The Mansion on Park Avenue - walk to downtown Galena

This special place is close to everything, making it easy to plan your visit. Walking distance to Main Street Galena and all of its wonderful shops and restaurants, to kayak and bike rental and for breakfast at Otto’s Place. No pets allowed.
Each bedroom has a king bed with adjustable base - zero gravity, reading, sleeping and other positions. Each bedroom has its own bath. Three bedrooms have large soaking bathtub.New kitchen with eating area, granite counters, coffee bar, induction cooktop, range and microwave Formal dining room. Family Weekend Fun!

My family rented this home to all be together to celebrate my mom's birthday! There was plenty of space, the house is huge. We spent most of our time on the middle level in the kitchen, game room, and theater. The theater seats were very comfortable and it was the perfect place for some downtime. The only negative is the train close by, and with it being an old home, voices travel and the floors creaked, so it could be pretty loud, but that was to be expected. The location was great and close to main st. for shops, bars, and restaurants, our favorite was Fried Green Tomatoes & Miss Kitty's Grape Escape.

Girls weekend

Loved this house and location from downtown Galena. It was perfect for our girls weekend. Loved all the bathrooms! Will definitely stay again!💕

Galena Mansion

We had a group of 8 and had a great time. The house was in a perfect location for a short walk downtown. We would stay here again.

The Mansion!

Great location, was awesome having my family all in on big house. Really loved the aged feel of being in such an old historic house. I can’t imagine the original owners and their lifestyle.

Delightful stay in Galena

The mansion has been wonderfully preserved. Beautiful wood work and architecture. At the same time, it is equipped with ample air conditioning, bathrooms for each bedroom, sufficient electric outlets and nice hot showers. The rooms were spacious and surprisingly quiet from each other and the outside noises. The kitchen is small, but we were able to take turns cooking and the dining room was great. I do have a couple of housekeeping suggestions. We stayed 4 nights and did cook for 7 people each night so 3 dishwasher pods were not enough. Providing one for each day would be reasonable. An indoor recycling receptacle next to the trash would have been nice. The host was responsive to questions and the car charger was an added plus. We had a delightful time in Galena and would recommend the Mansion on Park Avenue.

Cycling

Cycling group weekend. Trail is right out the door, downtown shopping & eating is a few minute walk, theater room for social evenings and everyone had their own bathrooms! Perfect location and accommodations!

Weekend getaway with friends.

We were 8 older people. The stairs made it a little tricky, but we enjoyed ourselves in spite of them. A great house. Great hot.

Ladies Halloween weekend!

Property was gorgeous and exactly as advertised. We ranged in age 56-70, but in good shape. There were steps to deal with as most beds were on 3rd level so I recommend anyone who is considering the place be able to do steps. The location was perfect easy 3 block walk to the downtown area. We had no issues so never had to call Jim with any problems, but he sent a text right away to let him know if we had any problems. Would highly recommend.

Friends weekend in Galena

We have stayed as a group at many Galena homes in the territories over the years, but this location was great within walking distance to town and each bedroom had a king bed and own bathroom. Worked well for 5 couples. Disappointed with the size of the kitchen and the lack of a large family room to gather in. Would have liked an outdoor space (fire pit) to gather outside and some games/ cards/ poker set for the game room.

The house was very spacious, clean and nice for an older home. Loved the gardens and that each bedroom had a private bathroom. James was a great host. Very quick to respond to any questions. The neighborhood is beautiful and walkable.

Nice Stay at The Mansion

Nice, spacious place to stay for a large group that is walking distance to everything on main street in Dowtown Galena. Host is very easy to deal with. Definitely recommend the Mansion for a large group!

New Years ski weekend

Great house with perfect location for chestnut mountain access and downtown Galena. Elegant and functional historic home with great movie room, cooks kitchen and fun parlor spaces for game nights!
