IMPORTANT - This is a remotely located cabin but should have everything you need for a relaxing or adventurous stay. We, the owners, built this cabin ourselves and take great pride in it - but this is not however the Ritz Carlton so please do not have the expectation that you won't find a speck of dirt or an occasional lady bug or two in the house. We are in the mountains, not in a town and the setting is rustic, but rest assured we have cleaning crews that service the house in between each guest.
We have a wood burning stove that provides a great amount of heat during the winter and we also have an AC that provides a cool house in the summer. Each bedroom has its own individual Heat/AC unit. Wifi is now high speed so a full internet experience is available (video calls, HD streaming, etc) but premium app services are at the expense of the renter. There are hundreds of DVDs available at the cabin. That said, most do not come here for the technology. But on rainy days we also have several boxes of kids toys and board games. We just ask that you put them away neatly when done. A shed is located at the bottom of the property with water equipment available to all renters who fill out a liability waiver. Just inquire after booking if you plan on doing any river trips so we can assist.
A full welcome guide with area information will be provided after booking.
Pet fee: $30 per pet, per stay
CONTRACTUAL ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OF LIABILTY RELATING TO COVID-19
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact, as well as through surface contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people.

Tenant agrees to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any COVID-19-related injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind that Tenant, members Tenant’s party or Tenant’s guests, may experience or incur in connection with use of the rented property.
Tenant hereby releases and covenants not to sue, discharges, and agrees to defend (through legal counsel selected by the indemnified party) and hold harmless Lessor and the Association of and from all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind, which arise out of or relate to to the contraction of COVID-19 by Tenant, members of Tenant’s rental party or Tenant’s guests. Tenant understands and agrees that this release includes any claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of Lessor, any of their respective employees, agents and representatives. Tenant acknowledges that his or her contractual assumption of the risk as set forth above, for himself/herself and on behalf of all of his or her family members, party members and guests who use the leased rental, is a specific condition precedent to (i) Lessor agreeing to lease this vacation rental property to Tenant, and Tenant acknowledges this is a specifically negotiated term and that the monetary amount of the lease and the status of the recreational amenities as being open for Tenant’s use are based upon the inclusion of this term.

This is an amazing property. You can value in its location and facilities. The bedding is basic and we took our own , for some beds, but the actual property is wonderful. Excellent value for money. To have water access with kit and a hot tub and games room was wonderful.

The whole cabin was great. We were 11 guests and we never felt like we were on top of one another. Great space, adaptable to different activities. Very cozy. Everything we could have needed was provided. We will be back!
This is our second year celebrating Christmas and New Years at this cabin! We bring a little tree and decorations and presents…..there is absolutely everything we needed there. Had a wonderful 4 days.
This is our 2nd time staying at the Potomac Cabin. We were excited to go down to the river and use the tubes this trip and it did not disappoint. We did a 5 hour float! It’s so nice having the convenience of the tubes and kayaks right at the water access. The house is beautiful and very clean. It’s extremely nice having everything you need in case you forgot something! Very nice having ac in each room especially during a heat wave! Thanks for the memories!
Had a wonderful reunion with my college friends in this home - it was the perfect place for our gathering. Some notable day trips include Washington DC and the Green Bank Radio Telescope Observatory, plus lots of hiking and river activities all around! A quick glance at the welcome book and it looks like a number of people complained about the bugs - what were they doing in a cabin in the woods if they didn't want to see some harmless bugs? Had a lovely time, bugs, friendship, and all :)
We had a great extended weekend family getaway at Potomac Cabin. The cabin was plenty big for the 13 of us that ended up staying. The outside walking trail, fire ring, hot tub, and deck seating were great too. Overall we had a great time and would love to come back and stay again.
Had a great time at this cabin, which was huge! Tons of room for everyone. We spent most of our time on the back deck. Everyone enjoyed this place. If you stay here, check out the overlook bench behind the house...up the hill. Great views up there!
Cabin is definitely off the beaten track but was exactly what we were looking for. Our family of 112 dogs and three generations had plenty of areas to enjoy.the close proximity to the river / and access to a large number of floats/ kayaks and life vest made daily fun on the river easy .Back at the house we really enjoyed the down stairs rec room. and time in the hot tube. Many card games played and s'mores by the firepit. Lots of towels available after river fun. If you are a family that wants to be together and still have space to do your own thing this place is for you. Took hike to outlook for great view, which this 70 yr old did not find difficult. Lovely large home
The cabin was gorgeous and the setting was so peaceful! It fit all 10 of us perfectly with room to spare. Our adult children enjoyed playing pool and having some adult beverages around the fire pit We had a fantastic time! Thank you for sharing your home with us!!
Group of friends stayed here for the weekend and really enjoyed our time!! There was something to for for everyone. We mostly loved the fire, hot tub and bar room down stairs. Would highly recommend and will be returning!
We wanted to get away for my birthday and this cabin was everything and more. It was a beautiful view with so many things to do. I would definitely recommend.
Our dogs love water so this was the perfect location for me and my family! The river is just a short walk away and there was plenty of indoor activities to do on the day that it rained. The rooms are bigger than they look in the pictures! Beautiful cabin!!
We all loved it! The trails are fun, and down at the river we had a ball! The beds were comfy. Fun at the Pool Table. The downstairs was great! The Hot Tub was a hit. Loved the whole place! Could use a couple extra outlets in the kitchen. The bathroom in the loft needs a light .
We stayed at the cabin with a group of 9 guys to celebrate my brother's 30th birthday. We loved everything about the cabin. It was VERY clean and beautiful. We loved the wood burning stove, the hot tub, dart board and pool table... And the location is stunning. Views from the porch are beautiful, and the cabin sits on the side of a hill with a short trail to the top of the hill where the views are even better! 5 stars all the way, would definitely recommend.
We had an awesome time, we fished, we cooked over the fire pit, sipped bourbon in the hottub, hiked, drove to some beautiful trout streams, tried to fish the Potomac but the rain had it too high and cloudy, visited an amish market, shot some pool, played cards and darts...and my 11 year old son loved the retro mini arcade. Absolutely a great cabin with plenty to do.
