A 'get away from it all' here you will find peace and tranquility at Playa Hermosa - the only sounds you are likely to hear are that of the ocean, the sounds of the local birds and the monkeys playing in the trees. Swimming in the sea is very safe here at Playa Hermosa due to it being in a cove and protected. This is our home and we live here all the time I do not think we could find a more beautiful place to live. We are here to help you if needed and it would be our pleasure if you were to come here as our guests and totally unwind and relax or do whatever you want to do in our tropical tranquil paradise location.

There are numerous tropical islands which include, Coiba island national parks & The Secas.

There are also several very good restaurants in the area within a short drive
from your apartment down towards Boca Chica (12- 15 mins drive)

David is the 3rd largest city in Panama. It is situated 1 hour away from our property on a very good road. Here you will find a large assortment of different shops, stalls and markets of all kinds. Some of the large shops here include Conways (this has just opened here December 09) Rey, Romero and 99 Shops are large supermarkets that are open 24 hours. There is also a large Pricesmart shop and numerous restaurants of all types and Casinos.
There are 2 large modern hospitals with all the latest equipment.

From here it is a very good point to visit Boquette, and also Volcan which is the highest point in Panama. Volcan is where the they gown a lot of the produce for Panama Cerro Punta which is a very famous place and is known as the bread basket of Panama.
Costa Rica frontier is only 40 minutes away from David.

CHIRIQUI is in the far western region of Panama having a border with Costa Rica that stretches down to the Pacific Ocean. The Gulf of Chiriqui provides a stunning prelude to the Pacific Ocean in which many small and uninhabited islands lay. The waters in this region are full of wildlife and opportunities for boating and finding those deserted islands.

Off the coast of Chiriqui out on the Pacific Ocean boasts some of the worlds finest deep sea game fishing along with NATURE WATCHING of the DOLPHIN, PORPOISE, WHALES, and SEA TURTLES to name buy a few.

Absolutely amazing!

If you are looking for a place on the ocean with stunning views and wonderful accommodations this is the place! We had a wonderful time and very relaxing, the next door neighbors Eda and Rafael were wonderful and provided us with information on what was going on in the area, and I highly suggest a boat tour of the surrounding islands , this has been the highlight of my trip to Panama!

Tranquil Oasis Getaway

Our stay was exceptional! The home itself is beautfully set in a very quiet and secluded gated community. There are spectacular unobstructed views of Playa Hermosa from numerous sitting areas on the property and direct beach access from the property as well! The pool was spectacular for cooling off and admiring the ocean views, sunsets, sunrises all while hearing many tropical birds. The home ia very well equipped with everything you could possibly need - literally just bring yourself! Very well maintained and super clean. The host (Rick) went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and was excellent at communciating with us to check in if we needed anything else. We stayed for 6 nights and wouldn't hesistate to rebook.

Fabulous Vacation in Panama

We planned this vacation for almost a year and it certainly exceeded our expectations. We spent four weeks here and couldn't be more pleased. Bob and Ann were wonderful hosts. When we arrived they were eager to show us the apartment. It is clean, so white, and comfortable. We were delighted with the full bowl of fruit that awaited us in the kitchen and pleased to find the refrigerator fully stocked --- more than enough for the first days there. Bob and Ann live on the property and, yet, we felt we totally had our privacy at all times. The pictures do accurately reflect the rental's appearance and amenities. The pool was beautiful and the view from the balcony was breathtaking every single day. The stairs to the beach are very well made and make the trip to the beach easy. Finding sand dollars on the beach every day was one of the highlights of the trip!! The beach also is scattered with beautiful colored rocks and pebbles. And what sunsets! We made it a habit to see the sun set each day and the sunsets were amazing. One of the special things that Bob and Ann have for their guests is a book that lists all the activities to do in the area. This was most helpful as we planned a few "road trips" to see more of the country. We traveled weekly into David (about fifty minutes) to get groceries. Bob and Ann usually went to David once a week as well and always asked us if we would like them to pick up something for us. The restaurant that they recommended between Boca Chica and Panama City is beautiful. I would recommend that guests would fly into David. The drive from David to Boca Chica is easy and allows for more time spent at the location. We travelled also to Boguete --- a great day drive I would highly recommend --- and be sure to stop at the locally owned book store along the way. The beach at Las Lajas is another place to visit--Only a short drive from the house, great restaurant (fish and chips are wonderful). Bob and Ann describe the beach as long enough to land a 747 and it's true. The apartment has a great library of movies, books, games, and music. This area is famous for its backpacking if that is an interest of yours. If you are looking for a place to really "get away from it all" this is the place. We would highly recommend this property. Hospitality--excellent. Property -- excellent. Would we go back? Absolutely, we are already looking at the calendar to re-book for next year!

Fantastic Views and Comfort!

Our family stayed at Ann and Bob's rental for 5 days. What a fantastic property! Private beach - you can walk for miles when the tide is out. Beautiful pool, with lots of floaties and Ann and Bob make them all available for their guests. They were kind enough to stock our fridge with some food so we didn't have to panic and run out to get groceries upon arrival. This place is a treasure - this is a remote property, but with a car you can get around easily and the drives are very nice. We did day trips to Volcan, Boquete - another beach Las Lajas. Bob set us up with a boat tour to a couple of secluded lovely beaches where we could snorkel and swim. We even had a manta ray fly into the boat! Overall, you can't go wrong here, the guest house is fully equipped, clean and very comfortable - you will NOT be disappointed.

Amazing location, rancho & pool

Very lovely and thoughtful owners, Ann & Bob left coffee & candy for us, plus cabinets with all the ingredients necessary for food preparation. Bob gets up with the sun to vacuum the pool & keeps the landscape pristine. We couldn’t get enough of the amazing pool, complete with deluxe floats. The outdoor living area was so inviting & the beach is right below the house. You’ll often find it deserted, but you may have to share with a handful of others! It was a beautiful place to spend time at the beach.

Sparkling clean house with gorgeous views

Bob & Ann welcomed us to their piece of paradise with chocolate and coffee - what a way to go! The rental is an apartment below their house, but was totally private and perfect for our group of 4. It had the best stocked kitchen I’ve ever encountered in a rental plus laundry facilities and a plethora of pool toys! We loved our night swims in the balmy breezes of Boca Chica. Fantastic Place, Fantastic Vacation

This was our 8th year visiting Ann's Rental. In that time , Ann and Bob have managed to maintain their high level of service of their guests and care of the apartment. The location is a wonderful place to let yourself slow down and relax. The apartment it quite comfortable with everything necessary for a perfect stay. Incredible Rental - loved every minute of our stay

My husband, mother and father rented this beautiful home for a few days in late March. It was everything promised in the listing and more. The home itself was stocked with everything we needed after a quick trip to the market in David. The pool was immaculately cleaned and they even provided floaties. We never saw another soul on the beach and enjoyed walking it daily. Our experience couldn’t have been more perfect. Amazing views

We had a little bit of a problem finding the house after a long drive. Bob & Ann where great them came and found us and lead the way to the house. The house is everything that was listed and more . We loved the dogs the pool was great loved walking on the beach found lots of shells. We should have stopped in David and bought more groceries near by stores didn't have much. What can be said that hasn’t already been said about this place? It is simply outstanding! This is our 7th visit to Bob and Ann’s and year after year the place is incredible...relaxing, peaceful, enjoyable. Bob and Ann have not relaxed their standards and you can expect the highest quality of stay that is within their power. If you have any questions or concerns they are quick to respond in an effort to make your vacation wonderful. The apartment is well appointed with almost anything you would need. Really, don’t bother packing shampoo, use that space for sunscreen! :) We highly recommend Ann’s Rental for your vacation. You won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful and Restorative

Despite arriving in the worst rain storm our hosts had seen in 10 years, and getting lost several times on the way, our stay at Bob and Ann's was all we hoped it would be. We stayed with our son Mark who is serving in the Peace Corp, and he needed a spot to work and rest! Bob and Ann had an apple pie waiting for us, since they knew Mark hadn't had any American food for over a year. But even sweeter were the Wisconsin-made brats they produced when we told them that was the food Mark was missing the most! The rachero was my favorite spot to relax. It has a beautiful view of the ocean and a wonderful breeze. The apartement has everything you could need and more! The pool is delightful, large enough to swim laps and the beach,at low tide, is a great place to power walk. We rested and were restored after our week's stay! One bit of advice is to arrive before dark because it's a bit difficult to find.

Ein Traum!

Wir hatten das große Vergnügen, zum Abschluss unseres Panamaurlaubes vier wundervolle Tage in dem wunderschönen Haus von Bob und Ann zu verbringen. Es ist einfach zauberhaft. Das Haus steht auf einer Anhöhe mit traumhaften Blick auf den Ozean und direktem Strandzugang. Der große Infinity-Pool direkt vor der Ferienwohnung war unser persönliches Highlight. Wir haben soooo viel Zeit darin verbracht. Die tollen Schwimmsessel haben wir geliebt. Und da in der Küche sogar schicke Plastikgläser für die Nutzung am Pool vorhanden waren, konnten wir auch hin und wieder einen Cocktail genießen. Frühstück gab es immer in dem kleinen Pavillon über dem Meer, man sitzt dort phantastisch, und in den Hängematten war es noch besser. Abendessen gab es auf der schönen Terrasse mit dem riesigen Gasgrill, den wir ausgiebig genutzt haben. Lecker... Die Wohnnung selbst war wunderbar geräumig, modern und mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet, super sauber und es fehlte einfach an nichts. Die Küche war perfekt ausgestattet und Bob und Ann hatten vor unserer Ankunft Bier, Wein, Softdrinks, Kaffee und einen kleinen Vorrat an Lebensmitteln bereit gelegt, so dass wir am ersten Abend und auch am nächsten Morgen auf jeden Fall versorgt gewesen wären. Auch die Bäder ließen keine Wünsche offen und es waren alle nur denkbaren Reinigungs- und Pflegeprodukte sowie reichlich Handtücher vorhanden. Man braucht eigentlich nur Badesachen und eine Zahnbürste mitzubringen. Im schicken Wohnzimmer gab es eine sehr gute Soundanlage und einen großen Flachbildfernseher. WiFi funktionierte super. Die Klimaanlage ebenso. Vor allen Fenstern und Türen waren Fliegengitter. Das vordere Schlafzimmer hatte eine große durchgehende Front aus Sonnen- und Sichtschutzglas. Der Blick auf den Ozean beim Aufwachen war einfach der Hammer. Zu erwähnen wäre auch noch der wunderschöne, gepflegte Garten, in dem unter anderem Bananen, Kokosnüsse, Maracujas, Ananas und andere tropische Früchte wachsen. Bob und Ann sind die liebsten und fürsorglichsten Vermieter, die man sich vorstellen kann. Super freundlich, zurückhaltend, aber bei Fragen und Wünschen aller Art sofort zur Stelle. Vielen Dank, liebe Ann, für das frisch gebackene Brot. Es war sooo lecker... Wir danken Euch sehr für die wundervollen Tage. Es war ein riesengroßes Vergnügen, Euch kennzulernen. wonderful holiday

We have to say thank you to Ann and Bob, who are excellent hosts. We enjoyed the two weeks at the lovely furnished appartment with all things you need for a luxury and relaxing holiday. We hope to come back next year to Boca Chica. In the meantime we wish Ann and Bob all the best.

Outstanding! Year after year, after year!

This was our 6th year spending a month in Panama at Ann's Rental. Year after year, Bob and Ann exceed our expectations. If I could give them 10 stars, I would! They go out of their way to make sure your vacation there is nothing short of fabulous. Incredibly relaxing, amazing views, phenomenal sunsets. Definitely worth the visit. But just not in January! We're already booked!

Perfect service very lovley owners

After 5 days in Panama City and an interesting trip on the Pan-Am Highway we finally made it to Ann's rental in Boca Chica. We decided "last minute" to book at Ann's rental and what we found was way above our expectations. Ann and Bob a very nice couple from the UK that build their Dream home in Boca Chica, made us feel home from the first second. The fridge was already full with very good and fresh food and drinks when we arrive. So we could really focus on "to enjoy our stay". This guys brought vacation rental for us to the next level. From a cell phone to food AND drinks in the fridge to lil presents for our daughter (4 years) all was just perfect. If I could I would give them 10 Stars for their very nice and amazing location. The condo was very clean well maintained and as I said they are very very nicy people. The only negative point for us, was the weather when we stayed there during end of November (lots of rain). But still, Ann and Bob did their very best to make us the time as nice as they could and organized us all we wanted and need. The enviroment and pool are amazing and the view of over the bay is just amazing. I recommend Ann's rental as the place " to go to" when visit BC. Best Sari, Pat and lil Sophie

Secret Paradise Location

W O W - wish I could give more than five stars. If you have not already, read the reviews from VRBO to get the complete picture. This is an attempt to minimize duplicate information while adding our perspective. This place is much better than described and exceeded our expectations. That was a challenge with all the glowing reviews. This is a super-fantastic 2 bedroom apartment in a tranquil, ideal setting. We will certainly return, and of all the places we have stayed around the world, this one is at the complete top of my list. Warning: if you are looking for lots of interactions with lots of people, this is not ideal. If you are looking to unwind with beautiful views and sounds (of birds, howler monkeys, and of the ocean), this is for you. My favorite things here were the views, the pool, the initial stock of groceries, and the outstanding customer service from Bob and Ann. They truly welcomed us like family. The journey from the Pan American Highway is scenic, and almost all paved. The bumps in the road for the last mile are certainly worth it. I can hardly wait to return! Keith & Angie K Ohio, USA

Beyond expectation!!

First, this review is way overdo. We had the pleasure of spending 8 days with Bob, Ann and their 3 dogs. The apartment itself could not have been nicer with excellent views and every imaginable comfort. The property sits just above the beach which most days we had completely to ourselves along with the dogs walking with us. With the well stocked kitchen it would be hard pressed to find a better deal or more caring and gracious hosts. We wanted a very relaxing and pieceful vacation, and with the beautiful pool and rancho all to ourselves we could not have asked for more. So if you are looking for the perfect hosts, a beautiful property, and a secluded beach this is the place for you. We would go back in a heartbeat if we get to this area of Panama again. Thanks again Ann and Bob for helping our vacation one of the best we ever experienced.

Before that we lived France for 3 years (great place but cold in the winter), before that we lived in Wales for 2 years (another great place but cold in the winter).
