About this property

Yurt Freya is a traditional Mongolian yurt with a little extra.

Yurt Freya is a traditional Mongolian yurt with a little extra. Its bright bold colours and detailed paint work stand out on the untraditional colour, Black.
Black and white yurts are rare and uncommon in a Mongolian yurt opting for their more bold and stand out colours our yurt is different. Yurt Freya also boast an unconventional layout with a hanging bed, suspended by rope from a wooden frame, the same frame supports two hanging chairs next to the beautiful wood burner. This beautiful setting leaves you with an amazing experience.
Yurt Freya is a totally unique experience that is available nowhere else in Iceland.
Valhalla yurts look forward to seeing you soon.

Lovely stay

had a great stay at the yurts, our host did a great job giving us instructions on how to get in and how the yurt and bathroom work. he was very kind and we had great chats with him.He made us a lovely breakfast which he delivered on time at the time of our choosing, and it made a nice relaxing morning for us. i wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

A hidden gem!

This was such a cute and cozy place to stay! The yurt was very warm with heater, wood stove, and heated mattress. We got to see the aurora right from the property (and even from the see through top of the yurt while in bed). Breakfast was brought to us in the morning and was amazing (fresh breads, fresh eggs from their chickens, fresh fruit, etc).

We had an amazing 2 nights in yurt Freya. Rick was a thoughtful and friendly host who really made us feel welcome and ensured we had everything we needed. The space itself is beautiful with many fun little touches, and we were extremely comfortable during our stay. The breakfast each day was also amazing. If you are looking at this listing and thinking you might enjoy staying in a funky little space like this, I absolutely recommend it as a base of operations for your southern Iceland/golden circle trip. We hope to come back soon!
