Casa El Delfin is a 3-level house only steps away from one of the most beautiful & peaceful beaches on the Pacific coast in Oaxaca, Mexico. It's located on the bay of Estacahuite just 5 minutes away from Puerto Angel (a small fishing village) & 30 minutes from Huatulco Airport. This listing is for the bungalow on the rooftop (3rd floor). It includes the entire rooftop (300 meters), open-air bedroom, dining space, and bathroom. The ocean view from the house is unforgettable.

Casa El Delfin, 3rd Floor Bungalow is a one-of-kind space with the most dramatic ocean views imaginable. Once on the rooftop, you'll need to go up a spiral staircase where you will find your dream, open-air bedroom. This bungalow has a matrimonial/queen-size bed with 3 large open-air windows w/screens (if you like to use) to view the ocean. There is a full bathroom on the rooftop. There is a nice dining area equipped with a gas stove, mini-fridge, and hot/cold water dispenser. If you rent this space, it would include the bungalow and entire rooftop all for yourselves. There are hammocks & lounge chairs to enjoy the ocean views and year-round sun. There is a small flight of steps to arrive to the 3rd floor. Kayaks and life vests are available to guests.

Casa El Delfin is a 3-level house only steps away from one of the most beautiful & peaceful beaches on the Pacific coast in Oaxaca, Mexico. It's located on the bay of Estacahuite just 5 minutes away from Puerto Angel (a small fishing village) & 30 minutes from Huatulco Airport. The ocean view from the house is unforgettable. You will be able to view the beautiful sunrises everyday of your stay. You will have full access to 3 beaches to snorkel, swim, scuba dive, or just enjoy the sounds and smell of the ocean air. There's some of the most beautiful coral reefs and fish in this area. There are several open-air restaurants/bars on the beach close to the house and small grocery stores in the neighborhood for your convenience. This is truly paradise.

Estacahuite is pretty peaceful. At times, there may be dogs barking and roosters in the morning, music playing & fireworks especially around the holidays, and possible construction sounds which are all part of the neighborhood. We do have a 12:00 am (midnight) quiet time at our home.

All bedroom furniture, tables, and benches have been custom made using exotic wood by local artists.

There will be a building staff member available 24/7 for your convenience and will greet and let guests in when you arrive.

We do have external security cameras (no audio). There are no interior cameras. They are installed for the entrances to the property and in the exterior terrace passage areas. These are on at all times. This is for liability and safety measures for our guests.

The view and the location are a 10 out of 5! You are stops from a gorgeous beach with great swimming and snorkeling. Watching the whales go by from the deck several times a day never got old. There are beach-club/restaurants and a mini-markets close by. It's a 20 minute walk into Puerto Angel (less than 5 minute drive), and the tourist towns with more restaurants and bars aren't too much further of a drive.The host was very communicative; they let us know how to contact the housekeepers, let us know when their schedule changed, and checked with us every other day or so to see if we needed anything.There are a few things to be aware of though... You are essentially living outside, even with netting around the bed mosquitos get in at night, and you need to spray yourself when on the patio after dark. There are A LOT of ants (we kept everything wiped down, food sealed in zip-lock bags, and sprayed every other day). The stairs are steep so be aware if you have mobility issues. Wi-Fi was very slow even by Mexico standards (no streaming possible); seems to be the provider as there is a router in the bedroom. Finally the "kitchen" is minimally equipped; we struggled to make the few meals we didn't have out.We loved staying here and definitely would do so again.

Wake up with the waves

This little apartment is largely a beautiful patio with exceptional views of the sea and an open-air dining and lounging area. The bedroom is up a winding staircase to a palapa-roofed structure. Estacahuite is amazing for snorkeling. The coral reef is right off the beach. And there’s a little restaurant for lunch or breakfast at the beach. Simple and perfect for a couple.

Gorgeous View

Casa Delfin is just above Estacahuite Beach. The apartment was very unique with a massive deck overlooking the beach, perfect for spotting migrating whales. It had a nice little outdoor kitchen and dining area constructed with beautiful local wood furniture. The loft type bedroom was lovely but some might find the stairs down to the washroom a challenge at night. Andrea our host on sight was lovely.

Location and Communication

Location, location, location! One of the closest spots to the beach. Beautiful view! We saw whales from the terrace. The water is an amazing color! Communication from the host was top-notch. Very responsive. When we needed something, it was immediately provided. This place is more like “glamping”. No doors. No private space. There is a safe for passports but other than that, there is no security to the floor in which this is located. I would not stay here as a single female. Some screens needed repaired, but upon our request, a mosquito bed-net was promptly provided. There are many steps and hills, so not a good place for people with mobility issues. Housekeeper was on-site. There is not a whole lot of privacy. Four or five times, the housekeeper just showed up, once while we were in bed. We were on the verge of falling asleep when we looked up and he was staring at us. Other times, we were napping in the hammock when they just appeared. I wish there was a door to lock or even a bell to ring to announce their intention to come up the stairs. The bathroom is not plumbed correctly, so there is a constant sewer smell emitted. We covered the hole in the sink with a towel when not using it which helped. Outdoor kitchen has a small fridge, coffee pot, and electric stove. Pans need replaced because Teflon coating has many scrapes. If these things get updated then I would give it 5 stars. The lack of a real, lockable door really bothered us. Camera also on-site.

Beachfront oasis!

So glad we opted for the rooftop room! The views are amazing, you've got all the necessary amenities and while it was certainly hot, you're literally 1 minute away from a great beach, there's always shade to be found, and there's a wonderful evening breeze to cool you down. The complimentary water and snorkeling gear were much appreciated and Andrea was always nearby and happy to help with anything you need. The one thing to note is that there are roosters and dogs nearby, which we found to be loud at night (even with earplugs) but it wasn't too bad. Overall, we spent a great few days at Casa el Delfin and would highly recommend to any couple looking for an opportunity to live fully outdoors in the beautiful Mexican climate!

If you're looking for paradise, you've found it here. This is the perfect place to relax and spoil yourself with all the natural beauty that surrounds you. This is a very friendly, safe, area full of the richness of the Mexican culture, good food and shopping from artesans for keepsakes. If you're looking for the night life, just minutes away you'll find nearby Puerto Angel, Zipolite and Mazunte.

Puerto Angel (small fishing village) is a short walk away by the main road and you'll find a couple of small supermarkets and a fruit/vegetable market, as well as some beach restaurants and street food. Medical services are also available.

Pochutla, 20 minutes away by car, is the favored market town for this large area and where you'll find all you need for food shopping, banks, & main hospital.
