While I'm pleased to know this guest appreciated our beautiful, clean property that is so close to the beach and restaurants, I'm disappointed she chose my place to stay. Shortly after her group arrived, she contacted me to say the A/C was not working properly. I immediately contacted my cleaning gal who left about 15 minutes before the guests arrival. She assured me all was working fine when she was cleaning. If the temperature was rising after the guests arrived, it could be explained by them moving in and leaving the doors open. The outdoor temp was in the 90s. In any case, I take guests concerns seriously, so I contacted the A/C company and scheduled an appointment for them to assess the situation. In the meantime, we monitored the system as it cooled to 74 degrees. The guests told me it was okay to cancel the technician. The system continued to work without issue for the remainder of their stay and was perfect for the next guests. Pool service is scheduled for Fridays and included in the information provided to the guests. The technicians were denied entry to service the pool in the morning and afternoon. The company called to ask me what to do. I decided to pay for a special service call the next day after the guests checked out. That was the only way I could be sure the pool would be in perfect condition for the incoming guests.

I feel the need to respond to this review. When the initial reservation request was submitted, I did not accept the rental right away. I completely explained the situation and made sure the guest was aware that construction of the pool would be ongoing and the site could be very noisy and dusty during work days. The exceptionally low rate for high season reflected the potential for disruption. I also agreed to provide an additional refund for each day a crew was actively working on the project. When I informed the guests that work was scheduled for the following week, they asked if the crew could delay a day because one guest had a phone meeting planned. I made those arrangements even though it delayed the project and made a one day job stretch into two (afternoon of the first and morning of the second). The guests rented the house for twenty days, crews were on site for a total of three days, and all three work days were heavily discounted.
