OMG!!! Brilliant - You Won't Be Disappointed

This is our second stay Bali Ginger Villa and for a very good reason - it is amazing. The reality is so much better than the website and brochures show. Amazing central location with only a 5 minute walk to anything but nestled at the end of a quiet lane you are surrounded by peace and tranquility. The service from the staff is nothing short of outstanding from the moment you arrive to the (sad) moment you leave.

Comfortable and well priced

Comfortable air conditioned bedroom and beautifully decorated. We appreciated having our own plunge pool to cool us down Coffee was good. The location was further from the beach than we would have liked and it took us awhile to get used to the noise and business of Seminyak. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful

Ficamos 4 noites. Vila precisando de manutenção, toalhas velhas, banheiro c odor , e decoração precisando de mudar, última noite que choveu pouco mas foi suficiente P ter goteira em cima da cama em um dos quartos. Achamos longe da praia se pensar que estava muito quente para andar uns 15 min . Café da manhã c poucas opções e cansativo P 4 noites. A única coisa que valeu foi o atendimento de todos os funcionário que foram bem cordiais ,

Perfect!

This is our second stay here and wont be our last! The villa itself is absolutely stunning, set around a cute plunge pool and beautiful tropical gardens. No photoshop with the villa pictures, what you see is what you get.The staff are friendly and helpful, with no request being too much trouble. The location is perfect, a 5 min walk to the restaurants, shops and Seminyak beach, but set enough back from the main road, so you miss out on the noise. The booking process and airport transfer was easy, Wifi was good. Of special note- the bamboo sheets used in the villa are divine and the banana pancakes for breakfast were the best Ive ever eaten :)

Great time, pleasant staff

The layout of the dual suites with a pool in the middle was great. It allowed us and our party to hang out together, but also keep our privacy. Room had a great shower, English speaking channels, comfortable bed, and cold A/C. Outside of room, staff was very helpful and friendly, and the villa was within walking distance of many different shops, restaurants, convenience store, and beach. I very much enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone interested in the area.

Sisters in Seminyak

Shikumen Villa is every bit as gorgeous as the photos portray, but what they don't tell you is just how gorgeous the staff are too. Vita and her staff made our stay that extra bit special. The villa was exceptional - a welcome reprieve from the heat each day. Close to everything - restaurants, beach, shops, supermarket, bars - what more could you want? Absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be back!

Lovely

Totally loved my time at the Bali Ginger Suites. We arranged to get picked up at the airport and taken to the Ginger Suites and it was just like the pictures. The air conditioning in the rooms was lovely after a long trip and the private pool a god send. The rooms were lovely and spacious, the complimentary breakfasts were lovely. The location is great, like a little hidden gem, yet so close to everything. The staff are wonderful and really made us feel welcome. I will definitely be back again next year.

My friend and i had an amazing stay at Bali Ginger suites, we loved the decor, the bamboo bedding was out of this world. The swimming pool was beautifully designed. The staff were fantastic, so helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Reccomending this place to everyone i know and would love to stay here again. Thankyou so much!!

Spectacular place, best in Bali

This is a wonderful villa with two separate rooms, exquisitely decorated by an Australian set designer. The beds are very comfortable, the air conditioning strong, the pool lovely. Breakfast is included as is coffee and tea and the location is right by shops and restaurants while still being out of the way. The villa is attached to a hotel, so it gave us the best of both worlds: a fully serviced home of our own that also has front desk help and friendly staff. It's truly perfect. I will never stay anywhere else in Seminyak and am already looking forward to my next visit.

Coming from a theatre background we have really tried to "set the stage" for our guests to have a unique Bali holiday, full of pleasure, romance and fun, but hopefully no tragedy in this particular script. Just to clarify regarding breakfasts, for now we supply complimentary pastries at breakfast time. At the Shikumen Villa, which comes equipped with its own kitchen/dining area, a full breakfast can be arranged at a small extra charge, cooked by our staff in your villa. It was also nice to see you recommend it as a "Romantic Getaway". We are developing a complete Romance Package for the Shikumen as well as Bali Ginger Suites, called 50 Shades of Ginger, which has already started to become a popular upgrade with our guests. Our favourite comment in your review was that you will never stay anywhere else in Seminyak, so we look forward to seeing you again. Regards, Lou.

Loved the villa

We loved staying in the villa and would do so again - it had convenient access to the beach and different hubs of the town were within walking distance or short inexpensive cab rides. The staff was very friendly and helpful though we do have some suggestionsr: -- reading lights in bedrooms - they were way too dark and the front desk did not have any lamps or flashlights -- overhead fan on outside patio needed to work -- more extensive list of restaurants/interesting places to see Those are just little things to enhance the already great accommodations - planning on coming back!

Grahame and Lou designed and built Bali Ginger Villa.

Before moving to Bali we both worked as professional theatre artists in Australia for more than 20 years, Grahame as a Director/Writer and Lou as a Designer/Production Manager. Our theatre work toured extensively around Australia as well as internationally to countries including Indonesia, Singapore, Canada, USA, Japan, Korea, Russia and Mexico.

Inspired to create theatre that highlighted environmental issues, we travelled throughout Borneo and Sumatra researching about the plight of orang-utans in 1990, eventually developing Visiting The Relatives as a theatre production. Visiting The Relatives was rehearsed, written and designed in the steamy jungles of Northern Sumatra, “on location” at an orang-utan rehabilitation centre in 1992. This unique development process was challenging and innovative, and would eventually lead to projects about elephants (Ivory Circle, created in Thailand in 1993) and bears (Deliverance of Dancing Bears, written and designed in Turkey in 1995). Visiting The Relatives opened in Perth to sold out seasons and critical acclaim, and subsequently toured nationally and internationally over a 5 year period, making it one of Australia's most successful theatre productions.

In 1990 one of our tours took us via Bali and after that we just kept on coming back until it became an annual visit. During a couple of these visits Grahame began writing and Lou designing two of our most successful touring productions, ‘Frog Opera’ and ‘Silverfish’.

With 1 son grown up and married and the second still in primary school we took the opportunity to move to Bali and make it our home in 2007. We hope to bring that same creativity and flair to our life in Bali. Grahame thrives on the challenge of designing and building in Bali whilst Lou is passionate about creating memorable moments for visitors and takes care of much of the detail and finishing design.

It can be extended to a 3 bedroom villa by booking the Double Happiness Suite which has connecting gate and includes antique ceramic Chinese hip-bath set to the side of the enormous 1 bedroom suite. The Bali Ginger Villa can be combined with the Double Happiness Suite to create a 3 bedroom private villa. The well trained staff are discreet and attentive, providing personalized guest service. Packages can include your own cook to prepare a delicious cooked breakfast for you at a time that suites you in the villa.
