Come and enjoy the gorgeous views of the lake from the dining room or deck of this beautiful lake house. Only one short block to the beach, it is the perfect getaway for families. The house is a 3 bedroom one-level ranch. The kids will love spending the day at the beach, fishing, going to the park around the block, or exploring in the backyard. You can barbeque on the deck, or on the grills at the beach with a covered picnic area. The home has gorgeous wood floors, and a cathedral ceiling in the living room with a dramatic floor to ceiling brick fireplace.
Lake of the Woods in a very well-maintained, safe community that includes many amenities. We are located in Virginia Wine Country, and new vineyards are popping up each year. There is also a micro-brewery nearby. Washington D.C. is a approximately 1 1/2 hrs away. Thomas Jefferson's Monticello estate is 45 min. away. James Madison's Montpelier is 20 minutes away. It is a beautiful area with the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains and farmland. If you prefer, you can just walk down the street to the beach and spend the day relaxing, or stay in our newly built sun room overlooking the lake and enjoy a good book or play a game with the family.
Clean, comfortable, well stocked house a thirty second walk to a little community beach on the lake. Chilly A/C, responsive owner, pretty views from the deck. We (family of five) didn't use the golf course or pool but the Lake of the Woods restaurant and café were both nice and it seems like a pleasant community all the way around.
Very nice location and home was very comfortable for our vacation. The entire community was charming and we liked the variety of houses there. We enjoyed walking right up the street to a nice park with picnic tables and a small swimming beach. Great starting point for our daytrips to Washington DC, Fredericksburg, Culpeper, and Charlottesville. Enjoyed candle lit windows in nearby homes and our final night dinner at the clubhouse. We spent every morning relaxing in the large sunroom at the back of the house with a beautiful view of the lake. Thanks for the use of your wonderful property.
My family and I spent 4 days at this beautiful lake house and we had a great time. The house itself is spacious, comfortable and very clean. It has all the amenities you need to feel right at home and the location is very convenient. There many restaurants and stores near by in the event you need to buy groceries or feel like eating out. The lake is beautiful and it provides many entertaining opportunities for kids and adults alike including fishing, skiing, and barbecuing. There are picnic tables and grills around the lake which make perfect for a day at the lake. The wineries in the area are a big plus. I would definitely recommend this house to all my friends and family for a relaxing vacation. Thank you James and Cathy for letting stay at your beautiful house.

It has all the ammenities you need to feel right at home. The lake is beautiful and provides many opportunities for entertaining for kids and adults alike. There is plenty of shopping right outside the complex which is very convenient. I would recommend this property to all my friends and family. It is a great spot for a family vacation. Thank you James and Cathy for allowing us to enjoy your beautiful house.
We found tranquility and peace in the forested area of Locust Grove after a frenzied one week stay in New York. This is a great place to catch up with family, friends, a good movie on tv or simply spend quality time to play the many boardgames provided in the newly built conservatory. Outdoors people water ski, play golf at the golf course and walk their dogs. Around the house we found fireflies, wild hares, abundany insect lives and birds singing that will keep nature lovers happy. The Kitchen is well equipped to cook up all meals of the day. Wine glasses was a surprise find. The washing machine, dryer, fridge, ceiling fans and air-conditioning were all in good working order during our stay. Eating out is easy as the club restaurant that serves good quality meals is only 5 minutes drive away. We found Walmart easily to stock up on necessities under 15 minutes drive away. Surrounded by areas rich in history, lovely scenic drives to many award winning vineyards (we chose to go Jefferson Vineyard with an outdoor concert on a sunny day), and Charlottesville for seafood. House kayak was available to use during our stay.
This place is Not advisable for tourists without a car, unless you are prepared to walk to anywhere and have plenty of time at your disposal.
Owner provides passwords protected Wifi (so important to have in our modern communications)! We had a great time.
