Amazing Stay with Wonderful Hosts

Our hosts were a wealth of knowledge and willingly shared valuable information on culture, food, wine and the fabulous walking trails right outside their beautiful back yard. The property was private and exquisite! Their hospitality was warm and the breakfasts were fabulous. The home is beautiful with two bedrooms each with their own bath. The setting is stunning. We loved the nightly conversations and the wine recommendations yet they were sensitive to privacy if desired. An absolute delight!

Beautiful spot and lovely hosts!

My great nephew and I spent several days at Faye and Ian’s. Our rooms were LOVELY and the attention to detail was unmatched. The swimming hole was refreshing and fun to watch as my nephew jumped from the top rocks. We made several day trips to various beaches and I swam in the warm clear NZ waters. We also visited several Maori cemeteries and our last evening we were treated to seeing huge Kauri trees and Rainbow Falls. I fell in love with Kerikeri and much of it because of our warm and welcoming hosts. Breakfast each day was an added bonus and Faye sent us on our way with passion fruit and tomatoes. Pelle and I want to thank them for their lovely hospitality.

Happiness and serendipity

We had such a happy stay at Charlie's Rock B&B Kerikeri. The rooms were perfect and comfortable. The location stunning, with view from the terrace to the big limestone waterfall and swimming hole. Our hosts were so very welcoming and friendly and we were more than delighted with the suggestions for day outings made by the host. On the last day we followed his advice and visited the sacred and tapu site of the battle between colonial forces and Maori warriors at Te Ruapekapeka Pa in 1845, the last battle between Ngapuhi and colonial forces sparked by the erosion of Maori land rights under Te Tiriti the treaty of 1840. The 40-minute loop walk takes you through an inspiring hill-scape from the terrace where 1200 colonial forces fired their canons at the pa, to the top of the pa where you can look back and see in the distance where the enemy gathered. A profound experience of a defining event in the history Aotearoa. Thank you Ian and Faye.

Bay of Islands week

Ian and Faye are the consumate hosts. A nice glass of wine or two the first night to introduce each other was a perfect start. Our accommodations were cleaned and new towels etc provided a couple of times during our week. A nice array of breakfast foods was provided. It surprised us a bit that there was no interaction with our hosts at Breakfast... we just served ourselves which wasn't actually an issue. I would comment that for a week's stay the same assortment of breakfast foods could have been varied somewhat. Preferably a waffle maker could have been added. Our hosts could have offered to prepare a cooked breakfast just to provide a sense of variety. Couples staying less than a week would not have this issue. Overall I would not hesitate to a give a full recommendation as the home and the deck with the waterfall views was outstanding. Barry

Just perfect

Faye and Ian are the best hosts you can imagine! Helpful with advices, but also giving you the freedom if wanted to just relax in their amazing home. And the location is stunning - next to the waterfall that can be used as private pool :)

Felt like at home

Can’t remember anything about the house cause it’s too pretty 😝. I stayed in the butterfly princess room, way too comfortable it’s hard to get up in the morning :). What I remember is Ian putting his gear on and hitting those beautiful single hand back hand down the line shot. Really wishes that we could stay longer, it will be something we looking forward next year, to be back here and enjoy family times with Faye and Ian ( best host ever ) again. Thanks for the warm 🤗 hug Faye , miss you guys already.

Paradise in Kerikeri

From the moment you turn into the driveway you know you are in for something special. The beautiful landscaped gardens are the prelude to the magnificent waterfall that features on their border. Stunning views and the relaxing nature sounds make it hard to want to leave. Faye and Ian are the most loveliest of hosts, very welcoming and made me feel at home, especially as I was on my own. I cannot speak highly enough of my stay with them. I was also fortunate enough to have dinner and drinks with them which was a highlight of my overall experience in KeriKeri. Beautiful home, beautiful views, fantastic hosts. Highly recommend.

Is it possible to rate higher than a five.? Oh my this place was exquisite and the hosts so wonderful. If you’re lucky you’ll get to stay here. They had to push us out the door! And no they didn’t really push us! 😁 we would have happily spent our entire vacation here and would definitely return

Beautiful stay in Kerikeri

We had a fantastic Easter break at Faye and Ian's lovely bed and breakfast. From the warm welcome to the fabulous view from the living area and decks, we were delighted. The rooms were beautifully furnished, along with great ensuite bathrooms, comfortable beds and cosy seating areas. If you want a special break away you won't be disappointed. Thanks Faye and Ian for making our stay so great.

Lovely place

The hosts were really welcoming and took care of every need while still giving us our space. The waterfall in the backyard is awesome and definitely worth taking a swim in the pool below. Great continental breakfast with no time attached so we could sleep in. Overall a great experience and gave us a chance to wind down from the hussle of the city.

Outstanding!

This property exceeded our expectations, perfectly presented, magnificent location and outstanding hosts. The breakfasts were delightful and our rooms extremely comfortable. We were very impressed by the interior design of this stunning property and the professionally manicured gardens. However, while the waterfall views were breathtaking at this awesome property, the friendly hosts are the real icing on the cake, they made us feel very welcome and even became our local tour guides! Outstanding!

Peaceful Retreat

This is a beautiful property and Faye and Ian are very warm, friendly hosts who go out of their way to make sure you have a comfortable stay. The view over the garden to Charlies Rock is stunning. The rooms are very both very comfortable and, being in a separate wing of the house, feel quiet and private. We chose to stay in the front room which opens out to the terrace and that gorgeous view. The continental breakfast provided has a good range of choices and is perfect if you wish to take your time in the morning. You can make yourself tea or coffee if you wish and there is a spacious lounge for guests to enjoy. This was a lovely, quiet place to come back to after a busy day out.

Best ever Bookabach accommodation

This B and B is the best we’ve ever stayed in. The hosts were warm and welcoming and went out of their way to make our stay a success. Their home is beautifully presented and very comfortable. There were many personal touches that added to the overall excellence - information about the area, swimming in the Rockpool near the waterfall, home made bottled plums and spreads at breakfast. We’d highly recommend this B and B.

Wonderful Charlie's Rock B/B

Everything about our stay was terrific. It's hard to put into words the beautiful property. The location is great, quiet but close enough to town for those evenings out. The absolute highlight of the stay was Faye and Ian the hosts. They made our stay feel like visiting family. They were extremely knowledgeable about the area and recommended great day trips to make our stay more memorable. If we are in Kerikeri again the first accommodation we will check availability of is Charlie's Rock B/B. Thank you to Faye and Ian.

Fabulous place to stay with great hosts.

Faye & Ian are kind, friendly hosts with a stunning garden. Thanks for the tour to Charlies Rock & the falls. The bedrooms were both beautifully decorated with comfortable beds & one room had a bath! Good breakfast with a great view out to the river & the falls. Thanks for putting on the rainbow for the last day. We hope to come and stay again.

This is one of the best accommodation we ever stayed, very used to staying at 5 star hotels in NZ and overseas but this property exceeds the comfort, service, cleanliness, privacy, than most of the hotels we stayed. Our room was very clean with classy linen, towels, etc. and has a view of the Charlies Rock Water Fall and the property is surrounded with view of trees, etc. and has a tennis court. On top of that, both Faye and Ian (owners/ hosts) were very welcoming and made us feel at home and felt as if we have known each other for a long time. We had great conversations and even had a barbecue/ dinner with them. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. We will definitely stay there again when we go back to Kerikeri and will recommend the place to all our relations and friends.
