Right next to the Debtor's Prison - built in the late 1787, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. (Check out Wikipedia for more info.) Right across the road is the Prince Edward County Clerk's Office built in 1855. Less than 1 mile from Hampden Sydney College, established in 1775 (10th oldest college in the US.)

Briery Lake and Sandy River Reservoir (fishing spots in Prince Edward) are 5 minutes and 15 minutes away respectively. The property where the Worsham Farmhouse is located has Angus Beef Cows on sight, bee hives/local honey, and an outside farm cat that enjoys greeting anyone who wants so attention.

Hampden-Sydney Homecoming

Worsham Farmhouse is wonderful!!! It is very spacious with lots of room! Perfect kitchen. This is an ideal place to stay!

This is a keeper

I loved the quiet, the back porch where I got wonderful warming sun in my face. The kids and my daughter had a chance to see cows up close and made friends with the owners cat. It was a great time that I will never forget.

Cozy and clean!

We loved this house and the location was perfect for us to get to all of the events we needed to over the weekend. We had to book at the last minute, Danielle, the host was very communicative and quick to respond. The house was very clean, beds were comfortable and we loved looking at the cows!

Farmhouse Charm in Southside Virginia

This clean and delightful home has everything one needs for a comfortable stay near Farmville, Hampden-Sydney College, and Longwood University. The owner was caring and communication was effortless. Highly recommended!

Lovely home a quick six minutes from Hampden-Sydney

WOW! My husband and I have stayed at a large number of homes over the years, and this was truly the cleanest one we've ever experienced! Just as described, great communication and quiet surroundings. Bed was very comfortable, and we slept great! Can't wait to get another opportunity to return!

Awesome and Close to Hampden-Sydney

This was a great place to stay for visiting my son at Hampden-Sydney--literally just a few minutes away. The family room was perfect---my son and a friend came over each evening during the stay and we watched sports on the big TV. I wish this house was available every time we traveled there!

High Bridge

We traveled to FarmVille to ride our bikes on the High Bridge Trail with friends. The house was perfect for our needs. Very nice.

Home away from home

Our oldest son performs in a world class percussion drum corps group that was performing in Powhatan. My wife, our teen aged son, and I were looking for a place to stay for the weekend. Hotel rooms were available, but the thought of staying in a room with 2 queen beds wasn't a great fit for us. I found Danielle's listing and her farmhouse was perfect for us. Two bedrooms, two full baths and a separate family room with a smart TV and wifi. This suited us completely, as my wife often wakes up in the middle of the night when she can't sleep, so she would be able to go to the family room without disturbing the rest of us. Bring your K-cups. It has a wonderful Keurig in the kitchen. It's a farmhouse, but don't let that discourage you. Everything in it is modern, functional and clean. It's a farmhouse. Yes, there is a field with cows and barns right behind the house. It was worth it for us when our son went out and watched the cows, and told us that he had never heard a cow moo before! Danielle was a great host. We didn't meet face-to-face, but she always responded immediately when we reached out to her. If you are looking for a home away from home while you visit or explore locally, this is a great place to stay.

Worsham Farmhouse is wonderful!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay! We booked the farmhouse for the Hampden Sydney homecoming weekend. The house was amazingly clean and organized. The host, Danielle was fabulous to deal with. The location was terrific. The location is within a 5 minute drive to the campus. We will definitely book the property in the future. Thank you Danielle!!!!

Serenity in Worsham!

We couldn't have been more at home! If you're looking for the perfect place to unwind in a beautiful, spacious, serene location, you have to rent out Worsham Farmhouse! We even got a chance to visit downtown Farmville, go to the Farmer's Market, then retreat to the quiet respite of the Farmhouse!! And Danielle was amazing! The Farmhouse is immaculate with EVERYTHING you could need! We truly felt all the comforts of "home"! If we ever need to come to this area again, we'll be contacting Danielle! She thought of everything you'd need (or forgot to bring!)!! Beds were SO comfortable -- what a pleasant surprise! What better way to have coffee in the morning with the cows grazing happily 50 feet away!! Just a lovely little paradise!

What a wonderful stay

Dealing with the owner and staying at their very lovely place is about as good as it will get. It felt like a second home and the owner goes beyond the norm and made sure there is coffee, water, etc. waiting for us. Grateful for the experience and we'll be back.

Nice country house

Very nice old farmhouse. Quiet and plenty of room. Close to fishing lakes. Close to grocery store and amenities etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We will be back.

Very relaxing weekend

The home was spotless. It had loads of character. Everything we needed to cook meals. Close to the town and fishing. Best of all was Danielle, the host. She was really on top of things to make our anniversary weekend special. Look forward to coming back.
