About this property

Siesta, Martins Bay - Matakana Markets close by

Our older style 1960’s beach house is a very large 3 bedroom home, with a games room and 2 separate bathrooms each with a shower and one with a bath. A full kitchen opens out onto a secluded deck which has chairs and tables with a bbq to enjoy the sun together with panoramic views of the sea and countryside.
Close to Matakana Markets, Goat Island (Marine Reserve) for
wonderful snorkelling. Fantastic water sports can be enjoyed at Martins Bay. Walking access to Scandrett Regional Park.
Pakiri and Omaha Surf Beaches within an easy drive.

Our beach house can accommodate a maximum of 7 adults (via 2 queen and 3 single beds). This limit will be strictly enforced. However there are crash pads / mattresses available for up to 3 children making a maximum total of 10 people.
Cost for extra person above base rate for 4 people, is $20.00 per night per person.

Special conditions:
No smoking on the property.
Unlimited broadband internet is included.
Pets not allowed.
Lots of Games and books available.

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to:
Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;
Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

This property somehow makes you feel like you're the captain of a ship looking out over the bay, while also being homely and inviting. It's got everything you might want in a bach, including that there's an access way that going directly to the beach.

A great traditional kiwiana bach! Ping pong table and games were especially a bonus with the wet weather. Beautiful, peaceful setting with great outlook and plenty of space. Wonderful hosts with excellent communication.

Time to Relax at Siesta on Martins Bay

Great place to stay with lots of space and amazing views as it sits high on the hilltop overlooking the beach. With wide bay windows its nice to sit and look out over the expansive views. Lots of beds available for the extended family. Access to the beach is easy with a short walk or 2 min drive. The owners are very responsive and down to earth. I would stay here again. Nice fishing spot too, bring your rods/boat!

Fabulous long weekend

We have stayed here the last 3 years. Lovely views of and close to the beach. Plenty to do in the area or just stay put and enjoy the great beach. Lots of room in the house (and big deck) and lots to do including table tennis and darts. Thanks again.

Good size Bach. Lots of windows and views of Martins Bay. Swimming at Martins Bay was just lovely! Excellent proximity to Omaha, Matakana and Goat Island. We’ll be back.

A perfect place for a family get together.

Wonderful view and access to a fabulous beach and regional park. 10 min drive to Snells beach, Salty Dog hotel and good fish and chips. Oyster shucking tour from Scots Landing a great experience.

Spectacular Martin's Bay

Loved our stay at Siesta in Martin's Bay. Spectacular views across the bay, as easy walk down the hill to the beach. The house is spacious and well presented. Had everything we needed, including games for the kids. Thank you so much for letting us stay!

Beach Break

We had a great stay at this cute 60s bach. There was plenty of room and you could even have two families stay if you wanted. It's location is great with a relaxing view over the beach and only a five minute walk down a pathway to the water. The beach is gorgeous. Everything was clean and tidy. Kids loved the table tennis table. It's not far back to the shops at Snells if you're feeling like a coffee or too lazy to cook. I would take our family back there. So close to Auckland.
