A home from home in Chinon

A warm welcome awaited us from Bruno and Christophe and their lovely garden gite and pool. We stayed for two lovely weeks and they couldn’t have done more for us. The pool was a God-send during our particularly hot spell and the area is all vineyards, medieval town and the husband loved exploring the local bike routes! The gite was clean, very comfortable, with use of a big barbecue, and drinks fridge, and we made great friends with the eleven cats that frequent the grounds. Thank you Bruno & Christophe, we loved it! X

Disappointing experience

The gite is nice but it was not properly cleaned. BBQ was not working. Owner did not respond very understanding. On the 3rd day the house was cleaned properly (after we did a lot of cleaning ourselves). We did not feel welcome at all. Really overpriced. Location and swimming pool were great.

De locatie is geweldig! Vlakbij allerlei bezienswaardigheden. Het is een prachtige compound en Christophe en Bruno zijn erg aardig. En kunnen lekker koken! Er is een mogelijkheid om mee te eten; tegen restaurant prijzen.Het zwembad is heerlijk en mooi schoon. Ook leuk dat er een tafeltennistafel was! Wat ons tegen viel was het slaapvertrek. Er staat vermeld dat er 2 slaapkamers zijn maar dit betreft een open zolderruimte met een klein tussenwandje. Zeer gehorig en absoluut onmogelijk om als ouders enige privacy van je kinderen te hebben. Daarbij was het snikheet (kwam door de hittegolf) maar veel te heet in de slaspvertrek (binnen 31 graden om 20u s avonds). Er is geen airco helaas. Dit is wel echt iets in rekening mee te houden in de zomer. Evengoed hebben we het fijn gehad. Bedankt Bruno en Christophe!

Wer Stille und Ruhe in einer reizvollen Umgebung und wer einen Ausgangspunkt zur Erkundung der Sehenswürdigkeiten sucht, macht mit dieser Unterkunft sicherlich keinen Fehler. Die Kommunikation, das Ein- und Auschecken waren problemlos. Ebenfalls sind die Betten und Matratze gut geeignet, um einen erholsamen Schlaf zu finden. Mehr Positives lässt sich leider nicht mehr erwähnen. Die Unterkunft selber war leider nur oberflächlich gereinigt. Gerade in der Küche fanden sich viele Überreste der Vormieter. Im Kühlschrank lag noch das Eis vom Abtauen. Zudem befand sich viel Kleintier in Form von Insekten, Spinnen, Motten und dergleichen an Wänden und Decken. Wir sind sicherlich nicht nicht zimperlich, aber das war schon etwas zu viel. Der Zustand der Unterkunft ist insgesamt renovierungsbedürftig. Gardinen sind teilweise defekt, die Schiebetür zur Wohnung ist nur schwergängig und für eine Frau fast nicht zu schieben. Außerdem lässt sie sich nicht von innen verschließen. Zu bedenken ist auch, dass die Schlafzimmer im Obergeschoß sowie die Dusche nach oben hin zu den übrigen Räumen offen sind. Privatatmosphäre ist somit Fehlanzeige. Auch die Toilette unter der Treppe in unmittelbarer Nähe zu Küche und Wohnraum trägt dazu nicht bei. Dies ist auf den Fotos nicht zu ersehen. Auch ist die Ausstattung in die Jahre gekommen, die Wohnung war insgesamt wenig einladend und lieblos vorbereitet. Das fanden wir sehr schade. In diesem Zustand war die Wohnung eindeutig zu teuer.

Les horaires indiqués sur le mail n’étaient pas les bons. L’arrivée devait se faire à partir de 17h, non 16h. Pareil pour le départ: 1h de décalage.Dans l’annonce, il était indiqué un lave linge, or il n’y en avait pas. Heureusement, le propriétaire a pris en charge nos lessives.Dans le gîte, il manquait des rangements pour déposer nos courses, nous avons du les laisser dans les sacs car pas de placard pour les mettre. Il n’y avait pas d’intimité en haut, la chambre des enfants n’était pas cloisonnée jusqu’en haut du plafond. Or le deuxième couchage (lit parents) se trouvait sur la mezzanine juste à côté de la chambre enfant.Sur l’annonce, il était aussi indiqué qu’un jacuzzi était à disposition mais il n’était pas ouvert.Point positif : la gentillesse du propriétaire et le parc.

Nous avons séjourné une semaine avec mon épouse et ma fille dans la dépendance du manoir, parfaitement équipée et disposant d'une très agréable terrasse. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la tranquillité du site, l'immense jardin et bien entendu la piscine. Bruno et Christophe nous ont réservé un excellent accueil et se sont montrés très serviables tout en restant discrets. Un grand merci à eux!
