The Big Tatanka is the perfect place to experience the Ozarks. This gorgeous 2 story home sits on the bank of the White River at Buffalo Shoals in a private setting with walk in access to the river, allowing you to enjoy one of the most beautiful locations in the Ozarks. The Big Tatanka offers plenty of space to spread out and enjoy your stay. The home sleeps 15. The main level includes dining for 15, a full kitchen, a large great room, 3 full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a deck overlooking the river. The lower level offers a 2-car garage, 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, a large great room, foosball table, refrigerator, microwave, and patio. For the more adventurous types, the home is approximately 2 miles to a Buffalo National River hiking trail, approximately 6 miles to the Ranchettes public boat launch on the White River, and approximately 9 miles to a public launch access on the Crooked Creek. We would be happy to connect you with some local guide services if you have a desire to book a guided fishing trip while staying with us.

Buffalo Shoals Getaway

This is an excellent property for family retreats. It's just the right size for our family of 12. The house and amenities are great and the river views beautiful. This was our third year there and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay each time. The owners are wonderful, gracious people.

Clean, secluded, plenty of room

This was a great location for a guys trip getaway. Plenty of room to accommodate our group. This is a unique stretch of river that provides great scenery and seclusion. The host was great with communication and had the place looking great inside and out. Can't wait to come back!

Great Family Getaway

What a great location for large families. Peaceful and great outdoor space to play and venture on the river. Very clean and fully supplied. Sandy was helpful and was available for anything we needed. Looking forward to a return visit.

Wonderful Family Getaway

The house has the most amazing views od the white river from multiple decks and patios. A beautiful property with ample room to walk and hosted all of our family without feeling cramped. A true gem 8n Northern Arkansas!

Peaceful and perfect for families

We came to Flippin to relax, kayak, and do a little fishing. We had 4 adults, a teen, and an 11 yr old. This home was the perfect set up. We had plenty of room to let the kids play around and the adults relax. Sandy was a great host from check-in to check- out. She made sure we had everything we needed, answered questions we had about the river access, and even came out to make sure everything was okay after a storm. We have only good things to say about our stay!

Eclipse Trip

My wife and I along with our 3 kids, my sister, her husband and their 2 kids, and my parents, all met here for a sat-tuesday long weekend with the monday eclipse being the highlight. We wanted somewhere a little off the beaten path and this spot was perfect! Large, clean house, plenty of room to accommodate the 11 of us. So very peaceful and quiet. Beautiful view right on the white river, several bald eagle spotting's every day we were there so bring some binoculars if you have them. Kitchen stocked with all the necessities, a grill out back, cornhole, the girls enjoyed the rock painting garden, firepit was great. Walk in river access was very nice. Love that there was not much else around the property but a short 20-40 min drive to stores if needed and some good hiking. Would recommend the Indian Rock Trail hike, it was about a 45 min drive from the property. Overall, loved the place with plenty of privacy and quiet surroundings. And the eclipse was amazing of course!! Sandy was excellent host and had great communication with anything we needed. Would definitely come back!!

The River Retreat

As last year, the house was perfect for our group. The weather cooperated this year, so we were able to more fully enjoy the property playing Baggo and enjoying the fire pit and smores at night. The river view is spectacular. I could just sit on the deck or gazebo and enjoy the running waters. Excellent VRBO location. Owners have provided everything you could need and are such nice people.

Lovely White River Location

We have a large family and celebrated Thanksgiving on the White this year. We had plenty of room for all. And it was a perfect kitchen (well stocked with pots/utensils) for cooking. We loved being on the river for fishing and exploring and used the fire pit for s'mores! Really great place and host were very helpful.

Perfect Vacation Home on White River

This lovely property on White River is amazing. Everything about it was simply perfect and I’m not exaggerating. From breathtaking views from the balcony to having a lot of beds and sofas and games…this house have it all. Sandy and Scott are amazing people and we hope to be back to their place again.

Was a great house in a great location

Had a great weekend in the house! Was as advertised. Only thing I wished was better was the Wifi even though im sure they have limited options given the location. Would definitely stay there again and recommend!

Comforts of Home

Sandy did a fabulous job giving special attention to details. She welcomed us with a personal tour of the property, she provided a gift basket that had something suitable for all ages and provided fresh vegetables from her garden. There was always something to do, such as, kayaking, fishing, cornhole, painting, sightseeing, and just relaxing on the deck or by the river. It's a beautiful place with very friendly hosts. It's definitely a place we would visit again.

Excellent!

Property owner super friendly and helpful! The house and river access/view was as advertised and spectacular. Secluded and quiet. Cell service not available, however there is WiFi, dish and a land line. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect getaway on the White River with an exceptional view!

If you are looking for a large property directly on the river with walk-in access, this is your place! We had a great time fly fishing, playing games, cooking, using the firepit for hot dogs and s'mores, watching the bald eagles over the river, listening to the shoals, relaxing and spending down time together. Our crew had 6 adults and 3 teens/tweens and we plenty of space. The place was very clean and the owners had great communication. It was also extremely well stocked for cooking, etc. It is a pretty remote location (at least for us city people) but that was fine by us. All the little extras made this place great for a getaway. There is no cell service (at least with AT&T) but there is Wi-Fi.

Excellent Getaway

The property is very well decorated and clean. They thought of everything you could need in the kitchen, from a crock pot, blender, toaster, etc. to plenty of pots and pans, dishes and silverware. Couldn't have felt more like home. The river view is wonderful and if weather had been better for us, lots of fishing to be had. Just an overall excellent location.

Fantastic stay! Ready to go back.

This was a perfect getaway in an absolutely outstanding home. Everything was breathtaking, every detail was attended to and the view of the river from the deck was unparalleled. Our host was delightful, helpful and accommodating to our need. Strongly recommend this as a must go to for your next Ozark vacation to anyone want the perfect place to relax in luxury.

An unforgettable memory.

Sandy went above and beyond to make sure our stay was fantastic. We had a small wedding here and it was more magical then we could have imagined. This property was perfect for our wedding, but I would also be perfect for a family reunion, a fishing trip, or just a get away. This property has it all- literally. I would 100% recommend.
