House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

Rock walls, stucco exterior, tile floors, kiva fireplace, warm colors, rounded corners and desert landscaping create a warm and inviting New Mexico living experience with all the amenities of a 2005 built home. This artist's second home is filled with art and color and offers a wonderful place to retreat after a day of golf, exploration, hiking, shopping, 'arting' or discovering the many historic places of this Las Cruces community.

A private patio allows for morning coffee in the sun and evenings outside to watch the awesome New Mexico skies and stars. You will feel worlds apart while being just minutes from the golf course and the many other attractions nearby.

About The Owner

Bill is an artist, and Kat is a realtor licensed in the state of Colorado. Together, they love to golf. Las Cruces is a perfect community in which to enjoy art & golf, as well as hiking, warm days year round, gardens that burst into bloom easily and historic explorations.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005

Why The Owner chose New Mexico

Living in Colorado Springs, we began traveling to Las Cruces in 2004 as an easy & warm place to play golf in the winter months. Bill is an artist and was showing in Santa Fe, Taos & Albuquerque, so it was natural and easy to continue traveling south to this wonderful community. We were excited not only by the golf, but also by the historic places, the emerging art scene and the organic styles of homes existing and being built. As a realtor in Colorado, I was very intrigued with the real estate values, as well as the quality of homes constructed. We decided to purchase a second home to use as often as possible. And we have loved it dearly.

What makes this house unique

Our home is just two blocks from Sonoma Ranch golf course. We love playing there, and we so enjoy the club. We've tried many good restaurants in town, and keep coming back to the club as a favorite. I walk with the dog everyday, so the trails just three blocks from the house are great for this daily commitment. Every trip includes a visit to the Farmers Market, Old Mesilla, The Fountain Theater, local art galleries and Lulu's. We've also enjoyed White Sands, trips to El Paso, Alamogordo, other nearby golf and back road explorations.

Great house, location

  • 5 of 5

This is a very roomy 2 bedroom house. We had a wonderful stay. Joy is the best manager we have ever dealt with. Plenty of dishes in the kitchen so we didn't have to worry about running out between dish washer loads. A nice surprise was instant hot water....that really spoiled me.

A nice walled yard so we were able to let our dog out to enjoy the sunshine. The house is in a neighborhood, but because of the walls and different elevations felt very private. The location is perfect in the Sonoma Ranch area. It's close to everything, easy to get to I-25 and 70.

We love Las Cruces and there is always some event to look forward to. This is a great little "home away from home" to enjoy while exploring the city.

Warm and charming home

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with the home and the very prompt and helpful responses from the owner. All aspects of setting up our stay were handled in a very professional and friendly manner. The home was perfect for our needs and located in a great area. We stayed three weeks and the owner made sure we felt comfortable. The home has a lovely back yard which was nice for coffee in the mornings and chatting over a glass of wine at night. We had a great time and felt very relaxed and at home. I strongly recommend this home for a relaxing vacation.

A "Home" to Return To

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I definitely enjoyed our week at this well-supplied, artfully decorated, very clean, and conveniently located casita. It is in like-new condition, and we loved the instant hot water. There was nothing we needed or wanted that wasn't provided. Kat was a gracious hostess, quickly responding to our first inquires, the few questions we had as our vacation approached, and providing clear instructions prior to and upon arrival (written info was on the counter). Everything was easy.

We so appreciated that our little dog was allowed to tag along, and two grandchildren could spend the night. The local manager was also available right away when we called to let her know we arrived and when we were leaving. Our deposit was more than timely returned; received it in two days.

The casita is located in a wonderful walking neighborhood and you can easily travel to any part of town in a short amount of time. I can still see the morning sun pouring into the dining room window. We would definitely recommend this "lovely casita" to friends and family and it would be the first once we would seek out for availability when we return again to visit family.
