About Ken Nachtweih
We are a family that has lived in many states over the last 6 years. We purchased our house in Indianapolis when my husband lived there in 2007. The house was completely gutted to the studs (was a duplex!)and we did most of the remodel work ourselves. We take a lot of pride in this house due to the sweat we put into it, and love to share our work with visitors coming to Indianapolis. Since then we have lived in Omaha, Chicago, and now we reside in Loveland, OH. I don't want to loose touch wiht our guests, so I manage our bookings personally. However due to the geographic distance, I have a local staff in Indy for cleaning and maintenance.

This house was great!! Conveniently located close to downtown Indianapolis and everything it has to offer. It has a newly remodeled kitchen, decorated great and very clean. Would rent it again!

Very Very Nice and Conveniently Located.
The house was Great and close to everything we wanted to do. We went to Ball State and that was about 1 hour drive. But everything else was within 20 minutes, from the Indy Speedway, Lucas Oil Stadium, Pacers Arena, and Butler University. The house was very spacious and clean. Definitely would use it again, especially if we come back for the Big 10 Championship and/or the Indy 500. Ken was very helpful and answered every question we had.
Dirty and Neglected, Lots of Problems
This was by far the worst VRBO house I've stayed in. The water was shut off when we arrived and had to stay in a hotel the first night. The shower leaked thru the ceiling causing a puddle at the bottom of the stairs and a plumber had to be called out. The AC didn't cool the upstairs, one room didn't even have vents. As for the cleanliness... mold and broken tiles in master bath, most windows didn't have screens, mini-blinds were filthy, dead bugs were left in the window sills, some areas of kitchen floor didn't even have grout. The living room furniture was stained and worn. Closets were spacious as listed but with all of the clutter they were unusable (one closet actually had a window AC unit in it). The back patio was only useable if we wanted to clean it, and the list goes on and on. I rated a 2 star because the homeowner was good to respond to the problems. It's hard to believe this is the same house with all the 5 star reviews. Overall this was very disappointing and I would not recommend. If there was a way for me to post pictures here I would gladly share a few.
I honestly wish I was able to provide the best experience for every tenant but unfortunately that is not always possible. I continually work to improve the house to make sure the amenities are far above standard and I think this is reflected in my 52 5 star reviews. There were a couple issues during this tenants stay and I thought I handled them in an timely manner. The water was shut off upon their arrival because of a mistake by the water/gas company. The last 4 numbers of both the Citizens gas and Citizens water are the same and they were applying the payment to only the gas. They admitted to the mistake and turned the water on the following day. Because of this I booked and paid for 2 hotel rooms for the tenants up the street and refunded them for the night including the fees Homeaway charges. On top of this I had a tray of baked goods delivered to the house to apologize for the inconvenience. There was a small leak from the 2nd bath that I had addressed within hours of notification. I had a heating and cooling company thoroughly go through the system after their departure and they were unable to find any issues.
I personally cleaned the house prior to their arrival and as always I put a big emphasis on cleanliness. There are no broken tiles in the master bathroom. I did notice a very small spot on the inside corner edge of the shower that I cleaned thoroughly and then resealed. There are 2 windows in the stairwell going to the second floor that don't have, and never did have, screens. I have never had anyone mention this as an issue, but I will add them. All blinds are dusted with every cleaning and are washed during the monthly deep clean. I did not see any bugs in any of the window sills. The kitchen floor grout was in the process of being replaced during their stay so some of the grout had been removed. There is a small pen mark on one chair and a half in the living room. I was unable to remove so I am planning to replace in the next couple weeks. There are extra blankets and pillows in the center room closet for larger group stays. They are well organized and so that there is more than enough room for suitcases. The back deck is cleaned before every guest. There are extra seats for larger groups that do need to be wiped down if used.
I work very hard to provide the best stay for every guest and I think that reflected in my reviews over the past 8 years.
Nice house for the weekend. Great location, only a few minutes from downtown.
Overall, we were very happy with the property. Would stay there again if ever in Indianapolis.
