Family beach house at 11 Third Street on Biddeford Pool's South Point. An architectural gem, this contemporary cottage sits a short block away from the rocky coast line of Maine and a five-minute walk to the sandy beach or the Audubon trail. After a fun packed day at the beach - surfing, finding shells, or kayaking, enjoy a lobster picnic in the backyard or grilling on the deck. Peaceful, safe street for children to run, bike and play.
Perfect for a family with lots of amenities. Newly renovated with bright, seaside decor. Family room features cathedral ceiling with skylights and wood burning fireplace, beautiful windows and glass doors leading onto generous deck and yard beyond. Flowing, open floor plan has two first floor living areas with lots of space and direct access to outside deck.
New custom kitchen with Wolf Cooktop and Shaws Original farm sink is a chef's delight. Dining room is a wonderful place to entertain with table that seats 8 and original built-in china cabinet. Wide board pine plank floors throughout.
Second floor features three bedrooms; master with queen bed, two twins and one double bed. Upstairs living room looks down on family room below, the perfect place to curl up with a good book on a quiet afternoon. Futon offers additional sleeping option.
We have been vacationing here as a family for years and Chris grew up here in the summer. Love the peaceful location, quintessential American summer town.
Lots of family time - beach outings, both at the sandy and rocky beaches. Longtime friends, family. Golf, tennis, bike rides, sailing, sea kayaking. Long warm days in the sun with a cool calm evening. Walking to Goldthwaite's for an afternoon ice cream.
We had an amazing stay in Biddeford Pool. The house was large, very well equipped, clean, comfortable and extremely wee located a few block from the beach.
The two families had plenty of space for adults, children and dogs in the house and in the vast garden where we ate and sat by the fire pit in the evening.
I strongly recommend it and hope we will be back soon.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful, warm summer week at this beautiful Maine cottage in mid-September. Our daughter & grandchildren (4, 6, & 8) joined us for most of the visit for an especially enjoyable, relaxing and fun vacation. The beach is very closeby and even allows dogs -- our poodle LOVED chasing the seagulls & sandpipers. We especially enjoyed walks on the Audubon trail out to the point overlooking the Wood Island Lighthouse. The house is set up perfectly for families with great space for communing together and also a separate front living room for enjoying some quiet time. Beds & bedrooms are well set-up & very comfortable. The area is quintessential Maine -- really can't beat the lobster fresh-steamed in sea water at Goldthwaite's (the local store) with picnic tables right out back overlooking Saco Bay. Wow! One of our best family vacations and we definitely would love to come back to this home again. Thank you!!
A++ Would stay here again! The first floor had vaulted ceiling, light, airy, open concept that brought the kitchen and the living area together. Terrific deck & back yard. Two separate dining areas (one is a great game table). Bedrooms were nice with comfortable beds & cheery beach decor. We loved the loft upstairs with the big tv so kids can unwind. Very kid friendly house. Short walk to the big beach, and the kids loved the rocky beach too. Beach had lots of open space -- flat, LONG and not very busy. A public bathhouse on the beach had bathrooms not too far away (again great with the kids). The owners of the house are very nice and easy to work with. We love this cottage!!!!
My husband and I rented this home to share with our daughter's family including her husband and our 3 & 6 year old grandchildren. We had a wonderful week in this well-maintained, architectually inspired beach cottage. The house has everything a family would need, especially the fantastic deck & beautiful, protected grassy yard. Light & breeze poured in through the extra-tall windows in the family room which connected to the open & newly-renovated kitchen. The owner was extremely helpful and we'd certainly recommend this home to others. It was one of our best vacations ever and we truly look forward to returning again soon.
Our family of 5 plus 2 grandparents stayed in early June and had the BEST vacation!! The listing is even better than described -- beautiful home, very comfortable beds, cheery decor, well-equipped kitchen & breezy, open feeling. Perfect beach home & wonderful owners who were super-easy to work with. We especially enjoyed the vast, green backyard lawn where our kids played for hours and we could enjoy morning coffee, the afternoon in the hammock, and reading in the Adirondeck chairs. We walked down to the end of the street to the quiet beach where our kids could explore & our dog could run freely. Just a picturesque spot and the perfect Southern Maine location for a family vacation. Thanks for a great week -- we can't wait to come back!!
