Historic Farmette - The Chicken Coop Inn

Built in 1862, this self-contained 1 bedroom, 1 bath unit attached to the main home is situated on 1.5 acres. Brimming with antiques, you will find all the comforts of home. A kitchenette is nicely appointed with cooking and serving essentials, refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker, cooktop and convection microwave. The bathroom is furnished with spa towels, locally sourced handcrafted soaps, and a hair dryer. A comfy bed with cozy linens complete your relaxing stay.

We offer wireless internet as well as a TV with a guest Netflix account. The unit is centrally heated and air conditioned with your own thermostat.

As a gateway to southeast Wisconsin, we are conveniently located 5.9 miles to Lake Geneva, 7.3 miles to Twin Lakes (Lake Mary and Lake Elizabeth) and 5.9 miles to historic Richmond, Illinois. And that is just the start!

There is an endless array of choices for everyone to enjoy, and if you have questions or would like some suggestions, we can help with that too.

A great location with a great host! The location is quiet and private. It’s a straight shot to downtown Lake Geneva. Everything was tidy and clean when we arrived. The check in and check out were the easiest we’ve encountered with VRBO. The small kitchenette is functional. The bathroom and shower are very nice. The bedroom is clean and comfortable. Be advised that there is a narrow, somewhat steep flight of stairs to get to the bedroom. The stair landing headspace is tight if you’re 6 foot tall or taller and large luggage can be a bit of a struggle to get up the stairs but everything else about this quaint little spot is excellent.

The Vrbo and the hosts were very welcoming from the time that we pulled into the driveway the first day clear through to departing. I can't recommend this cute little retreat enough! I will definitely suggest this place to anyone I know traveling to the area.

We had a great time at the chicken coop inn. Linda and Tom were great. Location is very close to all the Lake Geneva activities and restaurants. We will definitely stay here the next time we’re in the area!

Charming and wonderful stay!

My best friend and I stayed here for a weekend of antique hunting and it was just perfect! It's one of those places that's so good you almost don't want to tell anyone about it to keep it for yourself, but Linda and Tom are so lovely and their property deserves a five star review. The inn is extremely clean and comfortable, with everything you need. Linda provided excellent local recommendations, that we thoroughly enjoyed. The location is perfect as it is set out in the beautiful country but so close to anything you may want to do. We are already planning on coming back!

Welcoming, cozy and inviting inn

We came to the Chicken Coop Inn for our anniversary. The hosts were exceptional with their communication. We were welcomed more than I can express. The Inn was super cute, the chickens were fun to watch, the hosts were amazing and there were numerous small touches that made us feel more like family than guests.

Quaint and charming

We were in the area because our daughter's family were camping at Big Foot Beach State Park. Destination was close to the park so was easy for us to meet at the park and enjoy October Fest in Lake Geneva. Linda and Tom were so welcoming.

I loved my stay! Although it was a short time I was there, Tom and Linda were so accommodating and I appreciated the sweet welcome card and homemade muffin too! I will definitely stay again when in the area.

Lovely, quiet place

My friend and I stayed for a night after a concert at Alpine Valley. It was a cozy place in great proximity to Alpine Valley. Linda was great to work with and very welcoming. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area!

Flea Market Weekend Stay

Their home is beautiful and the setting is very peaceful. Our accommodations were clean and had everything we needed, including muffins and fruit for breakfast. Our host and hostess were there to welcome us and even send us off in the morning at 6am!

Cute little gem!

This is a cute little gem! Historic stone farmhouse with beautiful 300 year old oak tree gracing the entrance. Guest unit is adjacent to main house, updated with modern kitchen and bath. Super nice host, short drive to Lake Geneva for shopping and restaurants.

Property was even better than described and pictured. Great location. Owners were super nice and helpful if needed but also stayed out of the way and respected your privacy. 10 out of 10 would stay there again and recommend to friends.
