Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your lake house. We absolutely fell in love with it! It was quite an adventure--we were there when the bad storm hit (2 people were killed about 5 miles from there), but the house was snug in its protected hollow. There were more bad storms last night in the same area, but I haven't heard the damage reports yet (our whole state was hard hit, again).
Anyway, we would love to stay there again, and I will be happy to pass it along to others who visit the area. And if you should ever decide to sell, please let us know!!
My wife and I came here in mid May for my birthday (turned 62) and it was our first time to Hot Springs together. The "little cabin" turned out to be better then expected. Lots of room, right on the water, good high view of the river with privacy. Lots of shade and trees close for a cozy experience. A nice dock to sip coffee on in the morning watching the boats go by. Only one neighbor that was to the left that might be close, but were quiet. The beds were comfortable, the little kitchen was plenty of room to cook, pots and pans and dishes and glasses were plentyful. There is even a pool table downstairs. What a gem of a place.
The bank is a little steep to the water for people with disabilities, but it was fine for me and my sweetie.
We are going again in autumn to see the fall colors. You cannot go wrong with "the little cabin".
It was clean and tidy. It's really almost 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and not just the 2 bedrooms listed. Beautiful evening views! Finding a place to launch a boat was a little tricky, but there's an RV park up the road that you can launch one for a fee and it's not very far from the cabin. Our boat wasn't running good, so we ended up fishing from the dock. We will probably be returning at some point to rent this place again.
We stayed here for a week. It has the best views. It is a cozy house with a great game room. We enjoyed this property so much. It is not a super updated condo, but it is charming. It was great having the pool table and air hockey table and tv in the game room. It was clean and had everything for cooking, including spices and cooking oils. I didn't need to bring all my spices like I do at other places. The beds were comfortable, even the futon bed in the sun room. It is clean. The furniture in the family room is cozy. The dock is wonderful. We didn't catch any big ones, but it was fun trying. The only downside was no WiFi. I would recommend this place to anyone. We loved this super clean adorable lake house.
This isn't a modern cottage/condo with high-end details that you see a lot on Homeaway/VRBO, but it reminded me of the Lake Hamilton homes of my childhood. No condos anywhere to be seen! It's in a neighborhood, filled with similar houses. I liked that! The lake view is the centerpiece of the home, and the deck runs the entire length. The pictures don't really show that there is plexiglass between the rails of the deck (the "unrestricted view" because there aren't rails in the way when you're seated), so I was a little nervous to have our 4 year old grandson visit us. I was relieved to see the plexiglass when we arrived. I spent the majority of my time sitting on the shaded deck reading or watching the parade of boats going past, usually with a glass of tea. (Could use a bigger dining table on the deck. There's not much room if you want to eat outside. We ate in the dining room, which had plenty of room). There is no wifi access (and none was advertised), but we were usually able to get cell service (ATT). The sunroom is cuter and brighter than the pictures indicate, and there is a bathroom with tub adjoining. The futon is probably most comfortable for children, although my 35 year old son did sleep there! The queen bedroom had a soft-ish mattress, which isn't to our taste, but the one in the king was nice. Because this is an older house, the tall (I almost had to hop up and I'm 5'7"), king size bed fit almost right up to the edge of the closets, but there was room at the other end for a tv and other furniture. There is an excellent rec room downstairs with pool table, air hockey, dartboard, tv and radio. As others have mentioned, there is a nice assortment of board games, and a few DVDs, and a selection of books & mags. My son and grandson spent any free time building castles out of the provided blocks! You are able to swim right off the dock. (no electricity) My son said it was probably around 7' deep at the end. Little ones could walk in from the steps off the shore if they're afraid to jump. The house is freshly painted, with newish upholstered furniture, and felt perfectly clean to me. Temperatures all over the house were fine. It was a very nice long 4th of July weekend which we enjoyed so much! We will definitely be back, if the Christians will have us! They have done a nice job making this cabin comfortable and pleasurable, and are anxious to make sure that guests enjoy their visits and that everything is "right."
We stayed at the Fishing Cabin this past weekend. It was excellent!! The owners have thought of everything to keep the family busy. It rained a lot during our trip but I was totally ok with that. There was the pool table in the basement, board games, and even books and magazines to read. The cabin is located in a very quite neighborhood which I definitely enjoyed. The grocery store is just at the end of the street and the cabin had everything we could possibly need to cook. This cabin is perfect for a wknd getaway or even a week long vacation.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in The Fishing Cabin. It was very clean and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. We enjoyed the deck, the view, the central location to everywhere we visited. On the first day, we purchased some fresh birdseed and loaded it into the bird feeder on the tree. It didn't take long to be discovered and we were able to take a few pictures of the feathered visitors! We used the boat deck as a dance floor one night at sunset and discovered that frying bacon WILL set off the smoke detector! *smile* Thanks for having us!
