Just one flight of stairs and you are on the beach! Our 213 foot beach has mostly sand and a few rocks and is very private. The water is crystal blue and nature is at its best. The home is located on a secluded, dead end road which offers some of the finest views for casual walks and wildlife viewing. Bald eagles, loons, swans, and hawks are seen daily! There is a county park a half mile north which connects to Fisherman's Island State Park. There is a wooded lot (which we also own) north of the house which adds to your privacy and buffers your from neighbors. If you are a boater, you can drop in your boat at various launch sites in Lake Charlevoix, Torch Lake or 1/4 mile down the road at the Norwood Park (for Lake Michigan boating).
The home has four queen bedrooms, sleeping loft with two twin beds and finished basement also with two twin beds. There is a main floor oversized bathroom and also a brand new large bathroom in the basement.
There is a solid pine picnic table and deck set, 4 Anti-Gravity Chairs, charcoal grill for outdoors and a fooseball table in the basement rec room. Also Cornhole, and Ladderball for outside gaming.
OUTDOOR HOT WATER SHOWER on the beach makes rinsing off from the beach (or taking a morning shower!) very convenient and unique! Numerous renters (and ourselves) have showered and seen the local bald eagles flying by for their morning meal. A peaceful, unbelieveable experience!
There are so many things to do closeby: shopping, boating, plenty of excellent golf courses, or just relax in the hammock and listen to the water lap up on shore! Come and enjoy northern Michigan at its finest.

We are a young family who loves Northern Michigan.
Carrie purchased this House in 2007
Why Carrie chose Charlevoix
We LOVE to spend time relaxing on the 'big lake' with family and friends. We have extensive family in the area and know it is the spot we want to be in when we retire. Nothing beats a sunset over Lake Michigan with your loved ones sitting beside you!
What makes this House unique
BRAND NEW RENOVATION 2017! We have a gorgeous view of the lake including a wooded lot so you won't encounter many neighbors. We have made our home unique and comfortable by having a grill, solid pine patio furniture, outdoor beach shower, wifi, finished basement, and a large renovated bathroom for our guests. The close proximity to town is nice but also great to be away from it too.

Thank you for coming!
Great for families
We really enjoyed our recent stay. We had 6 adults and 2 toddlers and had plenty of room. The lake was crystal clear but rocky (wear your water shoes), but the beach had lots of sand for building sand castles and just relaxing and soaking in the view. We saw eagles, deer, turkeys, and lots of water fowl. Charlevois is a cute picturesque town, and only a short drive away. Lots of nice shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend this place.
I was really kind of torn about writing this review. This place is amazing and I really didn't want anyone else to find out about it so that we could keep booking it. In the end, I decided to not be selfish. My family has stayed in quite a few places on Lake Michigan, but this place is the best yet. I have a 4 year old and and 8 month old. So, of course with the 8 month old I was concerned about how clean it would be since she crawls everywhere. That is really the first thing I noticed when I walked in, just how clean it was. It was kept up the way that we would keep a place up if we had a lake house. This is a really great place to go if you have kids. There are lots of toys and games already there, which my 4 year old LOVED! The pack and play and the high chair were big bonuses for us as well. It was really nice not having to pack those. This place just had everything we needed.
The yard is also pretty private, which is nice. Most places on the lake have long, crazy staircases to get down to the beach, but not this place. It's just a short flight down and you are right on the beach. There are tons of rocks down on the beach and we found the best Petoskey stones right there. Oh man, and the sunsets...I can't even explain how beautiful they are.
The only bad thing I can say is that the bed in the room my husband and I picked was not very comfortable, but there are plenty of other beds to choose. So, I think next time we would just sleep in a different room, which is fine. All in all, this place is wonderful and we are already planning our trip for next year.
Thank you so much for the review!
We are so glad you liked the house and property.
As for the bed, it is so hard to cater to everyone's needs-some like soft, some prefer firm etc. We are glad you switched and found a comfy resting place
As Mandy wrote I really didn't want to let the word out on how fabulous this place was .... we have stayed at their other property on Lake Charlevoix and LOVED that place and was a little disappointed when it was not available for us this year. As it turned out .... even though our whole reason is to be on Lake Charlevoix for Spring bass fishing this place on the Big Lake was even better. Just a short ride out of town but well worth it. It is going to be the hardest decision next year as to which one we will choose. The size of the kitchen and living area is very deceiving when you first pull up .... very accommodating and very clean ....and to be able to have a fire on the beach every night to watch the amazing sunsets .... priceless. Thank you again Carrie WE LOVED this place and will see you again if not this fall ... but for sure next May ;)
Thank you so much for your kind review! We appreciate your flexibility (it was my sisters honeymoon and they wanted our EAST JORDAN house.... Please come again!
This was a prefect location for our annual "Friendcation" we take with our close friends. We really enjoyed the beautiful views, reading, and relaxing on the porch overlooking the lake. The outdoor shower is so great! Try it once and you'll be showering there all week.
There's a nature preserve right down the street and it was great to bike through it and see deer and hike down through the woods to the beach, where we saw some egrets and other wildlife.
213 feet of Lake Michigan PRIVATE BEACH frontage all to yourself!
