Karol’s home was awesome. You can tell a lot of love went into designing it as soon as you walk in. He was also very quick to respond with any messages, including an urgent one that was 100% my fault for not reading his detailed instructions. The home was clean, welcoming and the bed was comfy. I also loved the details in the bathroom. Great host, great home, and I can’t wait to stay again!
Very great location. Quiet neighborhood. Host was very attentive and responded fast. The projector was an amazing part of the home that we all enjoyed. I would definitely recommend this place and would 100% stay again!
Three of us traveled to Detroit for the Thanksgiving Day game, we stayed at Karol’s for 2 nights and it was fantastic. The host (Karol) is top shelf, excellent communication and had the house well prepared and super clean. The house is awesome! It’s a quaint two bedroom with very cool art and decor inside. It features a large backyard and a big front porch as well. The neighbourhood is very safe and the home is close to lots of different shops and convenience stores. Our group were all very happy with the accommodations from price point, to cleanliness, to host and location, it was all a great experience and we would definitely stay here again. 5 stars all day.
We enjoyed everything about this property. I love when a listing EXACTLY matches the property. I promise I will book this place again the next time I am in Detroit.
Perfect for our 10 night stay in the area for a bowling tournament ! In the center of everywhere we needed to go! Perfect space in the home for a wind down!
Karol's place was perfect for our quick one night stay. The house is just as described in the listing and had many personal touches that were fun to explore. Would definitely stay here again!

About the host

Hello friends! I’m currently a busy young adult sharing my time between Detroit, Sarasota and Aspen. I have been in Aspen, Co for the last ten years working as an adventure guide, ski patroller, ski instructor, raft guide and in construction. You may notice some memorabilia from my adventures out west. I also love music, I have been playing and singing for many years and have been recently dabbling in art. Both of my parents are artists. This is my first home and something I have renovated from start to finish along with lots of help from my father, Wojtek. The two of us have put our blood, sweat and tears into this home. It has been constantly changing and developing as me and both of my artist parents attempt to contribute to its unique style and variety. Much of the furniture I have handcrafted and most of the artwork has been painted by my mother, Basia. . It is our first family project. My parents had an interior design business when I was young and I am attempting to take off from where they left off. My dream is to have my own construction and design company and this home was my first step toward that goal. I greatly appreciate any feedback, reviews etc., as any information helps me understand and learn. I am both thrilled and proud to offer our home to you and I truly hope you find it’s charm as appealing and interesting as I do
Why they chose this property
Detroit is not unfamiliar with change and reinvention, and yet for all its complexity, the Motor City is often primarily thought of as the land of automobiles. While this is undeniably a piece of Detroit’s fascinating narrative, the city has a great deal more to offer, particularly in the creative arts, which have long played a prominent role in Detroit’s past (from original urban murals to an iconic record label), and in continuing to shape the ever-changing city today. Museums like MOCAD share the work of brilliant Detroit artists with natives and visitors alike, while also making the case that Detroit is a destination for a diverse, international range of art. Throughout the city, there are extraordinary examples of storied architecture. In rare record shops, music from earlier decades lives on, while contemporary indie bands play in a mix of new venues and old (outrageously awesome) dive bars. Neighborhoods like Midtown (museum district, home to DIA and a transformed retail experience), Downtown (encompasses all of the city’s major stages from economic to operatic and athletic), and Corktown (a hipster dream) have seen waves of new chefs and restaurants come onto the scene. Ferndale is a hip neighborhood just a few minutes away by car. Lots of restaurants and clubs. Several new boutique hotels are promised to debut in the next year or two. So, while what in part makes Detroit cool is that it doesn’t have all the familiar amenities and trends of frequently touristed cities, it is undeniably a city of reinvention. Hamtramck is right in the middle everything which is exactly what I wanted.
What makes this property unique
We are located in Hamtramck, a small two-mile city within Detroit city limits, hat is buzzing with life, culture, and variety. Whether you're interested in the amazing authentic multicultural dining, the budding music and art scene or perhaps want to venture into downtown Detroit located just minutes away it is all available within throwing distance. Hamtramck, otherwise known as “The World In Two Square Miles” was originally settled by Polish immigrants, like yours truly. It still maintains its Eastern European feel, attested to by street murals, and authentic restaurants and deli’s such as Bozeks Market where you can buy the best Polish Deli meats and cheeses outside of Poland. As Hamtramck evolved, it was flooded by people representing many cultures as evidenced today by shops and restaurants catering to many tastes, hailing from India, Iraq, Bangla Desh, Greek, Turkey, and my favorite Yemen, the (Yemen Cafe). If Anthony Bourdain, a world-class traveler and chef saw fit to stop here and explore than you should too! Only minutes away from downtown Detroit, Hamtramck is a wonderful place. Somewhere where you can sit out on the porch (when its warm) and watch true urban life interactions as if in a very tiny New York.
