My family really enjoyed a weeks stay at the Morris Orchard farmhouse. Kids and I had a great time roaming around the property and the Barnes family were great hosts. Many outdoor activities within an hour drive of the property.
Great house in a beautiful setting!
My family (and dog) stayed at this home over the Thanksgiving holiday. We were greeted with fresh apples and apple cider - such a treat - and Wil and Judy were great hosts. They answered questions quickly, taught us about apple butter production, and Wil is a great source of local information. The house was very clean and well maintained - and the kitchen has enough pots and pans to cook your traditional Thanksgiving feast. At night we were amazed at how many stars there were - something that city living doesn't afford! We had a long over due vacation and truly relaxed - went for walks through the orchards, visited the goats, played games, and went hiking about a 30 min drive away. We were sad to go but hope to return in the future! I highly recommend picking up a few jars of apple butter on your way out - spectacular on pancakes!
Beautiful spot and house furnished nicely. Great place for kids and just relaxing. Will keep it in mind for future.
Amazing place to stay.
Charming House and Picturesque Location
Loved the rental. Checking in and out was simple, and there was even a gallon of apple cider waiting for us in the fridge upon our arrival. It was a great place to wake up in the morning; we ate breakfast on the porch and watched visitors driving up to come pick out pumpkins. We had a group that filled this house to capacity in town for a wedding in Lynchburg. It was a bit longer of a drive to town that is ideal, but the location is the location-- and it's a good one, worth the extra driving time. It seems like it could be a great place for families and large groups of young adults alike.
Staying on a working farm was a great experience
Plenty of room for 3 couples and 2 toddlers. There is a lot to see and do around the orchards and gardens. The owners were quick to respond to our requests (toddler seat for the table). This area, Monroe, is very scenic, full of pastureland and nice farms. It was relaxing to sit out on the porch and watch visitors come and go to the store. We found good places to go running with very little traffic. I would definitely recommend this to others!
