Wonderful place
We took a big gamble as this property was much cheaper than others listed, many of the photos made it look terrible, it was available last minute and there were no reviews on HomeAway. But it was wonderful - beautiful, quiet location, lovely owners, nice pool. The house is basic and old-fashioned, but felt traditional Corsican. Don't expect the height of luxury but do expect to have a lovely time. We would definitely go again. The main problem is that it is NOT where it is listed. There is a Chemin St Antoine in Calvi itself, where the blue circle shows on the map; but this property is on a different Chemin St Antoine, off the D151 half way to Calenzanas from Calvi. This caused us HUGE confusion and if i had not managed to track down the owner, or was not able to speak passable French, I do not know if we would have ever found it. Take road out of Calvi heading east. Pass airport roundabout. Turn right at next roundabout. Pass Spar (recommended!); pass over next 2 roundabouts then turn right at 3rd (labelled Pietralba, and Chemin St Antoine). 1 km and turn left into property. It is the turn BEFORE the Casa Maio restaurant.
