HISTORIC OAKWOOD 1 bedroom duplex! with Krispy Kreme just across the street :-). Walk to all Person St action - many restaurants & bars just a few blocks away toward Mordecai area and Moore Square only 1/2 mile away with lots of restaurants and entertainment venues. Original wood floors, fireplaces (non functional), newly renovated kitchen and bathroom.
Our space is the smaller side of a home that is divided as a duplex located in Historic Oakwood. The kitchen and bathroom have been renovated and the rest of the house is also renovated but still has its 1920 historic home charm (and some quirks). The 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom space is all on one level entering from the front of the house, but there are a full set of stairs to walk down to get to the shared backyard area. The central heat & air are controlled by the other side of the duplex, however we do provide heaters to help guest to control to suit their needs.
Great location to walk to downtown Raleigh. Krispy Kreme is just across the street with several restaurants and bars just a couple of blocks away. Moore square is only 1/2 away with many other restaurants and entertainment venues. Merrimon-Wynne is only a couple of blocks away (popular wedding venue). And a Publix grocery store about 1/2 mile down Peace St. Peace College is just around the corner and easy access to all other universities in Raleigh. Access to Hwy 40 is only 2 miles away to get to RDU Airport or other areas in the triangle.
We are happy to meet our guests but find that most like to check in with our keyless entry and reach out to us as needed. I do usually respond quickly - definitely within the hour unless it is a very unusual time.
Located in Historic Oakwood and adjacent to Mordecai area. Great neighborhood to walk around just to look at the beautiful historic homes!!
We do provide 2 parking passes to park for free at a business across the street. Guests can also park on the street where there is space. Be aware of restricted times. Very cute duplex. Perfect for two people. Communication with this host was fast and easy. If I find myself in Raleigh again, I would stay in this house again.
The host was very welcoming, responsive, and patient answering questions that were already answered in other communications if I had paid better attention. Adorable neighborhood/part of town close to fun entertainment areas.
Had to get out of the house for a couple days, and this was the perfect place to do it. Bed was comfortable, everything was spotless and communication with the owner was flawless. Would highly recommend!
We rented for 6 nights. The duplex is in a good location, clean, and comfortable. The host is quick to reply to all texts. We would definitely stay here again.
We could not have asked for a better stay or host while visiting Raleigh for the first time! Gayla was so helpful and was able to get us into the duplex early which was super nice after a long day of traveling. This stay is central to a lot of things walking, but also just a quick Uber drive if needed. Would highly recommend staying here again if we ever get the chance!
What a great find. We found a cozy home in downtown Raleigh. It had everything we needed. Being able to walk around downtown was a bonus. We definitely will be returning.
The property was perfect for me and my husband. The location is great, close to downtown with many restaurants that are walkable. I love the historic Oakwood neighborhood. Gayla is so helpful and responsive. We’ll definitely stay here again!
The host was welcoming via the app. The location was convenient and felt safe. The kitchen was lacking in cookware, the digital numbers on the oven were out, the hood over the stove didn’t work. We like to cook while traveling and so it wasn’t a good fit for us.
The location worked great for a relaxing 30minute walk to and from the Raleigh convention center each day. The lodging was clean and space efficient and just lovely to relax in each evening. I would definitely stay there again. Walking felt safe with plenty of joggers and dog walkers and lots of trees and beautiful plants and plenty of attractive buildings with interesting historical signs to read. The North Carolina Natural History Museum is nearby, free, and excellent to visit.

This is a cute, one bedroom with a fold out couch that is tastefully decorated in a safe neighborhood. Very clean. Just the right size-my daughter and I had plenty of room. Kitchen was the size of a normal home kitchen- seemed recently remodeled. Krispy Kreme is basically across the street and there’s a restaurant/bar with good food and drinks a couple blocks down the street. Free parking that was easy.
