About this property
2-nights accommodation at 1-Bedroom Executive Residence in London
Here are 2 days/2 nights in London, at the Grand Marriott in a luxury apartment in Mayfair right by Hyde Park. You are a short walk to the Hyde Park Winter Wonderland, and a few minutes on foot from Selfridges, John Lewis, Bond St., and your Christmas shopping. For a North American, finally, Afternoon tea makes sense - you're tired, cold and a 3 pm break to refresh at Claridge's, The Dorchester or the Wolsey is both a great idea and offers the oomph to propel you to some pre-theatre dining and world-class family entertainment

About the host
Hosted by Rodrik Cave

Canmore is family-vacation-focused hospitality & leisure company. We aim to discretely contradict the family vacation business model, initially for a few special clients, by avoiding an ad hoc offering based on budget and availability, and instead of crafting the perfect vacation week for the destination & time of year - in the hope that one family really will enjoy the vacation of a lifetime.
Consider us your small-batch, artisanal vacation planners!
Perfect Weeks - we realize that perfection is never attainable, but by working towards this as a goal, we believe that over time, we can offer something truly special for each family, particularly those we have had the privilege of working with over an extended period.
Busy, working parents need options to allow them to cope with work/family/service commitments as well as whatever life happens to throw at you.
Our initial plan is to secure hard-to-find houses at 5-star resorts and then build up itineraries that are engaged with the natural world, local history is maybe a bit cerebral, and at the same time - sporty and focused on your family, individually, as a very special group.
Canmore also aims for a lower impact model, traveling closer to home, to reduce the stress of vacation travel by offering a world-class experience without necessarily going to an airport.
Initially, aimed at a high-end market - our goal is to use what is a real force in tourism to support regional development, and we start by reframing the way people think about their travel dollar and vacation time. This is a work in progress, and we're interested in your opinion and we want to talk about it!

What makes this property unique
There are Christmas Jazz brunches (Ronnie Scott's, and sometimes Albert Hall) and beautiful matinees for Pantos and other children's productions. There is ice-skating at Somerset House (and a soon-to-be re-opened Courtauld Gallery) and light shows at attractions like Kew Gardens, Chiswick House, and Greenwich if you care to travel a bit further afield. Personally, I enjoy some holiday season football at the more family-friendly team venues like Fulham or QPR, but dress warmly (and make sure your seats are under the roof - as in London it can still rain this time of year)!
There are plenty of shows, and this year it doesn't seem impossible to get tickets. The Royal Opera House can also be arranged through Marriott's special relationship, while the ENO I believe is doing the Nutcracker. While not certain about specific dates/productions, in general, I've found it possible to get tickets this year to the majority of productions, concerts, and events. Handel's Messiah and other seasonal classical works are dotted in the calendar.
