Charming QLD-style cottage, in Dunwich the Perfect base to explore Nth Straddie

Castaways a charming 2-bedroom house, walking distance to everything in Dunwich. There is a queen size bed in bed 1, double in bed 2 and a fold out futon in the multi-purpose room. We can comfortable sleep 6. Enjoy a BBQ on the Deck or a short stroll into town to visit the local restaurants and Brewery. We are pet friendly with a fully fenced yard. We charge a small $20 fee per stay for your pet. The cottage backs onto Straddie Super Sports a store that stocks just about everything, just incase you forget to bring something it’s so handy. If you are into fishing there is also a good range of bait and tackle in store.
Dunwich is ideally located near both vehicle and passenger ferry terminals and is the perfect base camp for your family holidays. A great base to explore the islands wonderful attractions and activities. Wake up in Dunwich, stroll down for a swim in the calm bayside beach or take a short drive to the stunning brown lake, blue lake, golf course, museum, walk to the Little Ship Club, Straddie Brewing, Sharks Football Club with excellent Thai Restaurant, Cafe near by grab breakfast and coffee. The island has so much to offer including the stunning Point Lookout Gorge walk and amazing surf beaches.

We had good time our stay with the accommodation. Perfect size for our family, two kids and with little dogs. Needed to drive to the beach everyday but it was just 15-20min drive then we can go everywhere so not too far. Love the cleanness, amenities and large size of fridge.

The cottage was very beautiful and cozy. Location wise: very close to the Ferry terminal, Food works, brewery and Museum etc. The kitchen was beautiful. Linda is an amazing host. We had a fantastic stay! Communication with Neil was excellent from the start—super responsive and helpful. The house itself was spotless—immaculately clean, tidy, and incredibly well-equipped, which made our stay so relaxing and enjoyable. Honestly, the photos don’t do it justice—it’s even better in real life. Added bonus: it’s within easy walking distance to the Dunwich shops. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely 4 night stay at castaway cottage. It had everything we needed plus more. The kitchen is much bigger than the photo and fully stocked.Communication with Neil and Louise was excellent.The yard is fully fenced and our spoodle Teddy was happy checking it out. Our daughter made fresh oranges juice from the orange tree and it as amazing!We highly recommend the cottage for a homey, coastal and charming stayThanks to Neil and Louise, communication was excellent as was their piece of paradise!

What a stunning little cottage! It is beautiful, very modern kitchen and bathroom. Gorgeous deck with a BBQ, full fridge and oven. So many personal touches too, i cute little welcome gift box, milk and sauce in the fridge. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil. Little tubes of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Games and so much more... we highly recommend this stunning cottage and will definitely be back
