In 1920 Alison was born, the same year her father purchased a block of land in the Queen Charlotte Sound. Fast forward 100 years and now the land and the Brick House is in the care of Alison's granddaughter, Claire. Built in the 1960's as a classic brick home, the house has undergone changes, with a deck added to the front, and small internal renovations in recent years. The kitchen now opens to the lounge, the bathroom and toilet have been replaced, and decorating has been undertaken - the middle bedroom looks straight out of the 60's however was wallpapered in 2017! Spending her school holidays and countless weekends at the property growing up Claire would explore the bush clad hillside for hours on end with siblings and cousins. Small stones, pieces of sea glass, and drift wood from the beach turned her parents home into a second beach, with her father secretly returning an endless stream of treasure finds back to the beach over the years. The joy of growing up in such a special location, with regular visitors, such as 'Ray' the stingray cruising past the shore looking for his breakfast , and countless sea birds, seals and dolphins, along with a passion for regrowing the bush and all the native bird life it brings, has led Claire to want to share this special location with travelers far and wide, in the hopes that the happiness and peacefulness of the property can be shared with other families and create wonderful memories for them too.
