Excellent location

Great property for a family holiday. There were a couple of areas that we needed to speak to the property owner about however communication was generally good and we were happy with the outcome. Would recommend.

Comfortable stay. Ideal for family and friends.

A lovely tidy property which catered for our group of three couples of adults and two teenage girls. We did not use the bbq or outdoor area as we were twinning with friends nearby, but the social areas were perfect for a social beach stay.

Amazing place

I really recommend this property, easy to discuss arrange time to check in with the property owner, the place is really set up for family and friends have good time, amazing neighbourhood and views! Very close to the beach! I’ll rent again easy!

Totally worth it

Excellent base for beach adventures that are just a walk away, plenty of deck space and room to chill out comfortably. We had a superb family getaway here and the host Tom was immediately responsive when needed. Bookmarking this one for another trip.

The property was all it described. Clean and comfortable with rooms for all. Family were upstairs and grandparents down using the toilet and shower in laundry. Very suitable for two adventurous infants who delighted in the stairs. Outdoor fire was great at nights and BBQ was well used. The BBQ was in a terrible state and we cleaned it as well as we could. We don’t consider this in any way the responsibility of the host. If you use these ‘free’ extras look after them yourself. We paid extra for linen and towels which suited us for travel purposes. Nice and close to beach and Matarangi has an amazing family feel with walkways winding everywhere through the houses to avoid roads. A very safe and well thought out town with a Liquor Store, Cafe and Bar and a brilliant 4 Square supermarket that does everything from Danish pastries and Croissants to Rotisserie cooked chicken and a great range of fruit and vege. Golf course was a bonus with carts and clubs to rent. The beach is beautiful and there is a toy library at the end near the main playground that thoughtful people have kindly donated beach toys to. The playground itself is well thought out and the village green is spacious and well maintained.

Great mini break

We had a great stay here. It is so close to the beach and even better that we could take a small dog with us. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best but we relaxed and made memories anyway. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your little slice of heaven.

Great property layout and fully equipped. Superb location for the beach, tennis courts and local supplies. We loved the outdoor fire. Wood and kindling thoughtfully provided.

Fantastic location and outdoor space

We really enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal for Matarangi beach (which is a great beach for dogs) and a short walk to cafes and shops. The outdoor area is the highlight of the property with a great outdoor fire and seating area. The property is spacious and is equipped with everything you need. While most of the house was clean, we found the BBQ and oven to be very dirty and had to spend a lot of time scrubbing these (probably left in a poor state by previous guests) and felt that parts of the house required a deep clean (our duvet cover was covered in dog hair for instance). Otherwise, it is a wonderful spot.

Great Family Bach

Perfect holiday bach in Matarangi! Close to the beach with a great entertaining area on an large sunny deck. BBQ, pizza oven and plenty of seating. Had something break and the owner was quick to respond and fix it. Had seven family members staying and there was plenty of room.

Roomy bach, dog friendly and great spot!

Communication with Tom was excellent and he gave lots of info and suggestions before arrival The house was well-equipped and the living room/outdoor set-up was ideal. The kitchen had everything we needed and we had plenty of space for our group of 8 as well as the dogs. The area is very quiet and very relaxed and it is less than a 5-minute walk to the beach. The beach is massive, the only thing we missed is no dogs on the beach between 9-6 pm on holiday weekends, but other than that, Matarangi was great! Lots of stuff nearby (New Chums and Luke's Kitchen!) and there is a nice Bluff Walk at the end of the beach opposite the golf club. Definitely would go back!!

Short walk to the beach, great location

We originally booked for 2020 Taste of Matarangi which was cancelled due to covid so we asked to move the booking a year. It was really easy to deal with the owner and move the booking. The house was in a great location, a walk to shops and firestation and a 2 min walk to the beach. A nice house, with enough room, good entertainers kitchen, lounge and outdoor area

Perfect holiday bach

We had an awesome stay at Tom and Fee's bach. It was super clean, tidy and had everything we needed. The house opens up to the deck which was spacious. A big bonus was it was only a few minutes walk to the beach and a 5 minute bike ride to the convenience stores. Highly recommended!!!
