Home Away From Home

It was like being at home. So restful and relaxing. Nature at it's finest. We had everything we needed and more. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets so soft. We would love to come again in the future. Our dog, Bella loved being lazy on the porch. Thanks for a wonderful five days.

So much to love

  • 5 of 5

Eight diverse women riding their motorcycles from three different locations met to vacation together here for four days and nights.

PROS (most of which are listed in the property description

- Beautiful property.

- House with porch, deck and dock is large enough for eight grown-ups to have plenty of privacy and time to themselves, if desired

- Garage was nice for keeping eight large motorcycles out of the weather. However, appeared small so may be tight for larger cars or SUVs.

- Kitchen was fully equipped with all of the dishes, cookware and gadgets you would need, including some leftover non-perishables like flour, sugar, salt, pepper, etc.

- Washer and dryer was SO convenient

- Easy access to most shopping or dining you might want.

- Property managers were easily reached for questions or issues with the house or property.

- Remote location, so not a good place for cell phone access. The cell phone provider for the majority of our group was Verizon and making/receiving/holding calls was difficult. Even so, ALL phones (even the AT&T customers') said "3G".

- WIFI signal was tricky. We could not use it to for Google search or to check emails on our smart phones. Yet, we were able to stream video. Go figure.

- Washing machine doesn't spin water out very well so clothes are still quite wet when they complete the cycle unless you run it through another spin, washing smaller loads, or otherwise make adjustments.

- All of the tree coverage brings humidity, mosquitoes and lots of bugs. The mosquitoes were large and abundant.

- Dry county. If you want to drink alcoholic beverages, you will have to bring them with you.

Bottom line: We LOVED our stay here. The cons were not nearly enough to put a damper on things. I just listed everything for informational purposes. We took a dip in the river and it was COLD, but made for a lot of fun. The rest of the time we were out exploring the rest of what Arkansas had to offer.

Owner's Response: Y'all ladies were great guests and I am so glad you enjoyed the area. Sorry the wifi wasn't cooperating while you were with us. We do have very good wifi as we have to use it for work while we are there and with our bluetooth printer that we have there. So far no other guests have had a problem (I have checked) but my internet service will come out and run some diagnostics when I get there just to be sure everything is in good working order. Cell service in the house is good downstairs and outside. just not great in the upstairs as we had a tin roof put on (husband's idea). We did spray for mosquito's several times this summer but with all the rain, it's hard to know how much of the spray was effective. Please know this is not typical. We do have them of course but not like we had them this year. Anyway thank you for taking such good care of my home. My housekeeper said you left it in great shape and that is always appreciated.

The house and surrounding property are so very clean and so relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

Three generations took advantage of the open spaces, the wonderful deck, the house with so much room that we were never in each other's way. It is quiet, fun to watch for the rise in the river level, the hot tub on the deck kept everyone entertained and in general we highly recommend this wonderful spot if ever in the area!

Beautiful river views and fully stocked house

  • 5 of 5

Our second year coming to the Little Red Treehouse for my husbands birthday. We have decided to make this an annual trip. We love the dock and the views from the porch. The house is stocked so well that we bring groceries and never leave the house. Its also such a treat to be able to bring the dog with us so we do not have to worry with finding a dog sitter for the weekend.
