The family is devoted to multi-culturalism and loves what France has to offer: rich history, breathtaking scenery, world-class cuisine, classic architecture, beautiful language and literature. The Loire Valley, in particular, embodies the best of France. The kings of France built their summer palaces in this beautiful valley.

Magical setting, exceeded expectations
The setting in the grounds of a beautiful chateau is very special and it was an absolute delight walking and cycling through the woodlands and gardens. Very private setting and great pool which was used daily. A warm welcome greeted our arrival and the fruit bowl and starter groceries were an unexpected, but much appreciated, surprise. Excellent communication with the owners - we would highly recommend staying here, especially if you want a relaxing break in the French countryside.
A Wonderful Place
This was one of the most charming places we could imagine. The house is so well equipped, the surroundings so enchanting and the area so interesting that we were thrilled with the entire experience. The house was in immaculate condition when we arrived, and the owner was very responsive and helpful in our prior discussions.
When we arrived in "La Briche" my first thought was "This is paradise...". We (my husband, me and our 3 children - 9, 6 and 2,5 years old ) spent wonderful three weeks there. It is a place full of peace, quietness and nature.
We made several excursions to the famous Loire-châteaus (i.e. Ambroise, Chambord, Chenonceau, Villandry, Ussé..) or to the lovely cities Tours, Chinon etc. All those destinations are easily to reach by car. But we also enjoyed staying entire days in "La Briche" with its forest, its lawn and - of course - the wunderful pool... :-) We also made some bicycle tours which was a pleasure, too.
By chance, the American landlords were also there, spending some weeks in their châteaux La Briche, which is a two-minutes-walk away from the guest house we rented. This was a great fortune! They gave us helpul information (and interesting information about La Briche) and our children played with their children (although they had no common language...). They even invited us to a dinner in their châteux, which was certainly one of the highlights of our stay there!!
We all would love to come back again sometime.
Quiet and relaxing stay!
We had a lovely stay in the cottage. The pool was huge! Plenty to do with fishing in the lake and biking around the property. It's very safe for children as the main gate was kept locked while we were there. It is very rural but the Super U just 5 mins away had everything. Thierry and Maria were very friendly and checked on us to see that everything was okay. The bedrooms have separate air conditioning. The one in the lounge wasn't working but it was sorted out quickly and really wasn't a problem. Nice breezes and extra fans were fine. Wifi and English TV were a bonus for the children. We made a new friend as well with the goat next door. We had a lovely time - thank you!
Lovely respite in the chateau region of France
We spent two weeks in this charming property. The house was well-equipped for all of our needs and the pool was perfect for relaxing with children after visiting various chateaux. The house is situated on approximately five acres in the Orangerie (a walled orchard).
Beyond the Orangerie lies the larger property, a beautiful expanse of land perfectly suited for explorations and sparking the imaginations of children, both young and old.
The owners were knowledgeable about the area, friendly and accommodating to our every need. In fact, the one need we couldn't have anticipated was our children's desire for friends their own age during a long stay in a foreign country. Even that need was met by the owners' two sweet girls who were approximately the same age as our children. Such luck!!
Overall, a memorable stay where we made many fond family memories.
MAGNIFICENT WINTER STAY
Our family spent a magical two and a half weeks at the guesthouse during the Christmas and New Years holidays. This property is truly amazing---words cannot adequately describe the setting of the guesthouse nor the beautiful grounds of the Chateau de la Briche during winter. The weather was pleasant and we had many days of sunshine. We enjoyed daily walks in the stunning forest and walked around the lake. We rode owner-provided bicycles throughout the property. The guesthouse is quite spacious and there was more than adequate heating to keep us as cozy as we wanted. The onsite caretaker, Thierry, was extremely pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed many treks to nearby chateaus, restaurants, street markets and other holiday attractions. During the holidays, the streets in all of the nearby towns were lit up with Christmas lights. The city of Tours, just half an hour away, had a fabulous holiday market, with wonderful knick-knacks and tempting food. Our only regret was leaving this beautiful property, when it was time to return home. We will surely come again and plan on another winter/spring visit in the near future.
