Isle of View- A beautiful Private Islan located in dramatic Ogden Canyon right on the Ogden River. Secluded with Ducks, Deer, Racoon, Squirrels, Beaver and Trout cruising the property yet conveniently close -10 minutes to the city with 10 golf courses, beautiful parks, malls, theaters and restaurants. Three ski resorts within 10 to 20 minutes.

Snow Basin, where 02' winter Olympics were held, with a fantastic upscale environment at moderate pricing. Powder Mountain largest ski area in northern hemisphere and nearby Wolf Mountain, an economical family resort, with day and night skiing .

Lodging at Isle of View is a romantic comfortable 2600 square foot hideaway surrounded by beauty, river and mountains with great fishing right off the deck - rainbow and brown trout are the most common with cutthroat, whitefish and brook trout also cruise the river.

It is also possible to raft from the house right thru town on a river that varies from class 5 to 2. There are many hiking and horseback trails nearby and just up the river, a couple minutes by car, is Pineview Reservoir, a beautiful lake with boating and fishing activities.

Loved it !! Can't wait til next time

What an Amazing place!! We stayed 5 days and had several family members in and out. Plenty of rooms and space to hang out inside. Outside was more then you would ever expect...at least 2 acres of private grounds. We will be back

Beautiful cabin but will never go again

This cabin is very fun we had a group of 4 of us all of us got horrible horrible infections from the nasty hottub. Woke up The next morning (eyes swollen shut) and got horrible rashes on whole body. Developed horrible internal infections which doctors tested and it was commonly found in hot tubs. Awful experience... Couches were also dirty

overall experience okay but first impression not very good two cabinets hanging by broken hinges,repaired third day. Broken mirror in bathroom , never repaired .Dog hairs all over daughters bed comforter overall cleanliness not very good. Very disappointing for me as it was first time bringing my 16 year old daughter out west to ski. Location with access to Snowbasin and Powder Mt.very good.Owner very interested in making it right but some things never got done.

Perfect little get-away if you use it right.

My wife and I loved it. A few observations, some compliments and some complaints: 1. You're safe in the winter. The owner of the cabin hires a man to overlook the care/cleaning of the cabin. The man's name is Don and he's simply an angel. He and his son are the hardest working caretakers we've ever seen. We woke up around 5:30 am on Christmas morning and they were both out there already shoveling our walk, bridge and the driveway so we could walk safely to our cars. They came back two or three times on Christmas, which was on a Sunday, and did it again. Joseph (owner), I don't know what you're paying this guy, but it's not enough. Seriously, he needs a raise. I will probably approach him in the future and ask him if he wants to come work for me because he runs circles around most caretakers. 2. While you're there, don't work with Joseph, the owner, at all if you can help it. He simply owns it and quite frankly he's kinda grouchy. He's not the kindest man we've every worked with. Contact Don with all your needs. He'll take care of you. 3. When we got there they had just put in a brand new, huge TV in the living room and the DVD player wasn't compatible with it so they ordered a new one, which should be there by now. Instead of making a fuss about it, we just used our own while we were there at the cabin. It worked great. That shouldn't be an issue for future guests. 4. If you need to do laundry while you're up there, just bring some detergent with you or grab some at the grocery story 5 minutes down the road. I think they had one cup of detergent out, but we were there for a week, so we grabbed some from Walmart which is like 10 or 15 minutes away. 5. Use all the amenities. We had a couple days left and we still hadn't used the pool table, the hot tub, the fireplace in the game-room, etc. Take advantage of the whole cabin because it's pretty amazing. 6. If I had two complaints they'd be smell and towels. When we got there, there was a really funny smell in the cabin. We had a couple Christmas air fresheners and it totally took care of it. We didn't use the new room they advertised, but Don opened it for a second to look for a cord for the TV and I'm pretty sure the smell was from there. It might just be something stored in there that we didn't use or see. Beds were great, but the towels very used. They could afford to by some soft towels, but they were very exfoliating. Some people pay good money for that.

The 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed stay at the Isle of View. We loved sitting both in the front and the back yard with the river flowing around us on both sides. Given the chance, we would stay here again.

Great Vacation

We had a wonderful stay. The setting Is outstanding!! We had planned to do some fishing but the river was low And the fishing was poor. The house needed some repairs. Joe the owner and Allison were great to work with.

Relaxing

Very cool to be on an island in the middle of the river. Ducks came to visit every morning and dinner time. Lots of cool features. Best part of the canyon. You think you are in a National Park. Dinosaur Park was just down the road.

Romantic getaway.

The owner has gone through great lengths to make the place beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and were warned about the possible problems ahead of time. There is a lot to look at and to enjoy, but to our disappointment not everything worked mechanically at least partly because of the destruction previous renters had done. There were things outside that should be disposed of. Yet, we would consider another stay because of all the beauty.

Great place would stay again

Joe, has put together an incredible getaway with beautiful views. Our stay was relaxing and beautiful. With being just up the canyon from Ogden you are not too far from shopping but far enough away that you feel away from it all. Great place we excited to stay again some day.

Eclectic Place with Numerous Code Violations

Beautiful and Eclectic Sportsmans Lodge on a Private Island, however much of the construction is shoddy and dangerous. There are no smoke detectors, extension cords permanently run under carpet, exposed wiring, circuit breakers on the side of the jacuzzi that get splashed with water when the jets are on, uneven floors, electrical outlets improperly installed, etc.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Isle of View! Was a great cabin and walking across a bridge to get to your front door was so, so cool. Also, definitely recommend grabbing something to eat at The Oaks which is just half a mile away (we got takeout there 2 of 3 nights)

September Stay

Beautiful location, space and privacy however property needs updating. We had no internet and cable TV due to a recent storm. The ground keepers tried for days without success saying the owner will give us some compensation. They were very nice and prompt. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

So much fun!

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend getaway, and it was amazing! The river is beautiful, and the cabin is big, and has so many fun things to do! Pool table, hot tub, horseshoes... Or just relax in one of the many seating areas around the property. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

Isle of View

The location for this property is excellent. It's a picture perfect setting for a quiet relaxing getaway to recharge the body. The house itself has a great layout and is very comfy. It does need some work but the real value is in the location. It's priceless to have your morning coffee next to the river. There is excellent internet and cable tv as well. Our trip was cut short because of an epic windstorm that affected not only is but most of Northern Utah. We lost power on our second day and it crews still haven't gotten the lights back on in most of the Ogden area. We still stayed and made the best of it. The woodstove provided plenty of heat and candles provided the light. The owner Joe and his caretaker Myles were excellent with communication and Joe actually refunded our entire trip because of the electricity situation even though it was not his fault. That is a first class stand up guy. We were very appreciative. Thank You Joe. We will return in the spring.

The local guy who watches over property could definitely clean it up, trash was behind every corner. When you pull up that's the first thing you see is trash, I don't think the owner knows this. Plus, he was their all weekend with us, which we weren't told about either, dissatisfied with that very much and will let owner know. Positive side, the house itself, and the view, stunning, just breathtaking!

Idyllic home and location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Isle of View. The home itself felt like an old fashioned ski lodge, which was awesome for us. Very spacious and comfortable. The location itself is unparalleled. There were a variety of spots to enjoy the rushing river, and the spectacular views of the canyon walls. Our favorite spot was the "island" off the island, where we sat for many hours and read and watched the adorable pine squirrels and birds going about their day. It felt like we were living in a Thomas Kincade painting. We would definitely come back!

Fabulous one of a kind location

We enjoyed our stay at Isle of View. This is such a uniquely beautiful location and many unique amenities right there in the cabin. Great to have the hot tub and pool table along with the beautiful outdoor decks to enjoy time together. Quick access to Pineview Reservoir and Ogden was nice too. As some previous reviews stated, it is a "well-loved" house in need of some repair, but has a lot to offer. We agreed we'd come back again.

Excellent 'Social Distancing'

My and husband and I both agree, we HATE to give this gem a five star review...we don't want people to find out about it and then make it so we cannot get our hands on it next summer (LOL!)! Our children had a wonderful time just PLAYING. My husband and I were able to relax in a house-type setting with gorgeous scenery. The wifi and cable were excellent for both virtual work purposes and entertainment in the evenings. Thank you so very much for such a wonderful memory, in an otherwise mundane summer.

Amazing Trip

Wonderful stay. Spent most days on the lake (6 minutes up the canyon). 2 ducks came from the river to hang out each day. Magical place indeed. Thanks for such a special trip!
