major sites in Lisbon, this is definitely not accurate. Even with GPS, the place was hard to navigate and getting back to the unit after dark was a major hassle. In short, unless you are there for the exercise, this is not for you! It would be very difficult if you have suitcases as we were travelling with backpacks. The unit itself was basic with bedrooms downstairs and a dehumidifier running upon arrival. It was blowing hot air and leaking water. Hardly ideal for sleeping and likely not very healthy. We felt a sense of relief leaving this place and ruined what might have been a nice visit to Lisbon. We left after one night and went to Lagos, which was incredible. My wife did bring these issues to the attention of the property manager but she was not very cooperative. Even with the loss incurred, leaving this unit was the best option.

Très bien mais avons eu de la difficulté à trouver

Bon pour un court séjour. Beaucoup de marches avant d’arriver à l’appartement. Même si on le sait c’est surprenant.

Une très bonne adresse. L’appartement est conforme à la description Merci encore à Florence pour sa réactivité lors de notre petit souci d’électricité. Je recommande vivement ! J’y retournerai sans souci lors d’un prochain voyage à Lisbonne

L’appartement était sale et ne correspondait pas à nos attentes

L’appartement était sale il y avait des cafards la chambre et la salle de bain étaient en sous sol il y avait donc une odeur d’humidité très désagréable

Die Lage der Unterkunft ist sehr gut, direkt in Alfama, die Innenstadt, der Tejo und viele schöne Aussichtsplattformen sind zu Fuß gut erreichbar. In der Unterkunft ist es ruhig und sie ist an sich mit allem wichtigem ausgestattet. Leider sind einige Sachen Erneuerungswürdig, z.B. in der Duschwanne sind 2/3 Rostflecken Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin ist schnell und unkompliziert, sie ist sehr bemüht und nett.

The apartmemt need some ajustement but communication with the owner was great.

Double bed room is down very narrow strairs. Make sure you ask for the key to open the emergency exit door

Lage super, Wohnung im EG feucht

unteres Bad: Schimmel und Dreck, Toilettenspülung defekt Wohnung stinkt entsprechend, ist feucht, Möbel aufgequollen -> Schrank nicht nutzbar wegen Geruch und Schimmel, haben aus dem Koffer gelebt. Da wir wegen des Gestanks ständig die Fenster offen hatten, wenn wir da waren, war es abends sehr kühl in der Wohnung. Dafür war dann die Bettdecke sehr dünn - die zusätzliche Decke im Schrank war schimmlig, so dass ich dann die große dünne Decke doppelt genommen und den Bauch eingezogen habe... Heizung war zwar vorhanden, doch den kleinen Ölradiator habe ich meiner Tochter gelassen. Sie habe ich nicht im UG schlafen lassen, wegen des Schimmels und der ständig laufenden Lüftung, die mir den letzten Nerv geraubt hat. Ohropax hatte die Vermieterin zur Verfügung gestellt, weil die Nachbarschaft lauter sein kann – es sind eine Menge Restaurants und Cafés in der Gegend. Ich habe sie wegen der Lüftung gebraucht. Die Wohnungen oben sind sicher besser, vielleicht ist das einfach so in den unteren Stockwerken? Zumindest sah das Haus von außen im unteren Bereich schon nass aus. Schade, denn die Lage ist wirklich super. Wir sind pragmatisch an die Sache herangegangen, haben das Beste aus unseren 5 Nächten dort gemacht und wollten die wenige Zeit nicht mit dem Warten auf den Hausmeister o.ä. verbringen. Wie gesagt – die Lage ist toll, ich würde aber nicht diese Wohnung im EG mieten!

Wir sind sehr begeistert von der schönen Unterkunft. Sie liegt zentral und mitten im schönen Alfama. Es fehlte an nichts und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Toll sind auch die Unterlagen mit vielen Tipps und Informationen. Beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Lissabon sind wir wieder dort. 👍

nice appartement....

Simple and good appartement, quiet environment in the hart of Alfama. Only the ventilator in the sleeping room, to refresh and dry the air , was a littlebit noisy......but when you walked all day through Lisboa, you were tired enough to sleep over it. Thanks a lot....

Kleine schöne Wohnung

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt in der Wohnung von Florence und Pascal. Die Wohnung war relativ klein für vier Personen und es gab leider zu wenig Bettwäsche. Ansonsten war es sauber und schön eingerichtet.
