Elizabeth, I am so sorry to read this and I truly understand your complaint. I would like to explain what happened. When we purchased this home and listed it as a rental, it did have a hot tub in the front, under the house in the carport area. We knew we could improve the amenities for this home. We spent a great deal of effort and money installing a custom pool in the backyard and worked to make it a really enjoyable feature. Unfortunately, the hot tub maintenance and issues that popped up (electrical and cleaning) ended up being more of a detriment instead of an asset and we felt like the pool accommodated our renters and activities well, in the privacy of the backyard. Therefore we removed the hot tub until we can have a safer plan and space for that kind of feature. We just completed our first year on the rental market. When we listed ShoreBreak on VRBO, we set our rates at a reasonable range, compared to houses that did not have pools, because we weren’t completely confident when the pool would be finished, due to Covid. With all of those ups and downs (construction, Covid, new to market) in mind, we continue to work hard to provide extra amenities to cover many added expenses visitors incur on vacation, to make ShoreBreak an easy destination. We provide many cleaning and paper products for your convenience, beach and pool toys for your enjoyment, and we provide an abundance of linens, making all beds before your arrival, which many homes charge extra for. We hope that you still felt like Shorebreak was a good value and we hope that you’ll consider returning. You’ll see that there will be ongoing efforts for more improvements and more amenities as the years go by, as we strive to help families come and make the most of their Topsail vacation.
