Lively Organic Farm is a small working farm nestled in a semi-rural quiet neighborhood, with lush gardens and orchards. We are located 8 miles from downtown Eugene and 1/2 blk. from the bus stop. Our guest cottage has a full bath and fully equipped kitchen, which is stocked with the makings for a healthy breakfast - fresh organic fruits and vegetables from our farm, as well as other local delights.
Prepare these at your leisure and enjoy breakfast on the patio or in the dining area. The second story is an open loft with two beds that can sleep up to four persons. The loft also has a TV, DVD Library, Stereo, CD player.
Relax and enjoy a stroll in the garden, learn about organic farming practices, visit our art studio, indulge in a massage (by pre arranged appt.), or enjoy the warmth of a roaring campfire. These are just a few things to enjoy while staying at our farm...even more pleasures can be found when you head out and explore all the wonderful activities Lane County and the surrounding areas have to offer.

I just wrapped up another stay at the artful cottage while in Eugene for a sporting event. I love being able to get away from the crowds and find serenity at the cottage/the yard surrounding the cottage. The accommodations are fantastic and the food provided is always on point. The best way to describe my experiences staying at the artful cottage would be "wholistic" in that not only does my body get to rest and relax, but also my mind and spirit. Megas and Tom are wonderful!
About the accommodations:
Upstairs there are two beds, a full and a queen with a futon type couch that is about the size of a full bed when converted. In addition, there is a small television with a good selection of DVDs, some tv channels, and a bookshelf loaded with great reads.
Downstairs is the kitchen with a shelf loaded with good organic eats which include: veggies, fruit, and whatever dietary needs requested. Additionally, there is a small two burner cooktop, a mini fridge (loaded with food!), a dishwasher, tea pot, coffee pot, and so forth. a standard bathroom is off of the kitchen.
This would be a great place for almost anyone to stay unless there is difficulty with stairs as the beds are upstairs.
First time at the Artful Cottage while visiting our son at U of O. Wonderful, clean, beautiful accommodations. Fridge stocked with breakfast goodies, home was beautiful and warm. Will stay here again. The owners are amazing. Who calls and informs you that you left your iphone charger and then mails it back to you? These owners do. Great people. A bit out of the heart of Eugene, but not too far and nice to be away from it all. Great location for a morning walk.
This was our first time at the Artful Cottage - my husband, daughter and I were in town for 3 nights for my daughter's commencement ceremonies from the U of O. The cottage was wonderful - warm, cozy and full of charm and art. We enjoyed the organic foods that were provided for breakfast. We loved the wonderful farm - peach trees, tomatoes, zucchini, garlic, and lots more. Megas and Tom were wonderful hosts and we enjoyed an evening in front of the fire with them. A favorite memory was the afternoon my family spent swinging gently on our individual hammock while the sun and the light breeze kept us both warm and fresh - wonderful. We will absolutely come back again - and we've already recommended this charming cottage to friends and family. Thanks so much for making our stay so delightful!
This is our second stay with Megas and Tom. We attend the NCAA track and Field finals in Eugene as our son participates. It was great to come back and be welcomed, again. The cottage is warm and comfortable with Megas's unique arts and charm. I ended staying an extra day and they were very accommodating in allowing their schedule to be disturbed allowing me another night. I look forward to another visit with family and or friends and experience more of the opportunities Eugene has to offer maybe to include a yoga retreat instructed by Megas!
I've always been attracted to tree houses and when I was upstairs in the bedroom of this delightful cottage it felt like my dream had been answered. The bed was so comfortable and cozy (there are two), the decor so tasteful and attractive that I felt instantly at home and totally relaxed and comfortable. After roughing it a bit at my son's nearby organic farm I was ready for some luxury and I found it here. The kitchen was so well-stocked with delicious organic and local foods that I not only ate breakfast there but even an occasional lunch. The owners were delightful and super accommodating. I hope to return and recommend it highly.
My husband and I stayed in this cozy, little cottage over the Christmas holiday. The cottage was perfect for the two of us and easily accommodated our two young grandsons on a sleep over. The kitchen is smallish, but large enough and equipped well enough to make simple meals. The kitchen is stocked with delectable goodies, so you'll want to eat breakfast at the cottage! The living quarters are nicely done, full of artwork and the beds are very comfortable. Perhaps the nicest thing about this little gem is the owners. They are delightful to work with and Megas is just the sweetest lady. We will return in warmer weather so we can take advantage of all the farm has to offer - hammocks, fire pit, volleyball, peaches, and more. You will love this cottage!
