This place is an absolute gem!!! We loved it and will definitely stay here again! The home is gorgeous! The kitchen is beyond amazing! It was well stocked with every utensil and appliance we could have imagined! The area is so relaxing and quiet! Went hiking to the top of Terrapin Mountain (it’s a doozy!) and just enjoyed ourselves thoroughly!!!

Thank you so much for your warm review, Karen! We are so thrilled that you loved your stay. We would be glad to host you again anytime,
Everything was perfect. Weve stayed here before and will certainly be back. Total relaxation and Quiet with amazing common areas, bedrooms and Kitchen. Thank you!
The home was absolutely breath taking on the inside!!! It also had everything you would need to prepare a meal in the kitchen with a open concept. The entire house was clean from top to bottom and The host was amazing. My daughter was graduating and they took time to hang a congrats graduate banner, it was so beautiful. They also baked us some cookies with a warm welcome note. If you're into nature they have a trail close by that my sons went on a hike and enjoyed. They also have a awesome patio and a beautiful deck you can go outside and enjoy. I would definitely stay again.

Thank you for the lovely review, D. We are so pleased that you enjoyed the house for all of it's beauty inside and out. We were honored to be a part of your daughters special weekend.
The home and property were absolutely amazing!!!! The home was immaculate and was one of the most calm and relaxing places I have ever stayed at. It was for work, but it felt like a vacation. This veteran and team of brothers-in-arms will be staying here every time we have work in that area.
Our host’s kindness and attention to detail stood out most. He went above and beyond to help us with everything — from recommending local bakeries for our wedding cake to suggesting nearby hotels for our guests and sharing everything we needed to know about the area. The house itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and full of thoughtful touches that made our wedding weekend feel extra special.
The property is lovely and the home has been completely updated, especially the kitchen. It's location is quiet and peaceful. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the overlook deck and listening to the cows.
Wonderful country setting. An older house that has been completely refurbished but retained its original charm. The kitchen and great room have windows all around so you can see the wildflowers and butterflies up close as well as the mountains in the distance. It’s easy to get to and you see no other residences from this house. It has a rooftop deck that’s wonderful as well. Plenty of space for my family, and it was incredibly clean when we arrived.
The house is beautifully renovated with decor worthy of a Southern Living spread! Gorgeous views of mountains and flower gardens. Pretty pond for fishing. Close to lots of local things to do: Safari Park, Natural Bridge, Blue Ridge Parkway, and quaint downtown Bedford where we spent a rainy day exploring the shops. Easy drive for any type vehicle. No four wheel drive needed. Highly recommend!
Beautiful. Clean and well equipped home. Very quite atmosphere. Would recommend better access to pond, apple orchard and creek as they are suggested places to explore in description. But we loved the house and area.
I’ve used vrbo multiple times and this house has to be the absolute best one yet! Even better than the pictures. The hosts are so gracious and friendly. The furnishings and amenities are comfortable and inviting. We had a girls weekend but I’m planning to bring my family back here!

Thanks for much for that wonderful feedback, Misty! We loved hosting you and hope to have to back again!
Amazing house in a stunning setting. It is rare to stay at a VRBO where the pictures truly don’t do the house and location justice, but this one exceeded our expectations on all levels. From the incredible kitchen, to the multiple wildlife viewing areas, to the expertly curated furniture, comfortable beds and entertaining areas, this house delivers a premium experience. The serene, pastoral setting with Terrapin Mountain as a backdrop is just stunning….we have stayed up and down the Blue Ridge Mountains, and it doesn’t get better than this. The hosts are friendly, easy to reach and definitely go the extra mile to ensure their guests are happy and well pampered. Highly and thoroughly recommended, and we will definitely be back!
Highly recommend staying at this gorgeous home in the mountains! It was clean, cozy, and so relaxing. The massive wrap-around porch with rocking chairs was serene and peaceful. Huge open area in the kitchen and family room allows for entertaining and hanging out while experiencing the beauty all around you. The three bedrooms were very spacious and the rooftop lounge area was enjoyed by all of us. Driving distance to Liberty University is about 35 mins but a beautiful drive. Only thing I would mention is there were a lot of lady bugs inside upon arrival but that is to be expected this time of year and was easily taken care of and did not alter our weekend at all. Host was easy to get hold of. Definitely would stay here again and hope to soon.
Rest, relaxation with top notch care! Pulling up to the house was like a picture in a postcard! Then walking in and seeing the class of 2025 decorations was the cherry on top!!! Jeffery was quick to respond and answer any questions we had. Our only suggestion would be to add blinds to the upstairs bedrooms but outside of this was beyond perfect and we can’t wait to come back soon!
This house was everything we could have asked for and more. The location was amazing. It was secluded at the foot of the mountains, which made for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It was quiet and peaceful. It was also centrally located to area attractions, such as, natural bridge, VA safari park, Lynchburg, and the natural bridge caverns. The house was very spacious and extremely well appointed especially the kitchen. There was plenty of room to spread out and relax. Having a house of this caliber certainly made our trip much more enjoyable.
I left a piece of my soul at this property on the front porch. Lovely location and the place was spotless and updated. We will be returning. Must rock on the porch again to the whisper of the weeping willows and see the stars at night—the view of wildflowers while you wash dishes in a five-star kitchen is unparalleled. If you choose this property, you aren’t choosing a house for its proximity to a Walmart or the many choices for food delivery. You are choosing a first class rental for tranquility and natural beauty with finishes that also make your bougie side happy.
We had a fantastic time at Terrapin Mountain! We felt like we were living in a photo shoot for an magazine. Bright, light and cheerful. The huge kitchen had many thoughtful extras, from the soda stream to the well stocked chef tools.
Every window beautifully framed the stunning flowers or mountains.
We enjoyed the second floor deck overlooking the pastoral scene, both day and night, as the stars were so clear and bright.
The happy cows even had adorable calfs that frolicked and played.
The two bathrooms were luxurious, and both had stand alone soaking tubs, as well as elegant showers. The sheets were so soft, and the bed itself was perfect.
The WiFi was sufficient to run our predownloaded Netflix shows.
This house was so lovingly remodeled. The blend of old and new was harmonious.
While there were only two of us this trip, this house could handle a larger group easily.
This is a rural area, so we would encourage you to plan your meals more than you would elsewhere, as it is a bit of a trek to a grocery store.
The hosts were terrific too. They were very responsive when an issue came up, and fixed it with great speed and care. We were very impressed.
We look forward to returning with friends soon!
The property was clean and modern it fit our needs perfectly . we were 6 adults it was quiet and peaceful
It is remote for example it was 25 min from grocery store
A group of girlfriends and I stayed at this home from 9/30/22-10/2/22. It was the weekend that the remnants of the hurricane hit our area and it was raining non-stop. But that did not damper our stay one bit. The house was perfect for being stuck inside all weekend. It's large, so everyone had ample space to be alone if needed, lounge, dance, play games, etc. The kitchen was by far my favorite part of the home. It is a chef's dream! Everything you think you might need, you'd find there. Even things I don't have in my own home. And that gigantic island in the middle of the kitchen was my favorite place to gather with my friends. Sitting on the patio or the deck, soaking in the tubs, or staring out at the mountains (or cows!!!) off the deck was just so serene. I did explore some of the grounds while wearing rain boots and a poncho and it's just beautiful. I highly recommend this place! You won't be disappointed.
This property is clean, beautifully furnished, comfortable and in an absolutely gorgeous area of Bedford County, Virginia. Sipping morning coffee on the front porch, while listening to the sounds of birds was nothing less than heavenly. If allowed, I would award this property more than 5 stars.
Stay was great. Bring your own pillow if you don’t like soft pillows! Other than that, the property was excellent. Will come again! Thanks for having us!

Great ... until something goes wrong
Nicely renovated 18th century farmhouse in a great rural location. Spacious and airy with lots of windows and a rooftop deck. Kitchen well-stocked with dishes, pots and pans, with new appliances. Lots of couches and chairs and a big dining table.
We contended with an increasingly strong foul odor throughout the weekend we were there, apparently coming from a taped-up refrigerator in the entryway mud room. It was noticeable at the dining table adjacent to the mud room and we could not find air fresheners or candles to mitigate the smell. I attempted to contact the owner (through the "We're always here for you ... 24/7" customer service I paid for) but did not get a response until we had returned home. A disappointing downside to an otherwise enjoyable weekend away.
