Tye message was 2 days after checkout due to a mandatory evacuation caused by a wildfire close to the property.
The messages were to question why a bonfire was held during a provincial fire ban. My first statement shouod explain why this was a cancern to me.
The messages also addressed broken and damaged items in the home and was met with a statement of, "why is this a cincern. Theres insurance"
I would never rent to this family again due to their lace of respect for the home and property as well as the disregarding of many of the house rules, including smoking, maximum occupants and not checking the burn restrictions.
This property provided a nice little weekend getaway with friends. It's not too far outside of the city, but provided a quiet remote little getaway. The kitchen was well stocked, the theatre was a neat experience and we enjoyed playing shuffle board.
This was a family reunion with travellers from Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia. The house was beautiful. Clean, wonderfully appointed and furnished and the hosts were friendly and easily reachable. Thank you Chris and Charlie, we have some wonderful memories from our stay at Nature'ss Nook.
This property feels like it is in the middle of complete privacy, yet is close to adequate shopping and dining. If you want alittle more life, it is reasonably close to Halifax and Lunenburg. The home is beautiful and restful. I cannot say enough how much we loved it, even in the pouring rain!!
This property is spectacular. The host is amazing. The house is very functional, very clean, and well kept. All the cool technology inside works amazing we couldn’t ask for a better stay while celebrating our son’s wedding. As parents of the groom, we were able to host two dinners in this house and were in need of nothing. We highly recommend this property.

Gary and his family were amazing guests. If I could give them a 10 out of 5 I would. Our house was never left in a more pristine state. Gary was great to communicate with, they observed every house rule, and communicated their appreciation. If every guest could be like them, we would never have to worry. We would love to have them back.
It was a wonderful couple days with the family. Closely located to shopping but far enough away from everything to decompress and relax. You couldn’t ask for anymore amenities, the house had everything. We had an amazing games night complete with a shuffleboard tournament! Thank you again Chris.
It was the perfect getaway with plenty of room to spare for our two families. The quiet rural setting within a short scenic drive to beautiful beaches made for a very relaxing weekend. It has all the amenities you could possibly want in an extremely comfortable layout, with room to gather as well as to find a private corner for time to yourself. Everything in the house worked as it should and communication was timely and efficient. I only wish we had more time to enjoy the enjoy the property.
The hosts were easy to communicate with and very considerate throughout our booking. And when we arrived, every person in the party was amazed by the property and the home.
It is hard to describe how open and still cozy they have made this home. It sits in a secluded location amongst the trees, and we were greeted by several, friendly rabbits. The grounds are immaculate and the outside of the home has so much to see we had to take a moment before we went inside. And once inside, the visual feast continued. The rooms are beautiful, the kitchen is massive and well stocked with everything you need. Each of the 3 floors offers their own vibe and there's a place for everyone. It was one of the most beautiful places we've stayed in and everyone commented on how great their stay was. Thanks to our hosts for being so gracious and allowing us to share in their beautiful home.
We had a 70th Ladies Birthday get away and it was everything and more than we expected….the home was beautiful…. Tastefully decorated…beautiful furniture …..everything you would possibly need was there…..so clean…we wanted to stay a week there…the property was so nice and well groomed….and The owner was away and his mom/co-host Sue was awesome to deal with….so accommodating…….we will be back Sue 👏💞
Exactly as advertised. Fantastic location with great views. Very private property. Close enough to drive to Halifax and enjoy the city but away from the noise and traffic when you want to enjoy the country.
Truly it is a natures nook. The house is surrounded by trees. As we drove up to the house there was 3 rabbits hopping around. Every day we were greeted by rabbits.
The house was very nice and spacious. Everyone had something to do there. From outdoor activities to late night movies in the theatre room.
Thank you to the host Chris for sharing his love of putting things together. From the Lego Titanic to the other boats and ships around the house.
The house is very well laid out. I am sure the next visitors will enjoy this as much as our family did.
Doesn’t actually allow parties 20 & under like listing
I booked this beautiful spot for my 34th birthday bash (dancing and music inside). Unfortunately the owner of the property is away and his mother is taking care of it. I’m writing this review to warn others of the overzealous mother. The property listing says guests up to 20, sleeps 10. However, the mother spied on us using the security cameras demanding guests be brought down to 8 (this is the number I booked) despite what the ad says. She barged in to the home at 6am to take illegal photos (as clearly stated in Canadian law and the VRBO privacy policy) of all of my guests SLEEPING, without their consent and she felt she was entitled to do so because she was mad that there were more guests than 8. I kindly explained to her nicely that we were willing to pay the extra guests as I did not want to send my guests home drunk and lots of them worked the following day so that they wouldn’t be spending the second night there. She counted 17 guests (within the 20 person limit as said in the listing, guests may host parties and have up to 20, which I disclosed from the time of booking) She took illegal pictures with the sound on, to try and intimidate us further. She wouldn’t leave the property with the illegal photos in hand until I had e-transfered her $500 for the extra guests, ILLEGALLY, as all payments must go through the VRBO website or app. She extorted and robbed me. Once she left she then sent texts and threatening messages through the Alexa to try intimidate us and harassed me with phone calls from noon until 2pm when we left a day early. The Stay and my birthday was ruined by a harassing judging mother who called me disgusting. I will be filing a police report as she breached Canadian privacy laws and for her extortion. This should never be a guests experience. 0/5 stars from me.
Great experience at the home. Able to do lots of planning with our group. Beautiful nature walks. And great entertainment set up. Living room tv has an amazing surround system. Shuffle board and theatre in the basement were awesome too.
We were a group of 10 and first time in Nova Scotia. The host was extremely kind and helpful. The property was exceptional with everything upgraded. We had a wonderful time and couldn't ask for more! Will definitely be back again!
Everything for our family getaway was perfect from the moment Chris met us at the door to this beautiful home. We like to cook with each their and this well appointed kitchen was a dream to work in. All 8 adults could gather comfortable at the expansive dining table, and add the ambience of the fireplace when the evening began to cool down. The beds were very comfortable and little touches like fresh flowers were certainly appreciated. Having the use of the theatre room and the shuffleboard kept everyone happily entertained. We hiked up nearby Skull Rock and wandered Martinique Beach on a beautiful fall day. But if you cant be outside, the views from the many windows of this home will supply you with your connection to nature.
We really enjoyed the location and house. Great spot to enjoy the outdoors with friends. Property owner was very responsive and had left detailed instructions for maximum enjoyment of the house.
My friends and I booked Chris' property for a girls weekend and it did not disappoint! The house is beautiful and has all the amenities you need for stay of any length. Plenty of space for a large group. It's close to some great beaches or you can just hang out on the big deck and enjoy the secluded yard.
