The Space:

Quiet mountain air greets you as you step onto the deck, the scent of pine mingling with the faint chill of the hills. The open living area invites you to sink into the sofa, a soft glow from the fireplace casting gentle shadows while the woods whisper outside. After a day of hiking or exploring nearby towns, the hot tub steams invitingly, promising a soothing soak under a sky full of stars. Inside, the cabin feels both spacious and intimate, a perfect backdrop for family laughter and quiet moments alike.

Sleeping arrangements

The upper‑level bedroom holds a king bed, offering plenty of space to stretch out after a long day. On the main level, two queen beds provide comfortable sleep for four guests. A lower‑level game room features a twin day bed, ideal for a child or an extra adult. All guests share a full bathroom conveniently located near the living spaces.

Living space

A two‑story open floor plan connects the living room, dining area, and game room, creating a natural flow for gathering. A Smart TV and reliable Wi‑Fi let you stream movies or catch up on calls, though service may be slower at times due to the remote setting. Heating and air‑conditioning keep the interior comfortable in every season.

Kitchen & dining

The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare breakfasts, hearty dinners, or simple snacks. A nearby dining table seats everyone, making it easy to share meals, board games, or stories around the table.

Outdoor living

Multiple decks overlook private, wooded acreage, offering quiet spots for morning coffee or evening reflection. A fire pit stands ready for crisp evenings, perfect for roasting marshmallows while the stars emerge. The hot tub provides a warm retreat after a hike, and a grill with outdoor seating invites casual al‑fresco meals when the weather allows.

Nearby experiences

A short drive brings you to the town of Romney, where local shops and restaurants add a touch of community. State parks, scenic railroads, rivers, and mountain destinations such as Timberline Mountain and Canaan Valley Ski Resort are within easy reach for hiking, biking, or winter sports.

Pet policy & practical info

The cabin is pet‑friendly for dogs; cats are not allowed due to allergies. Quiet hours are observed according to neighborhood HOA guidelines, and the fire pit must be attended while in use and fully extinguished afterward. Regular cleaning sweeps decks, stairs, and walkways, though natural elements like leaves or pollen may still appear, especially in certain seasons.

Whether you seek a winter escape, a summer adventure, or simply a peaceful place to reconnect, this Romney cabin offers a welcoming, family‑oriented haven in the heart of the mountains.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Why they chose this property

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
