Welcome to Yosemite's best kept secret for two. Our reviews are outstanding!
Custom built two story home. Clean and well maintained cabin with a beautiful wood interior and a two person soaking tub. Located in Foresta, inside Yosemite National Park and only 10 minutes from Yosemite Valley.
Relax and enjoy life at Clouds Rest Cabin. The perfect mountain retreat, located inside Yosemite National Park and minutes away from Yosemite Valley. If you are looking for a romantic getaway or want to take advantage of Yosemite’s natural beauty and outdoor adventure opportunities.
Clouds Rest has a quiet ridge top location, with sweeping views of El Capitan, Half Dome and the surrounding mountains. Foresta is centrally located for flyfishing the Merced and Tuolumne Rivers, day hiking to lakes and streams or mountain biking out the front door to miles of accessible USFS roads. If that seems too overwhelming, then relax on the front deck, bird watch, stargaze or watch the moon rise over El Capitan.
We use environmentally friendly cleaning and laundry products. We are sensitive to our guests 'no fragrance' requests.
Sleeps three comfortably.

We have lived and worked in Yosemite National Park since 1979 and have been residents of Foresta since 1981. In 1990 we purchased property in Foresta and built our home. In 2003 we bought another lot and built the rental home we now offer to our guests. We live minutes away and are available to assist our guests.
We are avid hiker's and know the area well. Mark has 30 years of flyfishing experience, and he can direct you to the best catch and release areas and professional flyfishing guides in the park.
Noreen and Mark Gallagher purchased this house in 2003
Foresta is centrally located in Yosemite. It has the closest private homes to Yosemite Valley.
The Merced and Tuolumne Groves of Giant Sequoia's parking area's are within 20 minutes drive time from the cabin. The Merced river, with trophy flyfishing, is also close by.
Clouds Rest Cabin is a unique rental property located inside Yosemite National Park. It's location is close to Yosemite Valley and the Tioga Road corridor (Tuolumne Meadows and Sequoia Groves). We built this cabin so that people from all over the world can discover and fall in love with Yosemite National Park as we have. Clouds Rest Cabin is a little treasure inside Yosemite. When you see other visitors trudging off to their cramped, stuffy, little hotel rooms after a day of hiking and exploring the park......reward yourself that you have Clouds Rest Cabin to come back to. Enjoy it's spiritual relaxation and peaceful atmosphere.
We enjoyed 3 fabulous nights at Clouds Rest Cabin. We are so glad that we made the decision to stay inside the park. The location was just perfect. It is a wonderful place to stay away from the crowds of the valley floor. We chose to drive and then hike early in the morning, spending the afternoons and evenings back at the cabin, relaxing, admiring the view, cooking on the bbq and looking at the stars. We had everything that we needed at Clouds Rest. It was extremely well equipped and comfortable. We felt very sad to leave and will definitely return. We would like to thank Mark and Noreen for sharing their lovely house and the wonders of Yosemite with us. (A big thank you too for returning the jacket that we left behind! Much appreciated)
SIMPLY PERFECTION! We stayed at the cabin from June 1 through June 6th as part of our 35th anniversary vacation to Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and Napa Valley.
As our first trip to Yosemite, Clouds Rest Cabin made an excellent “home base" to explore all of the areas of Yosemite. Close to the valley, yet a nice reprieve from the crowds in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed returning to a quiet and immaculate cabin after a full day of hiking throughout Yosemite.
We relished watching the sunrise over El Capitan and Half Dome while nestled into our comfy bed early in the morning and enjoyed our relaxing dinners and cocktails on the deck while watching the magnificent changing colors over El Capitan at sunset.
Mark and Noreen were wonderful hosts and checked in to make sure everything was satisfactory. I highly recommend this cabin to couples heading to Yosemite. We hope to be able to return soon!
What a great cabin! I stayed for almost a full week and I didn't want to leave. The place is immaculate and it's clear the owners go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I really liked the location....not too far from Yosemite but far enough away to get away. I have stayed in many vacation homes and this is by far my best experience. I will be back!
We so loved this cabin! What a wonderful "home base" to explore Yosemite from! We hiked every day in different parts of the park and came back every day to the quiet and peacefulness of this cabin to make dinner and sit out on the deck looking at El Capitan in the distance. Just doesn't get much better. We were there in the summer so the valley was very busy....it was such a treat to come back to this immaculate cabin away from the crowds. The location is so nice, because it is close to everything. Mark and Noreen were wonderful hosts and were nearby to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone heading to Yosemite. You will love it!
Location - that is why I continue to return to this rental. Why drive hours to get into the park when I can stay in a quiet place in the park and only a few minutes from Yosemite Valley and the road to Tuolumne. It is a great location and besides, the cabin is spotless and furnished with everything I've ever needed.
No, no, not a Britney Spears song title, I returned to this special place for my fifth mid-winter visit. You wake up looking at Half Dome and later, day hiked to Wapama Falls....sunshine and white water! Later in the evening, cooked a great dinner in a fabulously equipped kitchen.....did I forget to mention wine? The entire place is immaculate....a great get away, in our best national park.
Swimming holes and trout fishing (catch and release, barbless hooks)located along Crane Creek, which runs through Foresta. Historic 1800's Meyer's ranch house, barns and Pioneer Cemetery located within a short walk from the cabin. Excellent birdwatching during spring months of migrating birds along Crane Creek, Big Meadow and Historic McCauley Ranch addition.
